"I wouldn't go in there if I were you." My friend warned me as I neared the edge of the forest.
"Denki. Don't worry about it. It's my fastest way home. I've walked this forest most of my life." I grinned, holding onto the handle of my sword "Besides. It's not like I'm totally defenceless." I stepped forwards and ruffled my fingers through his hair. "I'll see you again soon my friend." I pulled up my hood and walked into the forest.
I have heard the rumours of this place and I know of the mansion they refer to. It is a place shrouded in darkness, deep in the woods, where hardly any sunlight reaches. Some say it's haunted, others say it's the home to a creature of the night. I tend to avoid it, despite passing it is the fastest way home.
Today, I was drawn to it by a scent, one I was taught to fear, but curiosity got the better of me. That's when I saw it. Fire. The whole mansion engulfed in flames. A crowd of men surrounding a being on the ground. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!"
"Stay out of this girl! This is nothing to do with you!" One shouted back, kicking whoever was on the ground. I kept approaching the group. "Stay back. This beast is dangerous." He warned.
Whatever they were kicking moved with inhuman speed. An arm wrapped around my waist, the other grabbed one wrist holding me in place. The being placed his teeth to my neck. "G-get back. O-or, or I-I'll do it." He stammered. "L-leave, or th-This innocent life w-will be lost. B-b-because of you." It sounded like he hardly believed his own words. The men backed off.
"I'm so sorry miss. May the gods have mercy on you." They ran, fearful for their lives. As soon as they were out of sight the person behind me collapsed. I turned to see my temporary kidnapper. A vampire. I pulled him deeper into the woods and into darkness. I tended to his wounds and waited for him to wake up.
I watched as he stirred and regained consciousness. "Y-you're still here?" He questioned.
"Yeh. Why not?" I smiled.
"Because of what I am."
"So what? If you wanted me dead you would've killed me by now." I shrugged. "Besides. I'm a good judge of character, with, as some may say dogged determination. I want to see the best in people."
"H-how did you heal my wounds?" He stammered, refusing to look me in the eye.
"I used magic. Ancient magic." He looked up, confused. "I've been gifted in magic since I was a child."
"Y-you're like a... a mage?" He questioned, somewhat cowering in fear.
"Yeh. Like that." I shrugged. "You seem afraid of me."
"Many like you have seeked to end my life." He looked away. "And among other things, you... you smell so- so good." The tips of his ears dusted pink at his own admission.
"When was it you last fed?" I questioned. He turned away from me refusing to answer. "Come on. Tell me."
"Months." He mumbled. "That's why they burned down my home. I took nothing that was needed. One old and dying sheep. I-it would keep me alive for a while until I could a-ask someone for the favour of a few drops of human blood."
"Then take some of mine." I offered.
"No. I can smell your blood from here. It's too much. I fear i may not be able to stop once I've started." He backed away.
"Fine." I pulled a large phial of blood from my bag, pouring a small amount into another phial, offering the large open phial to the vampire before me. "Take this Then. It was meant for medicinal use anyway. Dragon's blood is hard to come by but you need something." He took the phial.
"Allow me the courtesy of turning your back. I do not wish for you to see this." I obliged and turned my back.
"I can offer you a place for a while. Until you can perhaps repair your mansion." I proposed.
"I couldn't. To live with a human. It's never been done."
"No time like the present." I grinned, walking towards my home. "See. It's nothing much. Just a place to lay my head." I opened the door. "Come on in."
2 months later
"Tamaki. I'm home!" I shouted, placing my bag by the door. "Tamaki?" I rounded the corner to my living room and saw my old friend, pinning Tamaki to the wall by his throat.
"End whatever curse you've put on her!" He demanded, raising his staff in his free hand. "Look at her! You've got your fangs deep in her. Is this your way of tricking yourself that they give you their blood willingly?!"
"Denki. Let him go! Now." I drew my sword. "Please. You don't understand. I told you that you and I wouldn't work. Tamaki and I..."
"That's low!" He turned his attention back to the vampire. "A love spell! That's sick!"
"Denki. Listen to me. There is no magic at work here." I begged.
"I'm sorry, but I don't believe you." He raised his staff, electricity buzzing from the golden gem in the end. I couldn't move fast enough like this. I abandoned my human form, reverting back to my natural state. I tackled the young mage, pinning him to the ground.
"I told you to leave him alone." I spoke through snarling teeth.
"A kyubi no kitsune?" Denki questioned, "no wonder you said we wouldn't work. You could be thousands of years old and will outlive me." He sighed looking away.
"If my true form scares you I apologise."
"No. I know it's still you." Denki answered.
"I wasn't talking to you. I told you I'd come back to visit. So please. Leave Tamaki and me be for now." He nodded and left. I sat in front Tamaki, my head low.
"Y-you're a beautiful creature." He mumbled, his hand brushing through my fur. "This Is why you smell so tempting." I reverted to a more human like form, keeping my nine tails and fox ears.
"Then you must know that you can bite me without fear of me becoming like you."
"Yes." I could see the hunger in his eyes. I pulled him closer by his shirt, gently placing kisses up the side of his neck.
"Come on Tamaki. You can take your time. Make it as enjoyable as possible." His breath caught in his throat. I pulled back slightly, turning my head away from him my entire neck exposed to him. He pulled me close, his breath fanning against my skin. "Don't hesitate. Do it." I felt his fangs graze my skin but stop. Deciding instead to pepper the area with light kisses. "Go on Tamaki. I know how long it's been." The moment he broke the skin of my neck he gasped and held on to me tighter, sinking his teeth in deeper. "See. It's okay." I gently ran my fingers through his indigo hair. "Kitsune are fierce guardians and protectors. I will stay with you forever Tamaki."
"Mmm. So sweet." He mumbled against my skin, placing small kisses over his bite. "They say Ayakashi blood is a delicacy among my kind."
"And you can have all you please." I smiled, placing a kiss on his lips. "Forever."
"Forever."-Jadieelynchx
