Y/n pressed one last kiss against her temple, and then leaned back with a smirk. "I can't believe we're making out on a workbench. Very sensual indeed."

Ahsoka grinned and then swung her legs off the table so that she was sitting, and not leaning on top of him.

Then there was a momentary pause; she hesitated and briefly frowned, before saying, "y/n, don't get me wrong, your being here just...makes me feel complete in a way that I hadn't felt since I left the Order, but what are you doing here? Why haven't you returned to the Temple?"

His expression turned more serious and he pulled himself to the edge of the bench to sit beside her, their legs dangling off the sides and their shoulders brushing.

"I think they think I'm dead," he gave a small grin. "Either way, I don't think they would expect me to show up anytime soon."

He suddenly turned to look at her with a burning intensity in his eyes. "If I died, you'd come back and attend my funeral, right?"

"N/n, don't say that," she punched his shoulder.

"Death is a natural part of life," he shrugged. "I would just want you to be there, and I want to be remembered as a hero. But I digress."

Y/n exhaled before continuing. "Anyways, the mission on Giitiing isn't complete, for me at least. Windu will report back to the Council on the Separatist presence and how they've been mining under the ancient Temple. The Council will retaliate somehow, maybe bring conflict to the planet. But remember how I told you about the kid who was taken by the clankers? That's who I'm worried about. I have a feeling the Council will neglect that part of the problem. They usually only see the enemy and not the civilian casualties," he finished with a gloomier tone.

"So you want to return, after you almost killed yourself, and save the kid?" Ahsoka asked, crossing her arms.

"Precisely. Will you come?"

Smiling, she immediately opened her mouth and was about to agree, but caught herself at the last moment. Was this interfering with Jedi affairs? Wasn't she walking back into the life she so painfully had to leave?

Having known her for so long and immediately reading the expression in her eyes and the hesitance in her composure, y/n took her hand and wrapped it in both of his. "Please, Ahsoka? I've missed you. If I was cheesy, I would tell you that, the entire time flying back to Coruscant I was thinking about how much I wanted to see you...but I'm not cheesy so I won't say that. But honestly, I don't even know how I found you, I just let the Force take me here. Surely, come with me 'Soka. It'll be just like a mission in the old times. The Council won't know."

Y/n gazed at her imploringly, and she looked back into his familiar e/c eyes.

"Okay, n/n," she finally nodded, reaching across to gently trace his scar with her fingertips. "I'll come."

His face broke out into a huge grin and he leaned into her touch, and Ahsoka couldn't help but the smile that pulled at her lips.

"How are you going to find the child though?" she asked, the back of her brain carefully assessing what she and y/n were about to do. "You said some Separatists escaped through the tunnels, but I don't assume you'll be able to follow them since the Temple has collapsed?"

"Well, thank you for asking!" He leapt off the bench and jogged back outside to his ship, returning a moment later holding an object behind his back.

"Ahsoka, meet Roger. Roger, meet Ahsoka," He revealed the decapitated head of a tactical droid, severed wires still dangling from what would have been its neck. It was severely dented on the left side and covered in scratches. Its narrow, rectangular lamp-like eyes were cracked and lifeless.
