A/N Sorry I haven't updated in a while! I've been SUPER BUSY, with the collab and the upcoming project on my other profile... Plus there's the fact that I was with my dad for a short while and I have a science project due with a partner who won't do anything.
Also I've just plain run out of Oneshot ideas! Please leave some in the comments below!
So to make up for it, here's a nice chapter just for you!
Let's get started!
3rd POV
Aphmau paced her dressing room, the long, white bridal dress trailing behind her. She held her bouquet in both hands, clutching them tightly. Her grip on the flowers was strong enough so you could see her knuckles turn white, and the flowers were bunched up and wilting slowly.
"I can do this... Just be calm... Be calm... I can do this..." Her words jumbled into each other as she muttered under her breath. This day was the most important day of her life.
So why couldn't she do it?
Simply because she didn't love the man who would be in a suit of black at the other end of the aisle. Her love was not true.
She didn't love Laurence.
A knock on her door startled her.
"My Lady, do I have permission to enter?"
Aphmau sighed gratefully at the sound of the familiar deep british accent.
"Permission has been granted." She shouted quietly.
A man with chainmail armor entered the room. His helmet was off, revealing his sandy blonde hair and his icy blue eyes. Aphmau recognized the eyes quickly. They were the eyes of her head guard, Garroth.
"Hello M'Lady." Garroth said, walking to Aphmau. She gave him a weak smile.
"Hi Garroth..." She said, trailing off. Garroth raised an eyebrow. The princess was often joyous and filled with happiness.
Why was she so forlorn?
"Are you alright, M'Lady?" Asked Garroth. Aphmau nodded, her smile fading.
"I-I'll be fine, Garroth." She assured.
Garroth wasn't in the best mood either. The one he loved was getting married to another.
"Lady Aphmau, if you don't mind me saying, why do you look like you'd rather be anywhere but here?" Asked Garroth.
Aphmau collapsed into Garroth's arms, breaking into sobs. Garroth was confused. He had just asked a simple question.
So why did Aphmau act like it was the end of the world?
"Garroth, I would rather be anywhere else other then here. I don't love Laurence. I don't want to marry him. But I have no choice." Aphmau explained, her tears still streaming down her face..
Those four words were music to Garroth's ears. He almost smiled when he remembered that Aphmau was still crying in his arms. He stroked her hair softly.
"It's alright. But, why don't you love Laurence?" He asked.
Aphmau blushed, her tears drying away.
"My heart belongs to another." She whispered, wiping her eyes and nose with her hand. Garroth felt his heart drop down once again.
"Oh. Well who is the lucky man?" Asked Garroth. Aphmau smiled, pulling away.
"Garroth, I have something important to tell you." She said, her small smile still on her face.
The next three words brought Garroth complete shock.
I love you.
"W-WHAT?!" He asked surprised. Aphmau looked down.
"D-Did you not want me to?" She asked.
Garroth's face went from shock, to confusion, to joy.
"No, that's not it at all! I just didn't think you'd have the same feelings for me..." Garroth said. Aphmau's eyes widened, her breathing slowing down.
"What?" She whispered. Garroth leaned into her, his hand floating up to her cheek. Aphmau smiled, lifting her hand to his. Garroth pulled her close to him and connected her lips with his.
Aphmau kissed back, her arms flying around his neck. Garroth wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her softly. Aphmau's hands ran through his sandy blonde hair. The two pulled apart, gasping for breath.
"I love you M'Lady." Garroth said, his forehead against hers. Aphmau smiled, getting on her toes to peck his lips.
"I love you too Garroth. Now, we have a problem. It's my wedding day." She said. Garroth smirked, and idea forming into his brain,
"It is... But it doesn't have to be for you and Laurence." Garroth pointed out. Aphmau raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" She asked. Garroth looked around the room, searching for something to help his current situation. Soon, he found a pen, and kneeled down on one knee.
"M'Lady. Will you do me the honor of making me the happiest person on earth, and marry me?" Asked Garroth. Aphmau smiled, tears brimming her eyes.
She nodded, and Garroth uncapped the pen, drawing a ring on her finger. Then, he drew one on his finger next. Aphmau kissed Garroth once again.
"Alrighty, now let's ditch this wedding." Aphmau said, grabbing his hand and walking out the door.
