Chapter 34 - Merry Christmas

Mooyeon's POV

It was really fun to witness Hoseok and Princess Hyeonju's wedding. Many guests were invited and after the rituals were over we got to talk, eat and drink during the party.

King Hyeongjong also introduced us to Earl Vincent Magot and explained that he is an important businessman from England and that everyone should treat him just as well as they treated me.

I was talking to Taehyung and the rest of the DaeJangs. Most of the time we were joking with Hoseok but I would also ask them how Goryeo get its connection with England. It really was surprising to me.

After a while the Earl approached us but he didn't really looked at the JangGuns even if they must be more interesting to him than I was.

"Oh hey Earl Vincent Magot. Sorry about earlier. I was impolite." I apologized to him.

I really was impolite. I mean I didn't even introduced myself properly.

He didn't respond but took my arm and planted a kiss on the back of my hand.

"I'm sorry, young lady but I think I fell in love with you." He surprisingly said to me.

Did I understand him right? He's just joking with me I bet. Fell in love with me?  No way! Why would he?

"I don't think that I understand this kind of humor." I forced a smile, trying my best to not say anything wrong.

His expression stayed serious for a while before he gave me a smile which changed the atmosphere for about 180 degrees.

"Mooyeon, what are you both saying?" Taehyung asked me in a worried tone. Of course he didn't understand anything and I'm really glad for it.

"Woah, Mooyeon! I didn't know that you know English!" Jungkook gave me a thumbs up. "Is there anything you don't know?"

"Actually, Jungkook, the smartphone you played with is full of English language. And the text in my books you couldn't decipher also had some English in it."

"OK we got it but what were you saying seconds ago? And why is he still holding your hand?" Taehyung insisted to know.

I immediately pulled my hand back from the hold of the Earl and searched for some explanations. But I was even desparate to know myself.

Shoot how should I tell him? I just couldn't say that an Earl from England just confessed to me! Taehyung would freak out!

"It was just a joke among English people. Nothing to worry about." Vincent explained.

Do they make such jokes in England this century? This guy is weird.

"Earl Magot, I'm quite impressed about your Goryeo language. How did you learn it? Is it completely different from English or do you see any similarities?" Seokjin asked.

"You all may call me Vincent and to answer your question, I travel a lot and because of that I had the chance to learn a lot of languages." Vincent explained, still in a modest way.  "Since I'm a business man it's important to be able to communicate with as many people as possible. During my travels I got to learn over 10 different languages."

So he's some kind of a genius?

"That's really impressive." Namjoon commended.  "If there's any chance I would be glad to learn some English."
