Chapter 51 - Hyangin

Mooyeon's POV

I woke up by the neigh of a horse, thinking that it must have been Mari, I found myself laying in a gama.

I opened the curtain and saw Taehyung resting outside leaning on a tree.

I stepped outside and caressed Mari before I went to Taehyung.

"You're awake." he smiled after noticing me.

"How long has it been? Where are we now?" I asked yawning.

"We still have 3 days until we'll arrive. Sorry I couldn't wait longer so I just took you with me while you've been sleeping." He explained to me. "Hyangin is searching for some water for you now."

"Hyangin also came?" I asked surprised.

"Yes, she wanted to."

Taehyung's POV

I hope Mooyeon didn't blame me for deciding that on my own.

◇Flashback◇

I was preparing everything for our journey with Mooyeon's maid. The gama, the money, the horse and some food.

As we were almost finished I carried Mooyeon and placed her in the gama, while she was still sleeping deeply.

Suddenly, the maid stepped in front of me and looked into my eyes.

"Taehyung-DaeJang, please let me come with you." she suddenly said, letting a tear fall.

"Your name is Hyangin, right? This is serious here, we're not joking with this journey. We'll not go back anymore!" I argued, hoping that she would understand.

"I know. I know exactly what it means. I just want to keep serving for Lady Mooyeon, that's all. She's like my older sister and I'm willing to follow her wherever she goes." she kneeled down and bowed her head to the ground. "Please, Taehyung-DaeJang!"

"I did thought about it if I should take you with us since JeonHa would maybe blame you for not looking after her properly. But if you go with us today your whole family would get involved, do you understand?" I asked her sincerely.

"I know." she sobbed. "Hyangin was sold to some slave dealers anyways. I don't have a family. Before I became a maid here, my question everyday was how to survive. I would beg for some food others left over. Sometimes I even had to grab food from a dog's mouth. I came from such a past but Lady Mooyeon didn't just not mind my identity, she even accepted me as a sister. Because of that I would like to support her until my death!"

I looked at the crying girl and at Mooyeon, realizing that Hyangin was just like me. I was also someone who came from a dog hole and didn't have any worth in life.

It was Queen Heonjung who gave me any meaning of life and in her case, it was Mooyeon.

I suddenly remembered Queen Heonjung's last wish before she died.

She wanted me to support JeonHa to get the throne and what was I doing? I was going to leave him. Could I count that as betrayal?

I shrugged this thought off immediately.

Even if it's betrayal, I would rather betray him than let Mooyeon stay here forever.

Besides I already accompanied JeonHa to the point where he regained his throne. So I already have granted Queen Heonjung's wish.

"If you really insist to, I would really like to bring you with us." I answered Hyangin, getting a big smile from her.
