I will always love you - WFK & AFK

"Autumn I'm sorry that you have been here all day with your brother and the twins but right now i'm going to have a shower. I will be back then i will take over with them." He muttered before moving away from his wife, going upstairs quickly.

She sighs sadly but quickly covers it up. Normally, Winter would come home and the couple would share a moment together in eachothers arms after spending the day apart. He had obviously had a bad day and showering was his way to relax. This wasn't about her or how she was feeling but it still hurt.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Winter had made his way into the bathroom. The shower was running, filling the room with steam. He had made sure to turn it up high. His normal warm shower had been replaced with a hot shower.

Stepping in he winced slightly but that didn't stop him from easing himself into the water. Yes it was hurting but he didn't stop. He slowly made his way through his showering routine while the hot water pattered against his skin.

After twenty minutes Autumn got concerned. She know that her husband was never one for long showers. Autumn sighed before making her way up the stairs while the twins were both asleep. She stopped outside the bathroom door before knocking on it gently. "My love are you okay?" She asked softly but she was just met with silence. "Winter I'm coming in." She told him before slowly opening the door.

The steam and the heat of the room hit Autumn immediately. "Winter what's going on? This shower is way to hot for you. You know your skin is sensitive." She spoke calmly, picking up a towel for her husband. "Time to get out my sweet." She hushed before turning off the water and holding his towel up for him.

He rolled his eyes before stepping out of the shower, allowing his wife to wrap him up. His back was bright red and clearly irritated. "The twins need you more than i do." He muttered, he wanted to be alone even though Autumn was just trying to help him. "They are asleep but i can give you space." She whispered while rubbing the tops of his arms gently.

He didn’t reply so Autumn took the hint and just moved away slowly,  finding him a change of clothes to get dressed into. She placed them on the end of the bed for him before moving towards the door. "I will be here if you need me, just shout." She spoke before shutting the door behind herself.

Stress filled Autumn, she hated when something was bothering Winter because she knew that he would have held onto it all day and act like nothing happened till he was home. She made her way to the kitchen and boiled the kettle to make Winter his post work coffee. It was part of his routine and something that he always done.

Once the coffee was made she sowly made her way up to the bedroom with the mug in hand. "My love, i have your coffee." She spoke calmly as she opened the door. What she found inside didnt sit right. To find Winter curled up in bed, the curtains closed and the room dark was unnerving. This wasn't him.

She made her way across the room slowly as not to startle him. "My love you can stay here but please can you talk to me and not just shut yourself away?" She asked while placing the coffee down on the side table before kissing the top of his head. "Bad day." Was all he muttered while reaching his hand out to his wife. She took it, rubbing her thumb over his knuckles. "I'm here my love." She whispered while glancing at the monitor. "Are they asleep?" He questioned quietly to which his wife smiled softly before nodding. "I was to busy sulking and now they didn't get cuddles from me before bed." He sighed, letting go of Autumn's hand and rolling over.

Autumn took a step back. "I will make dinner and bring it up to eat in bed with you." She whispered before moving away from Winter. "I love you" she threw over her shoulder only to be met by a sigh. She knew that he loved her even if it wasn't said.

It didn't take long for Autumn to appear in the doorway with a pizza box in hand. "I thought a take away might be better for the occasion.  The twins are both asleep in their room so I'm now all yours." She spoke as she made her way to the bed. "Not hungry but thank you." He muttered while keeping his back towards his wife. She placed the box down before sitting down next to him.

Autumn shuffled closer to her husband before reaching out her hand. "Please talk to me or i will call Sorscha or Mia and they can tell me. Yes I checked your shifts so i know who you were in the room with." She whispered but he didn't say anything. He just rolled over, wrapping his arms around her tightly. "My sweet,  just hug me please." Autumn said nothing but wrapped her arms around her husband tightly.

The couple stayed cuddled up together for what seemed like hours when Winter finally moved away. "I love you." He whispered. Autumn smiled softly before kissing his cheek. "I love you." She responded while keeping an eye on her husband.

"Today has been horrible. I fell out with Charlotte and Sorscha had to get us apart to stop us.  Charlotte cried because of me.  Sorscha took her to Mia so she was fine after." He finally gave up and told her. Autumn sighed before giving Winter a knowing look. "Don't look at me like that! Its been a long day for us all and everything felt to much and she was just the final thing to set me off." He mumbled while trying to move closer to Autumn. "You need to call or message her now please." She told him confidently.

Winter picked up his phone and typed out a message before deleting it and trying again. "I've messaged her." He finally whispered again just as Autumn's phone buzzed next to her. "It's Mia. I will be back" she told him before moving to answer the call.

At least twenty minutes had passed by the time Autumn walked back into the room. "What did you say to her? I haven't heard Mia this mad in years." She spoke calmly before sitting down on the bed. "I-i made a dig about char and Mia and her ex. It was horrible but we were both throwing insults at eachother." He admitted before sighing. "Whatever left your mouth has her still crying to Mia." She snapped at him. She didn't mean to snap but after listening to Mia on the phone she couldn't help herself.

He slowly got out of bed before moving towards the window. "I told her that i can understand why her husband left her and I told her that mia will see the real her and leave aswell." He muttered, not looking at his wife. "Well your little moment has set her off into a spiral and now shes still crying to Mia. I know she said stuff back but you need to be the bigger person and walk away to cool off. You know better my love. Then this conversation would be very different." She whispered while moving closer and wrapping her arms around him gently.

Winter allowed himself to relax against his wife's embrace. "I did message her. I didnt mean it, it just came out." He whispered again. Autumn ran her nails through his hair gently. "Mia is with her and we all know how they feel about eachother. Just give her some time." She soothed before guiding her husband to sit down on the bed. "Eat while we wait to hear from one of them." She hushed while opening the pizza box. "Stressing won't change anything now."

Hours had passed. The couple had shared the pizza and Winter went to the twins when they needed to be changed. By the time Winters phone lit up with a message, they were snuggled up in bed. He rolled over slowly to see Charlotte's name being on the screen. He took a deep breath before moving towards look at it. "She forgives me." He muttered while looking at his wife.

Winter took his time to type out a response before rolling over and cuddling into his wife. "Thank you for still loving me." He whispered as she kissed the top of his head. "I will always love you."
