Chapter 60

Tanvi's POV:

I felt tense when Shiva told me that his mom came to meet him. I held myself from showing it to Shiva. Although I felt sympathy towards her when Shiva told about her condition, I remembered that it is better if I stay away from her given our history. It is good that she is taking therapy, I really thought she needed one. I don't wish her bad, I just don't want her to interfere in my life. She once created a tornado in my life from which I am still recovering, I don't want to be anywhere near her.  After all the events that have transpired in my life I have come to realise that if something is meant to be it will be, if something is meant to happen it will happen and if something is meant to leave it will leave. I can either stress and make a fuss over it or be calm and face whatever happens with courage. I cannot control what his mom might tell him or what decisions he makes but I can control my reaction to it.
So I asked Shiva how he felt after meeting her.

"I felt sad seeing her like that, but I cannot get myself past her betrayal. I don't know what is going on in her mind, I will talk to dad regarding it when I meet him. And Tanu, a TV channel has asked me for an interview, what do you think about it?" he said.

"An interview? Do you want to do it?" He has always held himself back from giving these interviews. He never gave it a second thought, he always said no when they asked him to give an interview. What is making him think about doing one this time?

"I am thinking of doing it, but only if you agree."

"Why now? You always denied them before? With the recent controversies, don't you think they will bring up our marriage there and ask you questions regarding it?"

"I know they are going to bring up that topic. That is one of the reasons why I want to do this interview. I want to clear things Tanu. I want to do it before the baby shower. I created this mess, I want to clean it."

"What are you going to say there?"

"Leave that to me, are you ok with me doing it?"

"I don't have a problem with it. And moreover you are right, you created this mess, you should clean it. I don't mind the jabs people throw at me, but papa and ma don't deserve it."

"I am sorry Tanu for putting you, ma and papa through it."

"Let's not talk about it now, when is the interview?"

"The shoot will be next wednesday. I was thinking of taking you along with me. What do you say?"

"What if I say no?"

"I will say Pleaseeeee"

"Ok, I want to meet Chimmi too, it has been so long since I met her. I will ask if she is free that day."

"Yea, you should. Ok, now it's time to talk to the baby" I chuckled listening to him. Then we both talked to the baby about our day.

NEXT WEDNESDAY

I was excited to meet Chimmi after so long. Although I talk to her weekly once, it doesn't feel the same way as meeting in person. I had crocheted her a lavender coloured scarf, I will be giving it to her today. Shiva is on an office call. He called Ramya aunty yesterday to tell her that we will be coming today.

"Give these to Chimmi. Don't you dare eat them all by yourself."
Ma packed some sweets and Chakkuli for Chimmi. I kept them in my overnight bag.

"Ma, why will I eat the things you packed for her?" I said faking sadness.

"I am your mother Tanu, I can easily catch when you act. I remember the times you ate the things I packed for her. Don't worry, I have already informed her that I am sending these with you. Jokes apart, take care and be careful. Don't eat outside, it might cause acidity."

"Ok ma, you too take care. I will call once I reach home."

"Tanu, let's go." Shiva had his bag in one hand and took mine in another.

"Bye ma." I and Shiva bid our byes to ma. Papa and my sister were not at home.

"Take care guys." ma wished back.

I laid my head on Shiva's shoulder and closed my eyes enjoying the fresh air through the window. I drifted off to sleep.

I felt nudging, "Tanu.. wake up, we have arrived at our apartment."

I slowly opened my eyes and looked at my surroundings. Then it hit me that I was supposed to be Chimmi in a cafe.

"Oh my god, I was supposed to meet Chimmi at the cafe, what time is it? She must be waiting for me there." I said hurriedly.

Shiva took me in his arms and said, " Relax Tanu, why are you worrying? Come let's go and freshen ourselves first. I have already made a call to Chimmi. Don't worry, she is not waiting for you in the cafe."

"Thank you so much Shiva." I kissed his cheek.

We took the elevator to our penthouse. Shiva was texting someone on his phone.

"Tanu, I have some work in my office that I have to finish before I leave for the interview recording. I will head back to the office after freshening up."

"Ok Shiva, I will make a call to Chimmi and ask her to come here. It is sunny outside. I don't feel like going out now."

He nodded in acknowledgement.

I typed the passcode on the door as Shiva was carrying our bags. I stepped inside this house after months. I was quite hesitant to come here because of the past incidents but I am not the same person anymore. I have grown stronger emotionally over these months, I am ready to face anything. I am a mother now, who should set an example for her child to face everything with courage no matter what. With a positive thought I stepped into the house.

"SURPRISE!!!!"
