So I decided instead of incorporating a lot of unnecessary flashbacks in every chapter I'll just do random little updates that aren't technically updates about the "Lost Days" aka anything that happened during the 2 years Ruby and Punk were apart and they will hopefully usually or always have to do with the next update:) here's the first one,

"What's this?!" Amanda burst through the doors as Ruby counted her reps,

"Not sure...98..99.." She grunted,
"10-wtf!" She groaned as the weight set fell with a clink back on to the bench press stands. Amanda had thrown some sort of book on her chest.

"This!" She picked up and wave sit around, she turned raising an eyebrow as Ruby wiped her sweat off her forehead.
"What're you benching nowadays? 200?" She looked impressed, Ruby smirked,

"275 but who's counting?" She shrugged throwing the towel at her,
"Now what is that?"

"This!" Amanda handed her a magazine to her dramatically, Ruby felt her eyebrows go up as her eyes swept over the image of her and Austin looking quite cozy. She remembered the day quite clearly...

"This string is E and this one is B, then you have G, D, A, and E." Austin explained softly as he stood behind her on the park bench, a guitar cradled precariously in her lap. He took her hand in his and softly ran it against all the strings. He moved her right hand on the neck of the guitar,
"This is G chord." He moved her fingers to the right place ever so carefully before he strummed her left hand against the strings again.
"Beautiful." He noted, she could see him smiling proudly out of the corner of her eye.

"Thanks I try." She laughed slightly as the breeze picked up. Winter was starting so soon, she shivered slightly.

"It's surprisingly chilly for LA." Austin observed as he came around the bench and sat next to her.
"So uh...I want to ask you something if that's ok?"

"You just did." She joked, he pursed his lips,
"I'm sorry yeah, sure anything."

"Uh...do you want to write a song with me?"

"What?!" Ruby looked at him shocked.
"Is this because you don't want me to taint Second & Sebring and now you feel bad? You don't have to do that! I know I'm not a good singer-" he put a finger on her lips to hush her.

"No no, I still want you to sing Second & Sebring with me...but I also would love to write a song with you. We have a very similar upbringing and I think we could write something really good together...if you want."

"Aus I'm flattered but I'm no artist like you. I'm not at your level..." She stood, this was making her head spin.

"You put your life on the line for a living and you think you're not on my level?" He teased,  standing in front of her trying to calm her,

"Anyone with the right training can take a bump, not just anyone can write a song."

"Ruby anyone can write, anyone..." Austin smiled moving her hair from her face
"Look, working on a song... it's like falling in love. At first it's a rush, but then it gets painful and sometimes you gotta walk away. But sometimes you come out with something beautiful, like a song. You can do this. Just trust me, can you do that?"  She looked up at him, his brown eyes twinkled with warmth,
"I know you've been hurt so many times that trusting someone may be hard, but I swear to you on my mother than you can trust me."

"I'm a mess Austin...you don't want to get involved with me. My ex is psycho and wants to make my life hell, my family hates me, and I'm so scarred that I don't think I'll ever be that girl you met ever again."

"Then I'll get to know the real you. I'm not asking for anything, all I want is to be there for you like I wish someone had been for me during my darkest times. And if you want me to go at any point and time just tell me and I will go."

"Ok." She answered surprising herself. It amazed even her that she still had the ability to trust anyone.

"Thank you kitten." He whispered as she get his lips on her forehead.

That was the image that the magazine had captured. Austin kissing Ruby on the forehead underneath a tree in the winter.

"Rock Singer Austin Carlile and WWE Walk Out Star formerly known as Ruby Redfox, real name Ruby Rojo, looking Cozy in LA park. New couple forming?" Amanda read the caption

"Oh my god." Ruby gasped,
"We're just friends!" She added defensively

"So, no truth to this story, right?" Amanda raised an eyebrow

"No, I'd tell you." Ruby shook her head still amazed

"Too bad, 'cause you and Austin look so cute together.", Ruby looked up

"Do you think so?"

"Oh, my God." Amanda gasped,

"Shut up."

"Oh. My. God."

"Amanda, I cannot like this guy. I just got divorced and my ex is crazy and Austin is in a band for Christ sakes!"

"The man is like a more tattooed Adam Levine sundae smothered in Chris Pratt sauce."

"Yeah, I know. But it's more than that, Amanda. I mean, he teaches me stuff. I make great music with him. And at the park... at the park, there was this moment... I don't know; maybe I just imagined it."

"Yeah, but what if you didn't?"

If it's not clear it takes place a few months after Punk walked out on Ruby which was in October cuz it was his birthday so I'd say this is about December? Perhaps the next one will be their first Christmas without each other? Probably Punks or Ruby's if you comment you can decide if not I will
