It had been a long day at the Knight Nursery. After their nine hour long shifts, Mia and Char were finally on their way home. While in the car, Charlotte reaches over the console, trying to hold Mia's hand, but to the brunettes surprise, she pushes her away.
"Amelia, what was that for? I promise my hands are clean." She questioned playfully, assuming Mia was joking with her. Charlotte wasn't expecting the response she got from the redhead. "Nobody refers to me as Amelia. Not you, no one!" Mia scolded, raising her voice to try and hide how broken she felt.
"Okay baby, i'm sorry. I didn't know that it upset you, I would stop." Charlotte spoke calmly as she reached her hand out to her girlfriend, wanting to be close to her after she yelled.
"Don't call me baby! It's Mia with an M and nothing else!" She yelled at Charlotte once again, looking her up and down before pushing her hand away harshly and carrying on like nothing happened.
Charlotte nodded slowly, tear appearing in her eyes. "O-okay. Can you drop me off at Sorschas, please?" Charlotte asked quietly while looking out the window. Mia didn't respond, didn't question. She just started indicating in the direction of Sorscha's house.
Charlotte whispered a quiet "Thank you" before climbing out of the car and shutting the door. The redhead rolled down the window to talk to Charlotte. "I'm going to the house. I trust you can get back. They can both drive, but just know, i won't wait up." Mia told her with a cold tone before driving away.
The brunette walked up to the front door after Mia drove off. Leaving Charlotte without knowing if she got inside safely or not. Hot tears rolled down her cheeks as the front door opened. "Oh hey Charlotte." Clodagh spoke cheerfully before noticing the tears immediately. She gave Charlotte a small reassuring smile before gesturing for her to come inside. Clodagh has always been attuned to others' emotions and was amazing at looking after others. "Sorscha, come here. Now!" She yelled over her shoulder before opening her arms. "Come here." She whispered while trying to keep calm. Charlotte melted into her embrace, the tears falling quicker now. "You okay, Clo?" The Irish woman questioned before spotting her friend falling apart in her wife's arms.
"Charlie?" Sorscha whispered softly. "What's got you so upset?" She questioned nervously while moving towards them both, placing her hand on Charlottes back. "I will make us all a coffee, and you two can go into the living room." Clodagh spoke calmly while slowly letting go of Charlotte and guiding her towards the living room with Sorscha.
They made their way into the living room, sitting next to each other on the couch. "So, what's all this about?" Her friend questioned, making more tear well up in her eyes. "Sorscha, you dont get it. She's told me not to call her Amelia and that no one calls her that. She said that at the very start of our relationship, but she soon trusted me." Charlotte whispered nervously while trying to hide her feelings. "She didn't call our house home, she said the house as well and when she dropped me off, she just left and didn't wait for someone to answer the door." Charlotte got out, her voice breaking. "Charlie, you are overthinking it. She's fine." Sorscha told her calmly while carrying on with what she was doing. "No, she's being indifferent towards me." She mumbled nervously while biting her nails.
The Irish woman couldn't sit and listen to Charlotte going on much more. "Get up, we are going to find her." She told Charlotte sternly. "Sorscha Doyle, sit down and be supportive. You going over and shouting won't change how Charlotte is feeling." Clodagh warned before joining them on the couch.
Sorscha sighed before slumping back down. "Just look after her. She's breaking her heart." Clodagh whispered before gently wiping away Charlotte's tears. "Please stay with her."
Charlotte moved slowly, leaning against Clodagh. "I don't care. You can go." Charlotte whispered nervously before sniffling again. Sorscha stood up quickly. "I will be back with answers." The Irish woman told her confidently.

An hour had passed when the front door of Sorschas house opened, and the sound of footsteps filled the quiet space. "Shh, she's asleep." Clodagh whisper yelled while continuing to stroke Charlottes hair. Sorscha stopped in the doorway, Mia next to her. "She cried herself to sleep, didn't she?" Mia questioned nervously as she watched Clodagh nod. "She got herself really worked up, so actually, i think it's better that she's asleep. Her breathing has evened out a lot more. She was nearly sick earlier because of it." Clodagh snapped, she couldnt help it.
"Babe, please snapping isn't going to help either of them. I've already spoken to Mia, and it's a misunderstanding on both sides." Sorscha told her wife's just as Charlotte stired. "Clodagh, you need to hold onto her and pull her close because she will wake up and start crying again. I would, but that wouldn't help." The redhead explained quietly before watching Clodagh closely.
As if right on cue, Charlotte woke up from her sleep and clung to Clodagh tightly. "I-im sorry." She mumbled nervously but not pulling away. "Charlie, Mia is here if you want a hug from her, but when you have calmed down, i have a story to tell you." Sorscha told her. She just nodded slightly before turning to look at Mia.
She could see the pain in her eyes and could tell that Charlotte had been crying for a long time because of the red blotches under her eyes. "Sweetheart, come here." The redhead hushed as she opened her arms. Even though Charlotte was emotionally drained because of Mias actions, she couldn't help but want to be in her arms.
Clodagh helped Charlotte to her feet, making sure she was stable before letting her go. She crossed the room before falling into Mias embrace. The second she felt her arms around her, tears started flowing again. "I-I-i... Mia, I... us over." She sobbed into her chest, her tears soaking through Mia's hoodie. "Charlie, breathe. I will go and get you some water." Sorscha whispered softly while moving towards the door.
Mia moved slowly with Charlotte, sitting them both onto the couch. "Charlotte, breathe with me." Clodagh instructed as Mia sat her up more. It wasn't long till she was calm again. "I feel tired." She whispered as Sorscha entered with the promised glass of water. Charlotte took small sips.
"Charlie, Mia was upset because she heard us in the baby room hiding from Geraldine. Because she only heard part of the conversation, she thought that maybe you were cheating. I've already explained everything to her." Sorscha told her calmly while watching their reactions. "Oh baby. I am so sorry. I love you and only you. I thought you hated me." Charlotte whispered nervously before brushing Mias hair from her face.

An hour later and the couple were soon back in their own home, wrapped up in eachothers arms, with their favourite forest green blanket drapped over their legs. "I could stay here forever." Mia whispered before looking down to see Charlotte sleeping peacefully, her head on her chest. "Sweet dreams, baby. I love you."Mia whispered before kissing the top of her head, earning a soft "hmm" from Charlotte.
