Slowly I walked home in the rain, it was dark and horrible. Not that I cared, like this I can fade into the background. I keep to myself and that's how I like it. I could hear someone behind me so I picked up my pace slightly, not liking the idea of being followed.
I kept looking over my shoulder but no one was there. I heard a dark laughter behind me, again turning around to see nothing. "Oh how I love to watch you mortals squirm." He chuckled deeply stepping out into the light under which I had stopped. I reached for my bag and pulled out the first thing that came to hand, it just so happened to be the most useful. "You, you have the millennium item I desire." He spoke shocked. I looked at the rod in my hand.
"So that means you know what this can do. So I'd keep back if I were you. I can either take your soul or stab you. So I wouldn't come any closer."
"My soul thrives in the shadow realm so by all means be my guest. I will only return. So for your sake. Hand over the rod." He demanded inching closer to me. I spun the rod in my hand so the the sharpened point of the shaft faced him.
"And I said don't come any closer." He continued forward placing a hand around the rod. "Hey! Get off freak!"
"Says the girl with no friends who possesses weak minds just as a test of power." He smirked, a dark, evil smirk. "You like power don't you? You feel completely in control."
"And if I do? How about I take a look in your soul?"
"The millennium Rod doesn't allow you to do that!" He laughed.
"Ha! You think I have only one item?! You my friend, need to pay more attention to that ring of yours." I smiled smugly. He looked down at three of the needles of the ring pointed at me.
"You have three?" He looked at me, surprised. "How could someone like you obtain three millennium items? Let alone control them?!"
"No body expects the sweet girl. Then they won't see it coming until they're dead." By now the rain had completely soaked us to the bone. But I didn't care this mysterious man intrigued me, and if I could acquire another item that would be a plus. "So. Are you ready to bid farewell to that ring of yours?"
"No. I need this boy's body. And I will be the one walking away with the items." I pulled the key and scales from my bag.
"Ohh. You want these?"
"So you're offering. Yes. Hand them over mortal!"
"Again with the mortal! You think I am purely human?!" I closed my eyes summoning a creature from my soul. The Magician of Black Chaos. "I have a long family lineage stretching back to a particular time in ancient Egypt. It has been passed down how to summon one's Ka. An ability you have lost spirit." I stated smugly, knowing full well he couldn't.
"How about I bypass this little fight, send you to the shadow realm and take your items for myself." He smirked as the world around us grew darker, the rain had stopped and the streets around us were still quiet.
"Try. But you see, I could do the same to you." I held up the rod again. "Now I believe they call this a Mexican standoff. Who will move first?" I paused momentarily, then began laughing.
"What's so funny my dear?" He asked annoyance in his tone.
"I have a much better idea. I could just make you hand over the ring." I smiled deviously as I began to take root in his mind. By using the power of my key at the same time I could see every inch of his dark and twisted mind. He was there. Kul Elna. He was the child who watched as countless were slaughtered to form these millennium items. My ancestors fled the city before the murderous order was given.
I released my grasp on his mind. "How about we work together. We can take down the pharaoh. So he can atone for what his family did that day."
"I like how you think. Ok. I'll keep you."
"Now this, is going to be fun."
