It was all a dream pt 2 - AFK & WFK & AMR & CV

At last, it was all peaceful. Autumn was thankfully asleep in between Mia and Winter, her chest rising and falling under the covers. Winter kept his arms wrapped around her waist protectively so she knew he was there all the while, Mia held her hand,  gently tracing patterns to keep her grounded. Just as Mia thought that they were settled enough for her to relax and close her eyes, her phone rang through the silence next to her on the bedside table.

The red head moved quickly to get to her phone before it woke anyone. "Shh, it's okay." She hushed Autumn as she stired while answering the call. She watched as Winter instinctively pulled his wife closer to his chest. "Mia, where are you?" Charlotte asked, her voice thick with sleep and worry. "Sweetheart, I'm at Autumn's. I did leave you a note, but she had a nightmare, and she spiralled into a panic attack. They are asleep now but I am going to stay here the night, just in case." Mia explained calmly. "Oh, oh okay. Yeah, okay. Is Autumn feeling better?" Charlotte stuttered with sadness in her voice. "She's okay, she's asleep and Winter is with her." Mia whispered calmly. "So you are sure that you aren't coming home tonight?" Charlotte asked, her voice breaking slightly, but she tried her best to cover it up. Just as Mia went to respond, the silence in the room was broken.  "She can stay too." Autumn whispered, her eyes still closed.

"Sweetheart,  come and stay here the night, please. Aut apparently isn't asleep and said for you to stay, and to be honest, i think we all need a Char hug." Mia whispered calmly. "I will be there soon. " Charlotte told her while pulling on one of Mias hoodies. "Let yourself in with the spare key. We are all in Aut's room." Mia whispered before they said their goodbyes.

"Thank you, Aut. I really thought we were going to have tears for a moment there." Mia whispered, knowing the younger woman was awake. Autumn sighed. "I've stolen you from her. I would be sad if I woke up and winter was gone." She mumbled nervously before sniffling slightly. "Shh, he's here, and so am I. I will stay with you even with Charlotte here, don't worry." The redhead hushed before pulling Autumn against her chest as Winter rolled over.

After a while, Autumn jumped as the bedroom door was pushed open. "Mia?" Charlotte whispered nervously before creeping inside the door. "She's here, Char. I just needed a hug, but i will move. I know you need a hug too." Autumn whispered quietly while holding onto Mia before slowly moving back.

"I just need a hug and maybe a kiss, then i will sleep downstairs." Charlotte whispered, but Autumn shook her head. "I'm okay. Mia,you can go in the spare room if you want.  I've got winter." After a long discussion and lots of reassurance, Mia soon found herself cuddling with Charlotte. The brunette was nearly asleep when Mia moved slightly.

She looked towards the door. "Aut, i know your footsteps a mile off, come here." Mia whispered calmly before the door slowly opened. "What's wrong? I know that face." The redhead questioned quietly, making space for Autumn, but she shook her head. "It's starting again. I feel it." She whispered before pinching at her arm. Mia knew this was her way of staying grounded, but after years of experience, she had learnt different techniques that also help. "Middle or edge?" Mia questioned while still trying to keep Charlotte settled, but the more they spoke, the more alert she became. "Edge, sit." She mumbled nervously before taking a step closer to Mia.

She took time to explain to Autumn that Charlotte was there with them in case she moved. Mia knew Autumn better than she knew herself and knew that Autumn would startle and panic further without being warned first. "Come and sit with me." Mia whispered calmly before reaching out her hand. Autumn sighed before moving slowly to sit next to Mia, holding her hand tightly.

"You can stay in here with us. Char gives great cuddles so you can sleep in the middle." Mia whispered calmly, Autumn nodded in agreement. They moved slowly, trying to be quiet because they thought Charlotte was asleep even though she wasn't.

It didn't take long for both women to be settled. Autumn cuddled herself close to Mia, while the red head put her arm around her. "Go to sleep now, okay." She whispered.

Autumn was the last to wake up, and by the time morning rolled around, she had cuddled herself into Charlotte's side while the brunette held her close. Mia watched closely while gently playing with Charlottes hair. "She is so peaceful." Winter's voice came quietly from the doorway. "She's okay. she panicked again and didn't want to wake you." Mia told him. "She's safe with you both, so i will make a start on breakfast. " He told them both calmly before moving away.

As the door closed behind him, Autumn jumped awake, holding on to Charlotte tightly. "Shh, it's okay." Mia spoke calmly before placing her hand on Autumn's back. "Be gentle, Aut, you are hugging Char and not me. She won't be used to how tight your hugs get." She whispered. Autumn's eyes shot open as she looked at Charlotte. She quickly let go and moved away.

"You are okay." Charlotte whispered before pulling her closer again and holding her against her chest. Mia watched closely as Autumn allowed her herself to be held.

Hours had passed since the couples had breakfast, and they were now sitting in the living room. "What happened last night Aut, to make you panic this much?" Mia questioned quietly, holding onto her hand. She sighed before moving to hide her head into Winter's chest. "It was a nightmare.  I was struggling and alone with the twins. No one was answering my calls, and they started crying, but i was crying and couldn't look after them, and no one was there no matter who i called."

They all listened intently to Autumn as she told her story, clinging tightly to Winter as he kept his arms around her. "It was just a bad dream. We are all here for you, and at least one of us would answer." Mia whispered calmly before moving Autumn to look at her. "Come here," the redhead hushed. Autumn nodded slightly before moving to wrap her arms around her tightly. "Autumn,  you are okay. Your babies are both okay, and they are lucky to have you and Winter." Charlotte whispered nervously, not knowing quite how to help.

It didn't take long for everyone to find a sense of calm again. Mia and Charlotte had gone back home after promising to keep their phones close and loud just in case. Meanwhile, Winter did everything in his power to prove to Autumn that she was an amazing mother to their children and a perfect wife.
