As soon as they entered, they felt as though they had stepped inside a bubble. It was distinctly harder to breathe, and the atmosphere pressed down on them from all sides.

The door to the adjacent room slid shut immediately, and the one-way window disappeared, replaced by the continuous grey wall.

Ahsoka and y/n exchanged a glance before they both hurried over to the child.

The boy was stooped over, almost hugging the holocron which looked oversized in his small lap. A few locks of brown hair peaked out from under a worn, knitted beanie that partially covered his half-closed eyes.

"Hey, buddy," y/n said gently as he and Ahsoka knelt. "Can you hear me?"

The boy mumbled something indistinguishable and slowly opened his eyes.

Ahsoka gently prised the holocron out of his hands, noting his tear-stained cheeks and the droplets of tears on the holocron. "Hello there, what's your name?"

"J-Juke."

"Don't worry, Juke. We're here to help you," y/n said assuredly. His eyes met Ahsoka's, and he pointed discretely with his chin to Juke's hands. A thick pair of manacles bound his hands and his feet together.

Her eyes narrowed and she took one of the lightsabers from her belt before trying to ignite it, but to no avail.

The odd feeling and pressure of the room made sense now.

"This whole room is a containment field with a gravitational chamber," she whispered to y/n. "Hexa Renou said ten minutes, right? Before all the oxygen is forced out."

"No wonder he can't open the holocron; we can't even access the Force in here." He scowled before turning back to Juke with a cheerful smile, completely hiding his expression. Ahsoka watched him as he spoke, slightly bewildered by the naturalness of his demeanour.

"Hang in there. We're going to help you out, alright?"

"Are we...going to run out of air?" the boy managed to say feebly.

"Juke, I'm y/n, and this is Ahsoka. And we're not going to let anything happen to you, okay?"

"Ever heard of Jedi meditation?" she asked, her tone light. "Helps when we're scared."

Juke turned towards her and gave a small nod. "Will it help me breathe?"

"It helps your heart slow down. Calmer heart, slower breaths. Like floating in space," she explained. "Here, grab out hands."

y/n and Ahsoka sat themselves on the ground close together, supporting Juke's slightly limp body between them. As Juke took one of their hands, they grabbed each other's with their free one.

"Watch me," Ahsoka demonstrated. "In through the nose, out through the mouth. Long and slow." The three of them quickly synchronised their breaths, and she could feel y/n's familiar presence beside her, their heartbeats in time.

Even though the containment field disrupted their connection to the Force, she could predict his thoughts through his body language. Juke was growing more responsive and was unhurt. But now, they were worried about the limited oxygen.

Their gazes met and after a moment, the two exchanged a dark look. They were trapped, with no way to use the Force or y/n's lightsabers, no way to unlock the artefact and appease Hexa Renou.

In a few more minutes the gravitational chamber would have sucked out all the remaining oxygen from the room. Ahsoka could feel their hearts pumping with more effort now, her breath already quickening.
