A/N So, I was wondering to myself...

Hey, Ales, how would we make a story about a princess and her guard with Garmau, since it's already like that in the original storyline?

And then it hit me.

WITH THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENTAL SYSTEM!!!!

It's a good thing I'm learning this at school, now its not in vain!

Aphmau sat down in her comfortable armchair at the Oval Office, ready for the daily news. She wore a black dress that reached her knees, and some purple leggings underneath. Along with that, she wore black leather boots that reached her ankles, and a purple headband. Her adopted children, Levin and Malachi, we're playing outside with the nanny, Zoey.

Her second-in-command, Garroth, was waiting outside for Aphmau's command to come in. Aphmau liked to refer to him as her guard, because while his official title may have been Second-In-Command, but his slang title was bodyguard. And, it didn't help that Garroth and guard sounded very alike. A/N Seriously, did anyone else notice that?!

"Garroth, you can come in now!" Aphmau's angelic voice rang through his ears. Garroth opened the door, and with papers in hand, he commenced the daily news.

"Good morning, Lady Aphmau. How did you sleep?" Garroth's deep, british accented voice filled Aphmau's ears. She smiled.

"I slept fine, although I can't say the same for the little ones..." She trailed off, smiling at the memory of trying to put her restless children to sleep. Garroth chuckled.

"Yes, well I can only imagine." Garroth replied sarcastically, referring to how Aphmau had called him to help her put the children to sleep.

"Yeah, I'm sorry again about that 12 am incident." Aphmau apologized, biting her lip.

"It's perfectly fine, Lady Aphmau." He said, getting lost in her amber eyes. Aphmau smiled, waiting for him to go on with the daily news. Garroth cleared his throat and started to place down the folder.

"Uh...we have news from the country of O'kasis. The High Priest, Zane Ro'Meave, is demanding some sort of alliance. It's either that, or war." Garroth said, laying out the letters the country had received from O'kasis.

"I don't know, Garroth... That country has always seemed sketchy to me." Aphmau sighed. Garroth nodded in understatement-it was the reason he left that country in the first place when he was 17.

"I understand, Lady Aphmau. But, we need to think of the country at the moment. If we don't give them the alliance they want, we may be waging war upon Phoenix Drop." Garroth warned. Aphmau blew a strand of hair out of her face.

"That's the problem, isn't it?" She asked. He nodded, gnawing on the inside of his cheek.

"Well than, we'll have to give them what they want." Aphmau sighed, grabbing the letter from her desk and skimmed through it quickly.

"Dear President of.... We would like to inform you... If you don't approve of this offer... War will have to be accepted..." She groaned when she finished reading, and Garroth smirked in amusement.

"I presume you're regretting running for president?" Asked Garroth. Aphmau feigned offense.

"What!? No, I'm just... Dealing with issues." Aphmau settled on. Garroth nodded, chuckling.

"Well then, I'll be off. I'll send Laurence to check on your final decision." Garroth said, turning as he left the room.

"Wait... Isn't your last name Ro'Meave?" Asked Aphmau, examining the High Priest's last name. Garroth gulped, a bead of sweat trailing his forehead.

If she finds out, she might remove me from office...!

"U-Uh, it must be a coincidence, Lady Aphmau." Garroth said.

Aphmau knew something was bothering her guard, but she didn't pry.

"Alright, then. If you insist, Garroth. By the way, you know you can call me Aphmau, right?" Asked Aphmau. She had been in office for two years now, and her guard still called her by her title name.

Garroth sighed a breath of relief.

"Of course. I just... I guess I don't have an excuse. Good day, Aphmau." He said, leaving the Oval Office.
