Chapter 28 - Scarlet Heart

Mooyeon's POV

After the banquet me, Taehyung and the others just gathered together in the garden to hang out.

I let them decide what to do since I didn't really know what people here usually do even if I've been here for half a year.

It ended up me watching the boys having a duel against each other. Well, I wanted to distract them from their work for once but it seemed as if fighting really was the activity they enjoyed the most.

It was Taehyung's and Jimin's turn and I could neither tell if they were playing or fighting seriously.

Looked more like dancing with swords to me.

Even though the scene was beautiful under the moonlight and the petals flying through the wind, I couldn't seem to keep my attention to what was happening in front of me.

I decided to take the chance and talk to Hoseok.

"Hey..." I called him but he didn't hear me?

I called for his name again and finally he noticed me. "Oh... hey Mooyeon. Enjoying the fight? Taehyung looks handsome when fighting, right?"

I nodded in response. I didn't want him to notice that I haven't payed attention to it.

"Hoseok, you..." I hesitated. I really didn't know how to ask. It seemed impolite.

"Your reaction when JeonHa announced to pair you up with Princess Hyeonju... You didn't seem to be exited?" I carefully asked.

He was in thoughts. His eyes were wandering around and I had to wait for some moments until he answers me.

"Are you kidding, Mooyeon? I'm happy! I'm overjoyed! It's the Princess, do you understand? JeonHa only has this one and only sister and he entrusts her to me. That's such a great honor. I excuse myself for now I still have to proceed this great news." he said loudly and left.

Liar. He's lying. There's no way he wants to marry the Princess. You must be blind if you don't see that he was fleeing from this situation. But why didn't he tell JeonHa?

'What we do and what happens to us depends on the will of JeonHa.'

I suddenly remember what Jimin told me before.

I should have already understood it but I think I will never accept it.

If I just think about that situation before...

"I can't settle your marriage before my sister finds her future husband. So I decided to pair her up with Hoseok-DaeJang."

Hoseok's smile slowly faded from his face. He wasn't that happy that he didn't know how to react.

"JeonHa!" Hoseok slowly stood up and carefully shouted. "I'm still a JangGun. I don't think that I'll be able to take care of her as I wish to..." his voice became weaker and weaker.

"So in your opinion, my sister doesn't fit you? You think there is someone better than her?" JeonHa asked.

Ridiculous. How do you expect him to answer?

"I, Jung Hoseok, thank JeonHa for this honor!" he shouted.

He's conflicted.

Everyone began to gratulate Hoseok.
