Winter and Autumn were both a little exhausted after the week and then the announcement party. They both just wanted to spend the weekend at home and resting. They liked going out with their friends from time to time and they loved their jobs, but there were times when the couple just wanted to be home and in each other's company. They had learned early on that their social energies were perfectly matched, but rather than being an additional drain to one another they seemed to energize when only in each others company. Thankfully Liliana seemed to have the same effect on them.

So, a weekend in was just what they needed. When she woke that morning, he was already downstairs. He had one of their favorite Billie Holiday records playing softly in the background while he made breakfast and tidied up the kitchen. She stood just out of sight with a broad smile on her face. He was in there singing along 🎶Good morning, heartache. You old gloomy sight. Good morning, heartache. Thought we said goodbye last night 🎶

In moments like this the masks were off. He was his romantic, old song singing self, and she was a smiling happy wife and mother of the most beautiful little girl. She came through and sang along with him 🎶 Got those Monday blues. Straight through Sunday blues🎶 She swayed to the music as she made her way to him with Lili on her hip. He pulled her into his arms, and she wrapped one arm around his neck and pulled him into a kiss. There lips met with a smile and a giggling little girl.

This was a perfect morning for the little family. They sat together and enjoyed their breakfast and each other's company. He continued to sing as the song struck his fancy and she continued to adore him from across the table. In the moment they were an Autumn and Winter that no one outside of the trio ever saw. They were their happiest selves when it was just them unencumbered by the expectations of the world.

The masks they wore at work and even in front of their friends were heavy. Anytime they were afforded the chance to strip them away and just be, was an enjoyable time for them. She was able to de-mask more now with her healing relationships with Reece and Mia, but she knew Winter seldom did outside of their home. She knew the others would sometimes tease about how much he loved to be at home, but this was his happy place. The place where he could be his "weird" self without the prying eyes of anyone else.

He didn't have to worry about being strong or masculine. He didn't have to worry about straightening his hair as he knew she loved its naturally curly state. She loved him no matter what package he came in. Even when he was insecure and spiraling, she was always going to be in his corner.

But, even she saw how he was spending more and more time at home.
