"Could you maybe...breathe quieter?" Jessica hissed, watching the action on the street below. "You do realize who's roof we're sitting on, right?"

"Could you maybe be less of a bitch? And yeah, of course I do."

With a snicker she looked over at you and gave you a firm nudge with her shoulder, "you should know better than to ask, (Y/N). It's the one thing we have in common."

"And here I thought it was how stupid we are for spending our nights hanging out on rooftops and looking for ways to get our asses kicked."

"That too," she whispered, grabbing your arm suddenly and pointing to something that caught her eye about a block away. "Hey, there. I see our guy." You squinted to see him, taking her camera from her bag to use the lens and snapping a few shots the man you were looking for while you were at it.

"Hold up, Jess. I think we should sit out of this one, look." You handed her the camera and shook your head when she gasped, seeing what you were seeing. "Agree?"

"What I would like to know," she groaned, throwing her camera back into the bag, "is why this Daredevil guy gets to have all the fun. No, we're not sitting this one out, (Y/N). Onward." Jessica stood and gave you a sarcastic smirk as she jumped from the ledge, down a few balconies and onto the sidewalk below, looking up to you to follow. Your foot left the edge just as you were grabbed from behind and pulled onto the hard concrete surface.

"Shit! (Y/N)!"

You pulled yourself up but your head began to spin and a shooting pain felt like it was crushing your skull; a quick touch with your hand was enough to coat it in your own blood. "Are you serious?" you groaned, looking at your attacker with swimming vision. "What the hell are you doing?"

"I should ask you the same," his deep voice growled. "Who are you, and what are you doing up here? I can't imagine it's good if your carrying so much gear and that weapon on your hip."

"At least I'm not dressed up in some red leather costume with kitty ears."

You weren't sure if it was your head injury or not, but you thought you heard a laugh from him. "They're horns."

"Because that's so much better," you snickered, your balance beginning to waver slightly. With a very slight movement of your hand, you were able to grab your knife from your boot and thrust it at him, catching his shoulder. When he stumbled back just slightly, you thought you had a moment to escape, feeling in no shape to fight, but he charged forward and grabbed your arm.

"I'm only going to ask you one more time. Who are you?"

"Apparently the woman who's gonna kick your ass. Aren't you going to defend yourself? Do you enjoy getting beaten up by a girl?"

You could hear Jessica's feet bounding up the stairs to get to you, but rather than waiting for backup you yanked away from his grip and kicked out his leg. As he fell he swung his arm out and tried to grab your ankle but missed when you tipped back and over the side of the building. Just before you landed on the balcony below, you heard your friend yelling for you as the two of them watched from above.

"(Y/N)!"

"Trish! Open the door!" Jessica yelled, banging her fist against the door as hard as she could. "It's me, open the door!"

With a swing of the door, Trish leaned against it with heavy eyelids and messy blonde hair atop her head. "Do you have any idea what time it is?"

"Do you have any idea that (Y/N) just landed on your balcony?!" Jessica snapped, pushing past her to run across the apartment and to you.
