IT HAD BEEN DAYS SINCE CASSIE AND NATE HAD A PROPER CONVERSATION. the only times they would actually see each other or communicate were to pick up allison on weekends or days when they day care was closed since either one would drop and the other would pick up.
cassie walked inside nate and chuck's place to see the two standing in the kitchen. "hey cass, i'll let you two chat" chuck smiled at the blonde before coming her direction. "hey chuck and we aren't going to chat, i'm here for allison" cassie stated as nate gave her a look.
"shes in her carrier, let me say goodbye then you can have her" nate said as he picked his daughter up from her carrier and spun her around. "bye allie, i'm going to miss you! let's hope mommy doesn't lie to you" he said in a baby voice as cassie shot him a glare. "i heard that" she said as she picked up the carrier and saw serena coming in.
"ooh, are you two finally talking?" she asked with a smile, "nope, but i am leaving. bye serena" cassie touched her best friend's shoulder before leaving.
later that day, cassie waited for sage in the studio as she played with allison when sage came storming in, very angry. "well hello to you too" she smiled at the girl who was frowning. "guess what?! my dad is proposing to serena!" she yelled. "and thats a bad thing?" cassie raised a brow as sage sat down in front of her.
"yes! he can't marry her!" sage yelled as cassie picked up allison from her carrier and handed her to sage, "here, hold the child, it will make you feel better. now lets talk business" cassie spoke as she put her hands on her lap. "are you and nate any better?" sage asked, "nope, worse actually, lets start the business talk" cassie replied.
"the people like you sage, new york loves you. morally the stunt you pulled at the fashion show was wrong, but professionally it was a good move, your becoming more and more like me everyday" cassie smiled, "is that a good thing?" sage asked. "of course it is!" cassie laughed.
"look i created you a profile, so we need to get some music started and uploaded" cassie spun her laptop around to show sage.
"perfect, i have another way to get me some media attention" sage spoke as cassie took a sip of some water that was next to her. "i'm coming out tonight" sage stated as cassie spit out her water. "really, i'm so happy for you! and i'll support you no matter what!" cassie coughed, "i don't think you understand what i mean, i'm coming out at cotillion" sage explained as cassie let out an "oh" of understanding.
"can you come tonight?" she asked, "of course, wouldn't miss it" cassie smiled. "well i should go meet blair for my fitting, see you!" sage smiled at the girl before leaving. "blair?" cassie thought as she knew that was going to be a bad mix.
that night at cotillion, cassie and ryan had not told anyone about their news, except aubrey, but they both decided since chuck needs dirt against his father, cassie was going to tell him today.
she quickly approached ryan and aubrey to see them. "cassie!" aubrey smiled as she ran to hug her best friend. "you look gorgeous!" aubrey smiled as she admired the navy blue dress cassie was wearing. "thank you! you look lovely too, ryan's a lucky guy" cassie chuckled. "are you and nate talking?" ryan asked in hope that they made up since word spread fast that they were arguing since gossip girl had been on their backs about it.
"no, but i should find chuck to finally tell him the news, so bye guys!" cassie said as she walked away to go find chuck.
good news is, she found him! bad news, he was with nate. so cassie had forced herself to go up to them, with ryan's help.
"hey!" cassie smiled as she walked up to the two, as nate just stared at her, in cassie's mind she was thinking about how much he despised her, but in his mind he was admiring how amazing she looked. "cassie, you look amazing" chuck smiled taking the words out of nate's mouth as he had just told chuck that, "right nate?" he smirked as cassie shifted her gaze to the archibald who was still staring. "um, um, yeah i guess" he shrugged as cassie turned away, as nate gave the look to chuck.
"thanks guys" cassie said awkwardly, "chuck, can i steal you for a moment? its really important" the girl stammered as he nodded, following her away as cotillion was just beginning.
"if this is about reconciliation with nate, its about time" he smirked as she playfully rolled her eyes. "its too early, and not even close, its about your dad and my mom" cassie lowered her voice.
"the news hasn't been published yet, but my mom's dead" she started as his eyes widened. "cassie, i am so sorry" he gave a sincere look. "don't worry about it for now, she told me that she was having an affair with your dad, and bart's mine and ryan's real dad" cassie swallowed the lump in her throat as chuck stared into space. "your joking right?" he asked and she shook her head. "i'm really sorry" she spoke as he pulled her in for a hug. "don't be, i'm the one thats sorry" she said as she pulled away.
once it was sage's turn she pulled off her coat to reveal a gorgeous, white, cut out, dress that was made by blair and the crowd gasped in shock, but all cassie could do was be proud of her.
once the dancing started cassie stood at one of the tables watching all the debs dance as she drank her red wine, when nate approached.
"what was that about?" he asked, as she turned to him. "what was what about?" she questioned, "what you and chuck were talking about, he won't tell me. aw, was it advice for how to apologize?" nate asked as he touched his chest, "do you still think i'm a liar?" cassie asked as she glared at her husband. "sort of" he replied. "then it should be the opposite" she remarked as she turned around only to hear the music get cut off and a video start playing on the screen.
"what is that?" she asked as nate walked closer so he could get a better look. "is that chuck?" he asked, "no its dan" she replied now realizing it was dan hooking up with some girl, and the both of them trying to figure out who it was. "oh my god its serena!" cassie said loudly as dan started yelling at the vanderwoodsen in the video and she shifted her gaze over to see blair slapping dan and walking away, the blonde now feeling sorry for her best friend.
"i'm gonna go pick up allison from my dad's" she spoke before walking away, to avoid the awkwardness since dan was the whole reason she and nate were arguing.
