Ok. I didn't know where else to put this so heh. It's going here. Deal with it. Enjoy a Tadashi fic because I'm Big Hero 6 trash AF.

It's been a week since the fire, every day I pace the waiting room in the hospital waiting to see him. He's been kept under anaesthetic, to prevent him from being in too much pain. He has third degree burns on nearly 50% of his body, including the right hands side of his chest, right arm and both legs. It seems he was able to turn his upper body away from the flames slightly so they didn't engulf him completely.
He's covered head to toe in bandages, however, I can see that some of his hair has been burnt off, meaning he has also burnt his face.
Today is a nerve wracking day however, today is when Tadashi is being woken up. I'm sat in the room with Hiro and their aunt Cass. I'm so nervous, what if something happens? What if he doesn't wake up? "Hey. Y/N." I turned to see Hiro stood behind me. "Don't worry. Tadashi is a fighter. He'll be alright." He smiled slightly. I nodded sighing.
"I know. I'm just scared for him." I watched as the doctor injected Tadashi with the antidote to the anaesthetic. He opened the eye that wasn't covered in bandage and looked at his brother and aunt. They rushed to his bedside, I elected to hang back. They are his family after all. His eye then rested on me. Hiro backed off.
"Come on aunt Cass. We should give them a minute." He pulled his aunt out leaving only Tadashi and I. I sat in the chair beside his bed. He turned his head away from me.
"Tadashi. Please. Don't turn away from me. These things. They happen, what are you so afraid of?" I knew he couldn't talk yet. He has to keep his face as still as possible to make it heal properly. He looked at me I could see the fear in his eye but I wasn't quite sure at to why.

-1 month later-
I kept ahold of Tadashi's hand, today was the day the bandages came off. Neither he nor I have seen what's beneath them. "You're going to be okay Tadashi." He turned to me.
"You don't have to be here. I'm afraid you won't like what you see."
"You're always the most handsome man in my life Dashi. No matter what." Tadashi nodded at the doctor who started untying the bandages at his feet. The skin below was red, raw and looked incredibly painful. I could tell it'd healed slightly but the pain was evident in his face as the cool air hit his skin. I held his hand as the doctor continued up his torso. The right hand side was the burnt side. You could even see where the flames had caught his skin. The doctor finally reached Tadashi's face. He untied the bandage and carefully removed the gause pad. I couldn't help but stand with my hand over my mouth, tears forming in my eyes. He turned away from me once again.
"Please. Don't look at me. I can't stand to see you cry." He too began to cry. The salty tears stung his raw face causing him to cry more.
"Dashi. Please." I took his hand, he returned his gaze to me. I could now see him fully, the worst was around his eye, it was so red, swollen slightly. "Can you even see out of that eye?" I asked. He lowered his head, shaking it. "It's ok." I ran my fingers through the hair on the left side of his head. "You'll be okay, we'll work through this." He just sighed and lowered his head.

-1 year later-
Tadashi's burns have all healed, the problem is he's left with some pretty awful scars. All up the one side of his body. He's been diagnosed as fully blind in that right eye. When the swelling decreased we could see his eye was now snow white and the skin around it silver.
Today we were out all day, just out and about around San Fransokyo. I walked through the streets proudly holding his hand, people would stare, point, make snide comments. So what he looked different?
He was stood looking over the harbour as I was buying coffee from a nearby stall when a guy approached me. "Hey. I saw you with that guy." He gestured to Tadashi. "You one of those charity people? Takes a freak out for a good day cause no one else will. Perhaps I could take you out for a good time beautiful." He laughed, leaning on the counter of the coffee stall. Even the young girl serving me was appalled.
"Excuse me?!" I retorted. "That man is my boyfriend. You wanna know why he looks like that?!" Before he could even think to answer I began my rant again. "He ran into a burning building to save someone we believed was inside, he was in there when something exploded and he's been in hospital pretty much ever since. This is one of his first proper days out so I'd appreciate you leaving him alone." He stood smirking at me. A sick, smug smirk. "So that FREAK, is more of a man than you could ever hope to be." I looked back over to Tadashi who was surrounded by a group of guys. I ran over to him. "Dashi!" I wrapped my arms around him.
"Aawww. What's this? This the freaks little sister?" One of the guys taunted. I just stood up and punched him square in the face.
"One more word against my boyfriend and you'll end up like him!" I pointed to the guy clutching his bleeding nose. "Now get out of here!" They ran away and I turned back to Tadashi. His beautiful dark chocolate eye, filling with tears.
I pulled him into a hug. "Dashi. Ignore them. You're beautiful, I love you." I could feel his shoulders shaking, he was crying.
"Leave me. You could do much better. Someone who you wouldn't have to look at with pity every day, someone you wouldn't be ashamed to be seen with in public." He pushed me away. I ran after him but he took off. I know where he's going, and I know a short cut.
As predicted he was running in the direction of the SFIT campus, although 20 now he is resitting what would've been his last year due to being hospitalised. I arrived before him, sitting in his chair in his lab. I fiddled with the stuff on his desk; some nuts and bolts, the odd washer or two. I picked up a particularly large washer, placing it over my thumb to measure the size roughly, it fit with a little room to spare. "This could come in handy." I muttered to my self, pocketing the mechanics item, as an out of breath Tadashi walked through the door. He saw me and went to walk out but I grabbed his wrist. "Dashi. Hear me out." He turned back to me. I took a deep breath. "This is not how and when I planned to do this but if it gets the point into your head then I don't care. Tadashi Hamada, I love you more than words can say, so you don't look like everyone else, so you can't catch like you used to. Yano. No depth perception." I laughed slightly, bringing a smile to his face, "Dashi. I wouldn't have you any other way. To prove it, and feel free to disagree if you think I'm being too forward." I slowly got down on one knee, pulling out the oversized washer. "Tadashi Hamada. Please for gods sake just marry me." He just stood there. Mouth agape. Saying nothing. Not moving, I don't even think he's breathing. "This is the part where you answer me." He shook himself out of his daze.
"Y-Yeh. Yeh." His smile only grew. "Although. Technically It was more of a demand than a question." He retorted sarcastically. That's my Dashi. I stood up, placing the washer on his finger. Just out of ceremony really, I had a ring at home. Untraditional for the girl to propose but hey. When have I ever done anything by the book. He looked me in the eye, smiling the most genuine smile I've seen in ages. It was truly beautiful.
"Tadashi. I don't care what you look like, you could have three heads and be pink for all I care, i fell in love with Tadashi Hamada, the dorky guy I met in middle school. Not the super hot nerd all the other girls fawned over because who knew smart people were also super attractive, and hey. You're still hot to me Dashi." I placed a hand on his hard chest leaning closer to him. I gently placed my lips on his in a brief chaste kiss. "I love you Tadashi."
"And I love you Y/N."

Aaaaaand there it is. Tadashi Hamada. The hottest nerd going. There will be a part two. Just because I wanna and I have a huge thing for Tadashi.
