Shiva's POV:

So many questions were running in my mind looking at my mom.

Why is she here?

How did she know that I will be coming here today?

Is she here to ask me to help me save Alia's company?

Or is she here to emotionally blackmail me again?

She had lost some weight. I could see dark circles below her eyes. Is she not well? But dad told me today that she was doing well. Her neck which used to covered with jewelry was now having only her mangalsutra. Her earrings were very minimal. She had worn a plain cotton saree. If I were not her son, it would have been difficult to make out who she was.

Her eyes glistened with tears looking at me and I was hit by tides of emotions. It was easy to not think about her when she was not in front of me. It was easy to dislike her when she was not in front of me looking so lost. But then I remembered the things she had done to me, how much of a good actress she was. How she manipulated me. How she tried to separate me from Tanu. I should control myself. I don't know her intentions and even if I know I don't know whether she is not lying about it. I have learnt my lesson now. I am not going to make the same mistake again.

"Sh..Shiva."

I cleared my throat once before saying, "Mom, what brings you here?"

"I came to see you."

"Why?" I unlocked the door and went inside.

"Come inside mom."

"How are you?"

"Good, how did you know that I will be coming here today?"

"After your dad returned from Kashi, I thought you will come once to meet him. So, I have been coming here for 3 days."

I was taken back from her answer. Is she waiting for me for 3 days? But dad didn't tell me about it today.

"What do you mean by waiting?"

"I used to come here at 9 and leave at 7." I didn't expect my mom to say that. What was so important that she had to wait here for so long to meet me.

"Why would you do that?"

"Because I wanted to see you. If I asked you to meet me, you would have declined so I waited for you here." I felt bad for her waiting here whole day to see me. But she need not know about it.

"How are you doing?"

"I am good. I am going for therapy, and it has helped. I have started painting again."

"Good to hear that."

"How is Tanvi?"

"She is good."

"I...I will take my leave. Take care." She kissed my forehead and looked at me longingly before she left.

"You too take care mom. How are you going back?" I went till the elevator to send her off.

"I came with driver."

"Ok then."

When the lift door opened. Chimmi was standing there with a bag. She looked between me and mom for some seconds and exited the lift when mom entered it.

"Hi Shiva."

"Hi Chimmi."

"Umm, she looks similar to your mom." She commented doubtfully.

"She is my mom."

"Is she alright?"

"She says so." I didn't feel the need to elaborate my mother's condition in front of Chimmi, so I gave short replies.
