Kageyama x Reader

"Hah. You still think you can run with the best of us?" I laughed still panting as my best friend lay star fished on the ground panting even harder.
"Hey. Just cos one of us didn't make the track team." She smiled hooking her foot around my ankle causing me to fall.
"Ow. Plus. I'm sure you'll make it this year." I grinned sitting up next to her. "You've been training with the best." I looked over my shoulder to see the other girls finally approaching on their last lap. But with them were a bunch of young lads. "Well done. You managed to stay just one lap behind. Who are these though?"
"They're the Volleyball team, captain." One girl spoke up while trying to catch her breath. "They were scheduled to train with us today to build stamina etc."
"Yes. Now I remember. Thank you." I looked around at the boys towering above my track team. "Shall we start with a little cross country?"
-Time Skip.-
"Good session ladies. And lads." I smiled, rocking back and forth on my toes. "That's it. Same time two days from now. Big event next week. I expect to see you jogging daily until then. I want the nationals and we are gonna get them. You are the best team I've had the pleasure to be part of and I'm honoured to be running beside you all." I spoke and they all dispersed. All besides one boy from the volleyball team. I didn't notice as I was already talking to B/F/N.
"Hey." She smiled, "I think someone wants to talk to you." She nodded in his direction. I turned to see him, a tall guy, black hair and eyes that were a mix of smokey grey and blue. "Cute ain't he." She smirked. "Number 9. Setter."
"How do you know so much about volleyball?" I asked.
"Does it matter? Just talk to him." She pushed me towards him. I stumbled but were caught by a pair of strong arms.
"Oh." I jumped back up, "I'm so sorry."
"Don't worry. I-I was wondering if y-you would run with me tomorrow.." He asked.
"Sure." I smiled back, "I run every morning at 5am before school."
"Ok." He said and began to walk away.
"Wait. I never caught your name!" I called running after him.
"Kageyama." He replied.
"Well Kageyama. I'm Y/N. Y/N Azumane." He looked taken aback.
"You're related to Asahi? He's never mentioned you and I've never seen you around the club."
"Yeh. He's my big brother. He doesn't want me around the lads. I know the other upperclassmen, like Suga and Daichi. But Asahi says that I'd be 'too much of a distraction.' I just think he's being an overprotective jerk. Anyway. I have the track team to take care of." I turned to walk away. "I'll see you tomorrow Kageyama.
2 month Time skip. cos I'm lazy.
"Kageyama! Are you coming or not?!" I shouted from the door of the gym. Everyone in there stopped and stared, Hinata got hit in the head with a ball, tossed to him by Suga. That'll teach him to stare.
Kageyama and I were going to have dinner together so I had already got changed. Nothing special. Jeans and a nice top. So why were they all staring.
"Hey you're that girl we went running with two months ago.." Tanaka spoke from the back of the gym.
"Ryu. We're in the same class..." I retorted flatly, causing the team to laugh. I was too busy chatting to the others to notice Kageyama stood beside me.
"We were just about done anyway. Let's go." He slipped a discreet arm around me and we walked towards the exit of the gym. However just before we crept out my brother caught our collars. We turned around as he stood towering over Kageyama. The first year was evidently shaking, though as intimidating as my brother may be he can't back it up.
"I thought I told you about seeing my team mates." He spoke looking at me briefly before returning his gaze to the smaller setter before him.
"Come on Asahi. We're just having dinner." He just shrugged and walked off. I walked off with Kageyama in the direction of a little cafe.
"Sorry about him. I knew he'd be protective. Big brother and all."
"I guess it's only natural he'd want to protect his little sister. I mean, you're the only one left at home with your parents travelling and all that." I'm glad he remembers stuff like that, he really does listen. I smiled to myself, thinking about how when I talk to him I normally get something like 'mhmm' in response. "What's so funny?"
"Just, you're very talkative today."
"Well, I spoke to Suga about what to do if I liked a girl. He told me I should talk more rather than just stand and listen. You know." I smiled, slightly shocked that he had just unknowingly admitted his feelings towards me, as I'm the only girl he talks to. "What?" He thought momentarily. "Oh no! I'm such an idiot. I'm sorry if you don't like me like that. Damn!" He flushed bright red and hid his face with his hood.
"Don't worry Kageyama." I stood up on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek. "You're not the only one. I like you too." He smiled slightly. It was rare to see him truly smile, and what a treat it was.
