Chapter 58

Shiva's POV:

I am not able sleep after what happened today, people will keep on talking about my engagement with Alia. Even though Tanu said she was prepared to face these circumstances, but I don't feel good about her going through it. Society always blames the woman without even trying to know what happened. I need to do something so these people will shut their mouth about this incident once and for all. The baby-shower ceremony is going to be held after a month and a half so I should do something before that. After thinking for an hour or so, I got to know what to do.

Next morning I left for Bangalore. While leaving, Tanu asked me to get some cupcakes from her favorite bakery. When I reached the office Kishore had gathered the PR team in a conference room.

"Good morning, Sir." they greeted me.

"Good morning. Please have your seat. I have an announcement to make. I am opening a non-profit organization in the name of my wife Tanvi. This is a very important project. I don't want any mistakes here. Kishore will brief you guys more about it." I got up to leave.

I reached my office and made a call to my investigator.

"How is the Downfall of Alia going on?"

"Most of the investors have pulled out from her boutique. By the end of this month the company would dissolve."

"Good, has neither her father nor her brother tried helping her?"

"The word says her father wanted to help but her brother stopped him from doing so."

"Okay, that will be all." I cut the call.

I am still not satisfied with the news. I expect an apology from her to Tanu. But I won't force her to do so.

I had to look over some files and some deals were yet to be finalized. After going through half of the work. I decided to take a break.

I called Tanu.

"Hi tanu."

"Hi Shiva. Is your work over already?"

"Not yet baby. I am taking a break now. I have something to tell you tonight. Did you have fruits?"

"I had them. You remember I planted some tomato seeds when I came here right?"

"Yea I remember."

"The plant has grown and I can see some unriped tomatoes in it."

"That's awesome."

"Yeah, right? I am feeling so happy after seeing that. I want to have a vegetable garden too in our home when we go back."

"Anything you want, I will ask someone to get it ready." Although Tanu has not yet decisively told me whether she wants to stay with me after our baby is born, my mind eased on that subject after hearing her say 'our home'.

"No, we will do it from scratch. We will grow all our veggies there. Oh shit, I was making popcorn, and I forgot to switch off the stove. I think it got burnt. ma will kill me now. I will call you later."

"Ok baby. Take care." I smile at the thought of ma scolding Tanu for burning the popcorn.

My thoughts run towards my own mother, and I push the thought as fast as it came. I don't want to think about her. What she did was wrong, and she cannot justify it by saying that she did it for my own benefit. I heard from my investigator that she is going for therapy. I hope she gets help from it. I call dad twice a week and meet once a week. Today I am going to meet him for lunch.

My thoughts were broken from a phone call, it was from Mahir. Why is he calling me? I picked the call anyway.

"Hello Mahir."
