Chapter 95 - Last Intrigue

Hyeonjong's POV

I panted hard after thinking through everything, after knowing everything, after understanding everything.

"Vincent Magot, that bastard..." I murmured to myself.

"JeonHa, could we do something for you?" my servants nervously asked me after seeing my state.

"How many times did Seokjin-DaeJang visit me the last few days?" I asked them.

"Today's visit included would be 7 times, JeonHa." they answered.

I needed 7 days to recover from this absurd stuff.

"Where is Hyangin? Find her and I want you to chop her head off!" I shouted.

How dares this girl telling me that the jewel was real? She should pay for that.

"JeonHa, Lee Hyangin is already dead." my eunuch answered.

"What? Why is that?"

"We aren't sure, but our spies were sure that they saw Vincent's servants burying her body." he explained and I chuckled.

"Serves her right. Any other news?" I asked again.

"Yes, Joo Mooyeon escaped from Earl Magot's mansion. The whole building is now a pure mess. The Earl is now busy in taking care of that."

"How did that happen?" I asked in curiousness.

"It was said that she and 2 servants went missing while the kitchen caught fire. Most of the servants were drugged and they took this as an opportunity to flee. Now, Earl Magot is trying to let that fixed while he is also preparing to leave the country. He lets his servant Kim Heechul search for the Lady."

"Is that so?" I nodded my head, absorbing each detail he told me.

So, someone rescued her successfully from Vincent Magot's house. It was either the JangGuns or...

Why should I still care about him? I have better things to mind. He has been a loyal servant to me but he was on my way.

"I need to see Heechul. Find out where he is right now and bring him to me. He should better come voluntarily or else you may just kill him." I ordered and the eunuch immediately went off to pass on this order.

I still need the jewel. Without that in my hands, I will never let go.

"JeonHa, we brought Kim Heechul." the eunuch announced from outside.

"Let him in." I instructed and the door opened, revealing Heechul with his ordinary smirk.

"You look healthy, JeonHa. I'm pleased." he smiled and went straight towards my throne and sat down.

"Scandalous! This throne is nothing something in your class could touch!" the eunuch yelled and I signaled him to stop.

"It's alright. Let us alone now. I want to have a talk with him." I ordered and all servants and maids left the hall, leaving only me and Heechul.

"Seems like you also needed to see me. Otherwise you wouldn't be here that soon after I ordered my men to find you." I sat down and poured myself a tea.

"Smart as always. How comes that such a smart King like you... fell for our simple trick that easily?" he smirked towards me as if he was making fun of me.

I angrily took the teacup and smashed it to his direction only to let it be caught by him. "Don't forget that I could let you be executed right at this moment!" I pointed a finger at him.
