Happy new year! Dang it's 2025...and I still haven't finished this story...but

thank you so much for over 410k reads!!! And WOO we held #1 in ahsokatano for a while

You guys rock. I hope you enjoy this chappie and hopefully I'll have another one out in a week (to make up for my long hiatus).

Ahsoka felt her spine tingle as she looked down at the ruins of the old Giitiing Temple. She reached for y/n's hand.

"You said you were underground?" Her voice was incredulous, and although anyone else wouldn't have noticed, he could detect the underlying worry in her tone.

"Yup. Held the entire thing above my Master Windu and me," y/n replied with a self-satisfied smirk. "It was like holding up the sky."

He glanced at Ahsoka and saw her expression.

"What?" He narrowed his eyes in self-defence. "I can afford to be cocky now that the whole fiasco is over."

"Whatever," she scoffed with a small smile.

The ship continued cruising over the remains of the temple and the small, squat dwellings of the villagers. Although the settlement was still primitive compared to Coruscant, below, it was buzzing with activity and the buildings sprawled for klicks.

"I wonder if they can sense how powerful the Force is here," Ahsoka mused. She hadn't spoken the word 'Force' out loud ever since she had left the Order, despite still feeling it surrounding her every day.

"I don't know, but the Jedi have had a long history here," y/n pointed with his chin towards a group of ancient-looking buildings that had the same architectural similarities as the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, albeit in the High Republic fashion.

A few minutes passed before the main city of Giitiing disappeared over the horizon. The natural terrain was pockmarked with numerous ditches, gorges, and seemingly random holes of all different shapes and sizes. Wizened trees grew out of the olive-coloured soil, their roots forming knots along the edge of the irregular pits.

"What do you think all those holes are?" Y/n asked.

The Togruta shrugged, and they watched the landscape in companionable silence.

A sudden flashing caused Ahsoka to look down at the flight controls.

"We've arrived at Roger's coordinates. I'm bringing the ship down," she informed.

Her hands guided the controls and she acted out of muscle memory, all the hours of starfighter dogfighting and the space adventures with Obi-Wan and Anakin flooding her mind.

As they landed with a small lurch, y/n unlocked the boarding hatch and they climbed outside.

The ship was perched on the edge of one of the distinctive craters. Standing on the rim, the two looked down at the roughly triangular-shaped ditch.

It was about the size of a star destroyers' bridge, and gently sloped downwards. A few steps down, the greenish soil transitioned into grainy yellow sand and loose pebbles.

Somehow, despite the angle of Giitiing's sun being directly above them, the sunlight only managed to penetrate a few metres deep into the crater. The centre of the hole was strangely obscured in darkness.

"Shall we?" Ahsoka turned to y/n.

He gave a mocking bow. "Ladies first."

Rolling her eyes, Ahsoka began to make her way into the darkened depths. At the last moment, y/n sprung in front of her and strode gaily into the shadows before her.
