Moments of Truth

AN: A year ago, I was writing this Mialotte arc, and I knew I was going to run into trouble and needed a carefully worded trigger warning. I made a quiet request to other writers and hoped for the best. I had no idea how that was going to alter my life forever.

Toni came into my life that evening shy and unassuming. Neither of us stayed that way for very long. By the end of the week, I was taking a million screenshots to get the perfect Marj. I drew that first Marj for her without question. She didn't ask for it, but I somehow knew it would brighten her day.

Over the course of the last 365 days, I've drawn Marj 18 more times for her. I've altered the course of Marjoreece in Generations for her. I've written whole new books with her in mind. What goes often unspoken is everything she's done for me. She became someone to share secrets with, to brainstorm my craziest ideas and completely left-field theories. She became a reason. A reason to smile, to laugh, to write, and to be the best version of her best friend that I can be. She sang me a song on my birthday! She's held me up when I was down and she held me down when I was way too far up.

If your lucky enough to have a best friend, cherish them everyday. If you aren't, go and find one, but stay away from Thenurserynursefan1 . She's mine!

Love you Goose,

Aidey 💚💙💛

Therapy

Veronica adjusted in her seat, tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ear as she listened intently to the redhead's explanation. "It's not about secrecy; we're trying to protect them." Her eyes met the green gaze, and she posed a thoughtful question: "Mia, have you considered that Charlotte might not want your protection? Maybe none of them do?" Mia's perplexed expression was a rare sight. "Don't you think they can take care of themselves?" the brunette asked, her eyes searching for answers. "Wouldn't it be better for her to know something's going on, considering you have no idea who this person is?" Mia felt her frustration building up. "Veronica, I'm having trouble understanding why we're paying you so much money if you can't even provide us with some insight. It's obvious that she wants to be protected -everyone wants that?"

The brunette's eyebrows shot up, her expression a mix of surprise and skepticism. "Did Charlotte tell you that you needed to protect her or your family?" The redhead's eyes darted from side to side, as if searching for the right answer. "Not exactly, no." The dark-haired woman sank into her own seat, a satisfied look on her face. "Perhaps it is time you have that conversation with your wife. Oh, and Mia you lot don't pay me nearly enough to pay for my own therapy." The redhead let out a frustrated sigh, rolling her eyes as she stood up. 'Just once, I'd love to leave here with fewer questions than I arrived with.' She sashayed past the dark-haired woman, heading for the door. 'See you next week?' The brunette chuckled and nodded, rolling her eyes in amusement.

The redhead's thoughts drifted back to the conversation from earlier that morning as she made her way across the carpark, the memory unfolding slowly in her mind.

"Amelia Mae what is that supposed to mean? What are you hiding from me?" She diverted her eyes from the brunette. "Char now is not the time. I need to get the girls to school, or I am going to be late for my appointment." The air was thick with unspoken words as they moved around each other, their silence a heavy burden. As she watched her partner cross her arms, she felt an overwhelming urge to pull her into a warm embrace, but she knew this wasn't the right moment for that either.

She pushed the thought aside as she gazed at her phone, her eyes fixed on his name as she tapped the message. Even after all these years, he was still her go-to person when life got tough.
