Chapter 61

Tanvi's POV:

"SURPRISE!!!!"  I heard Ramya aunty and Chimmi's voice.

I was shocked for a second, and then I regained my senses.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, looking at Chimmi.

"Seriously, we are meeting after so long and this is the first thing you are telling me?" She glared at me.

"I am surprised to see you here. How are you Chimmuuuu." I went near her and pulled her into a hug. After hugging me she sat on her knee.

"Are you trying to take my blessings?" I teased her.

"You wish!! I am hugging my baby." she hugged my stomach placing her face on it and her arms encircling my waist. I chuckled at her.

"Hi putta, how are you now?"  I heard Ramya aunty's voice. I turned my head towards the living room and saw aunty standing with a popper in her hand.

"Hi aunty, I am good, how are you? Why are you holding the party popper?" I looked around and the living room setup had changed a little bit. Chimmi broke her hug after kissing my stomach.

"She wanted to burst the poppers herself, but she was not able to pop when you guys came in."

"I wanted to surprise you and Shiva putta. It's alright."

"No aunty, we will go out and come back again now. You can pop that time."

I looked at Shiva. He was smiling looking at us.

"Come Shiva, we will go out and come back again."

"Sure, why not" He placed our bags on the table. We went out and when we opened the door again and stepped in. We heard the popper blasting. It fell on us. I was trying to catch them, feeling like a child again.

I hugged Ramya aunty, "It has been so long since I met you aunty. How is uncle?"

"He is good, Putta. I was missing you whenever I used to come here. I was so happy when Shiva putta told me that you were coming along with him. How is the baby? You have got that pregnancy glow on your face and your cheeks are more chubby now."

"I missed you too aunty. The baby is fine and growing well. My Blood pressure is normal now. Ma keeps feeding me from time to time. It can be very annoying at times but it had been so long since she took such care of mine. I am enjoying it to my fullest." Aunty chuckled at my words.

"You guys go and freshen up. I will arrange the plates for your lunch."

"Aunty, I will have my lunch in the office, can you please pack it."

"Why Shiva?" I asked him.

"You guys have met after a long time. You will have a lot of things to talk about, I don't want to bother."

"Wait a minute, am I missing something here?" I looked suspiciously looked at Chimmi and aunty. Meanwhile Shiva slipped to our bedroom.

"You freshen up first, you will come to know. Don't forget to wear this." Chimmi handed me a paperbag.

"What is this?" I asked her.

"Do as I say. Now shoo." She shooed me.

Shiva was folding the sleeves of his shirt when I came into the bedroom. I was here after such a long time. I went near him and asked.

"You knew about this surprise didn't you?"

"When I met Chimmi last time, she told me about this surprise. My only job was to bring you here without you finding out about the surprise."

"Is that why you asked me to come with you this time?"

"Yea, I want you to have a great time today. I will leave for the office now. If there is any emergency call me. While I am in the interview, Kishore will have my phone so you don't have to worry about anything. Just give me a call."

"Ok Shiva. All the best for your interview. Everything will be alright. Don't stress yourself too much."

"I will make it alright." I saw a glint of calmness in him which reassured me that he had it all planned and will achieve it. There is no second thought about it. That brought relief and a smile on my face.

I stepped on my toes and touched my forehead with his, holding the back of his head. He smiled through it. We stayed for a few seconds before I drew myself back.

"Have a great time, Tanu. See you." He kissed my cheeks.
"Papa is going to his office now. Take care of your mama." He pressed his forehead against my belly. I felt movement inside my belly. After bidding bye again, Shiva left for office.

I got freshened up and wore the outfit in the bag. The outfit was like a robe. I could adjust its waist according to my size. I felt very comfortable yet elegant in it. It was also something that I could wear post pregnancy. It was quite thoughtful of Chimmi to get me this outfit.

After giving myself another glance in the mirror, I went to the living room.

"I was about to come to your room to call you. What took you so long?" Chimmi asked, faking annoyance.

"I was talking to Shiva before he left."

"Ok come on, let's have lunch now. I am very hungry." She took my hands and dragged me to the dining table. The Table was neatly arranged with my all time favourite food items. My mouth was already watering looking at them.

"Ahem ahem." Chimmi cleared her throat and handed me an A5 sheet sized card. I took it from her hands and read it.

The heading read, "Mrs.Tanvi Goenka's baby Shower." in cursive.
It contained today's itinerary. Starting off with lunch, followed by a walk in the garden. Then some pottery painting. Clicking some sunset pictures, then writing a letter to the baby, followed by a movie marathon with some snacks.
This itinerary sounded very familiar to the way we were celebrating our birthdays during our early adulthood days. My eyes prickled with tears.

"Tanu baby, please don't cry." Chimmi engulfed me in a hug.

"I don't want to, it is just the hormones."

"I know, I know." she shushed me calmly. Once I stopped crying. I broke the hug and looked at her.

"Are you ready for your baby shower?" she asked me excitedly.

"YES!!!!"
