After her mother told Autumn that she was going to find Reece, she felt the urgent need to protect him. She took a deep breath before moving towards the nursery. She walked straight past the office and into the family room.

She knew that the office was always a buzz of people coming and going, and she didn't want her trauma to become this week's nursery gossip. It drove her crazy that people would talk about anything and everything, no matter how hurtful it could be.

She made the phone call to Reece quickly, explaining that their mother was back and full of surprises. "Just be ready for years to unfold differently to how we all thought. Call me later, " She told him before they hung up. Autumn made sure to act like what happened didn't affect her to help protect her brother.

As she went to open the door, she could see through the window and straight into the office. There, in the middle of the room, stood Mia and Marjorie. They looked deep in conversation, their hands animatedly waving around.

Autumn reached for that door handle, opening it slowly while taking a deep breath. She opened the door slowly before walking in and shutting it behind herself. Her movements were slow as she tried to process everything.

Mia looked at Autumn the moment she opened the door. "Aut, what happened?" She asked. She knew Autumn well. She could always tell when something was bothering her, and this was no exception.

Autumn sighed before taking a seat at her desk in the office. "Im furious! At her, at myself, at my father, at Reece! I let myself believe that she was going to say something nice about me, but no, all she could say was I'm a disappointment and how she wants to help with my babies. Well, actually Dorian, because boys need more love! She's already with Reece. I've only spoken to the woman for 2 minutes and now shes gone to find her fucking baby boy." By this point, Autumn had stood up and began to pace, her breathing was irregular.

"Aut, come here." Marjorie told her as she went to grab hold of Autumn's hand but Mia stopped her quickly, shaking her head.  "Let her come to one of us, you grabbing her now will make her snap or she will shut down and not talk to anyone." Mia explained quietly while keeping a close eye on her sister.

"She's back to ruin my kids lives, along with splitting me and Reece up after we just got eachother back, along with trying to bring me down again! AGAIN! SHE'S NOT GOING NEAR MY KIDS!" Autumn exclaimed before moving towards where the two women stood, Mia knew the cue and moved first. The redhead wrapped her arms around Autumn. "I won't let history repeat itself. If Reece trusts her again I will have words." Mia spoke calmly, she could feel Autumn shaking against her body.

Marjorie watched them both. She watched how both women looked after eachother and how well Mia knew how to help. "If anything happens i will talk to Reece. All you have to say to get him to listen is something about the twins and how he won't be in contact with them, he will listen in a heartbeat. He loves them and he also loves spending time with you.  Aut he won't go back to her after what she has done." Marjorie spoke quietly, she didn't want to push her way into the conversation between both Autumn and Mia.

Autumn suddenly pulled away from Mia, a worried expression on her face. "I need to call Winter. He needs to get Dori and Ems somewhere safe!" She panicked, pulling her phone from her pocket. "Autumn its oka-" Marjorie tried to talk to her but she was cut off by Mia once again. "Just let her. She needs this to help her feel in control again." Autumn spoke to Winter while the two women spoke to eachother, soon enough Autumn sighed again. "Hes taken them to his mum's house" She mumbled before sniffling slightly and falling back against Mia.

Time passed slow, Autumn stayed in Mia's embrace because that was where she felt the safest. She had always been there to comfort the younger woman growing up. "Aut I'm going to get you a drink, why dont you go and sit with Marjorie?" She offered. Mia knew Marjorie was desperate to comfort the younger woman. The redhead felt Autumn nod slightly against her chest, she carefully helped her up and over towards Marjorie.

While Mia was in the staff room, her phone rang from her back pocket. She waisted no time, answering it quietly when she saw the name come up on her screen. "Mia i need you to sit down but there is something important i have to tell you that other mother has decided to enlighten me with about your dad. I would come and talk to you but i need to go and see winter and the twins." Mia pulled a chair out slowly before sitting herself down. "Go on then, story time with Reece." She mumbled sarcastically, it was her way to hide how she was really feeling.

Tears rolled down Mia's cheeks as Reece told her about how her dad went to Roger for help and how he didn't leave with their mother. "I spent all that time being manipulated for nothing" she spat, pain clear in her tone. "Go and find Char or Aut for a bit. Dont go throwing yourself into work" He told her calmly though the phone. Reece knew her well enough to know when she was actually hurting. "I will speak to you later" she muttered before hanging up.

Mia picked up the drink she made for Autumn and wondered back to the office. She sighed as she watched Autumn smiling slightly at Marjorie waffling about something that happened on her cruise. "I'm going to put Chloe in the room and I-I'm taking Char out." She mumbled while fiddling with the sleeve of her shirt. "No, I will go and sort that out. You just stay here." Marjorie told her quickly before moving towards the door.

Once it was just the two woman, Mia let her shoulders slump in defeat. "He went to your father willingly, they never left together. We aren't step sisters." Mia muttered, tears in her eyes but she refused to let them fall, not just yet anyway. "What are you talking about?" Autumn questioned quietly before standing up and moving closer. "Just call your brother! Your mother shared more secrets with him. I don't know. " She raised her voice making Autumn step back. "You act like i knew! I was younger than you!"

The raised voices could be heard down the corridor. The second Charlotte heard Mia and Autumn yelling at eachother, she dragged Marjorie quickly to help them both. Charlotte moved, opening the office door and moving towards her girlfriend. "Amelia enough!" Charlotte warned her while Marjorie stood next to Autumn, she was close enough to offer support without any physical contact.

Mia looked at Charlotte, hurt plastered on her face. "Char, please" she mumbled nervously while looking between her girlfriend and Autumn. "Both of you go to the family room or out to your car." Marjorie told Charlotte, she took hold of Mia's hand and dragged her into the family room.

Charlotte let go of Mias hand while shutting the door. "Baby, i know its not easy having Adeline back but you cant take it out on Autumn. Its not her fault." Charlotte spoke calmly but Mia shook her head quickly, tears rolled down her cheeks. "Char, please please don't do this." She whispered as tears began to fall. "My dad went to Rog and then hid. He didn't care about me. I lost myself for nothing! NOTHING CHARLOTTE!" She shouted

Charlotte sighed, opening her arms slowly for Mia. She was careful not to make any sudden movements that would startle her girlfriend. The redhead fell into her girlfriends arms quietly. "I yelled at Aut. She didn't do anything wrong. I shouted because we aren't sisters. Her mum didn't run with him." She mumbled while tears rolled down her cheeks.

She kept her arms wrapped around Mia. "I didn't mean to yell at her." Charlotte nodded slightly. "Baby it's okay. She will be okay plus Marj is with her." Mia nodded and let herself relax against her girlfriend.

By the time Mia had calmed down and gone to the office, Autumn had not only calmed down but she had started replying to Mias emails. Mia pushed open the door slowly before closing it. Her eyes were still red, it was clear she had been crying. "Aut, i am so sorry." She mumbled nervously while perching on the edge of her desk. "It doesn’t matter. We are all going to Winter's mum house tonight so we can all talk plus she won't know where we are. Its all sorted, char can come aswell." Autumn told her before moving, standing up and wrapping her arms around Mia. "I love you big sis." She whispered. Mia returned the hug. "I love you to little sis." They stayed like that for a while before letting go. "Get back to work." She whispered with a smirk on her face.
