All the staff had left for the day and she and Sorscha were the only one's left in the building. Her intent was to have Sorscha be as prepared as possible, but she still felt like she was leaving something out. She still had a few days until her due date, and she hadn't taken maternity leave this early with Emery. So, she knew a lot of it was just anxiety. As her anxiety heightened, Reece's anxiety seemed to decrease exponentially. She thought that was probably a blessing because she didn't want to know how they would behave if they were both anxious and struggling for the next few days or so before the baby comes.

"Sorscha on the days you go to school either Mia or Autumn will come and run the nursery. If your schedule changes let them know right away so they can make sure you are covered." Even Siobhan said she would cover if she was needed. She has maintained her qualifications although she couldn't see a future need for them. "Obviously, if you have questions, Charlotte is a phone call away, and until this little one comes you can still call me"

"Marjorie let's go on home. You have repeated that three times now. I understand. Go start your mat leave and relax. This energy is why your doctor wants you off now." Marjorie knew she was right. Sorscha was fully capable of handling just about anything in the nursery.

"Okay, my love. Let's lock up."

As she arrived home, she took a deep breath. Getting Emery into the car seat had really taken it out of her. It had only been the last week or so that she was starting to struggle. Emery had laid heavy on her hips and sciatic nerve, but this little on seemed to want to live in her lungs. She took another deep breath and opened the door just as Reece pulled in.

He practically leapt from his car. "I will get him, gorgeous." He knew she was starting to struggle. Not only with getting him in and out of the car, but also carrying him around in general. "Go on in, that way he doesn't fuss." It seemed like the more she struggled the more the little boy wanted her and only her, so she often chose to struggle rather than feel guilty.

As soon as Reece got him in the house, Emery ran to Marjorie and climbed up into her lap wrapping his little arms around her neck. "Reece do you think he knows? He has been clingy for the past week or so. Do you think he knows that the baby is coming soon?"

"Yeah, gorgeous, I think he definitely senses something is happening or is going to happen." They had spent the last weekend moving him from the nursery into his own room. She had spent the last month planning and decorating it for him. Truthfully, he still slept with them two to three nights a week. Neither of them was complaining though. All either of them could think about was how these were their last moments of it just being the three of them. They lavished him with as much attention as they could.

She got up and he followed. That was his new routine. "Reece, I am going up to lie down. He can come with me, but I just need to lie down." Laying on her side seemed to take some of the pressure off and she could really use the relief right now.

A stabbing pain went through her as she reached the base of the stairs, and she just managed to move Emery out of the way before the gush happened.

Reece stopped dead in his tracks on his way to start dinner in the kitchen. He quickly made his way to them and picked up Emery to keep him from the fluids.

"Well, gorgeous it looks like you took mat leave just in time."
