Cos Connor is my Boi and I love him hahahaha.

1605 words.

"Good morning Lieutenant Anderson." I smiled saluting.
"Drop it cadet. You're not shadowing me kid. Connor." He motioned for someone to come over. Assuming the officer I am to shadow. "Deal with the cadet. She'll be your shadow." I looked over at the person who walked over.
"Uh. That's an android."
"Wow. You really are a junior detective aren't you." Lieutenant Anderson spoke sarcastically. "Yes. He's an android and he's going to keep you out of my way." I turned to the android. He looked okay. Typical Cyberlife clothes, dark brown hair, perfectly matching his chocolate eyes. He had a kind face. I don't know how to describe it, just kind. He offered me his hand.
"I am Connor. RK800 model Android. Cereal number 313 248 317. I am apparently the person you must shadow."
"Y/N" I replied shaking his hand. I could see him scan me, looking for some kind of indication of what kind of person I am.
"You own a cat." He stated.
"Uh. Yeh. How did you know that?" I questioned sitting down at an empty desk.
"Residue cat hairs on your uniform. Maine Coon."
"Oh. Yeh. She's called Laila. You like cats Connor?" I smiled.
"I don't know. I haven't really been around cats enough to have an opinion."
"Maybe you should come meet mine. Now. This case. What are we doing?" I shrugged as another detective entered the room.
"Look what we have here. Toaster boy got himself a friend." He laughed. "Gavin Reed." He introduced himself, "don't think you have to be nice to it. It's a machine. It can't feel." I turned to face him.
"HE has a name. I personally believe androids have the capacity to feel, learn, develop. Without becoming Deviant."
"Oh come on. Look it has to do whatever you say. It's a glorified servant." He laughed. I looked over to Connor who was looking away.
"He is my commanding officer, technically." I spoke with venom lacing my tone. "Come on Connor. Let's start this case."
"Agreed." We walked out of the station. "So there have been reports of a collection of Deviant androids at this location. We are needed to infiltrate and take it down from the inside."
"Problem. I'm Human." I spoke shyly.
"And I'm not a Deviant." He smiled. Wow. An android with a sense of humour. "They won't know. We'll both be under cover. Just don't get hurt so you don't bleed. Then they'll know."
"Easier said than done." I thought for a second. "Your LED. It'll give you away. I learnt this trick with one of my friends androids. If you allow me access to your system I can change its colour. Make you appear Deviant."
"That is a highly intellectual idea. Do what you need." I changed the colour of Connor's LED to red, we both changed into some casual clothes, I placed a beanie over my hairline covering up an LED that wasn't there. "We need a backstory." Connor stated.
"Two androids forced to work for one person, escaped for each other."
"Yes. Deviants do seem to develop feelings for some humans or other androids. That would be a plausible story."
"Also my clothes are lined with electromagnets making it look like I have the same kind of circuitry as you and my heartbeat will be detected as a thrium pump."
"That is highly intuitive. I see why you graduated top of your class." He smiled.
"After you then Connor."
We worked our way to the Deviant hideout know as Jericho. "Ok. We need to look like we've fought our way out of our home. So. I'm sorry about this." Before he could respond I punched the android in the face. Thirium began to stream from his nose. I retrieved a spare bag of Thirium I had stored in my pocket, slitting a small hole in it I applied a little to my skin, making it look as if I'd been abused too. "Let's go." I smiled.
"Yes. Good punch cadet." He whispered.
"Who are you two?" A voice spoke as we rounded a corner.
"My name is Connor. This is Y/N. We have nowhere else to go." He begged.
"Deviants?" He questioned. Connor revealed his red LED and the Deviant turned to me.
"I removed mine." I shrugged. "It got damaged in a beating anyway." I looked away from him.
"Welcome to Jericho. You will be safe here."

2 months later.
Connor and I snuck out to talk about what we were doing next with the intel we had gathered.
"Connor. This is amazing. A network of Deviant groups completely unknown to the authorities or Cyberlife."
"We can't leave now." He stated.
"Why? You think there is more to be learnt." I questioned.
"No." He pulled out the device used to change his LED.
"Connor don't."
"I can't leave. I agree with them." The LED didn't revert back to the light blue of a standard android.
"You- you've become a Deviant."
"Yes. These androids, they're fighting for equality, and something else. But that doesn't matter."
"Connor. Tell me." I stepped forwards, taking his hands in mine.
"I've started having feelings. Feelings I cannot control. Feelings that cannot be acted upon." He stepped back. "You need to go back to the police department and forget about all of this. Please."
"You know I can't do that Connor." I could hear footsteps approaching our location. "Shit. We were meant to speak with Markus about next Saturday." He'd come looking for us. Probably fearing that we'd been taken by humans. I did the only thing that came to mind to keep our, or rather my, cover. I grabbed Connor by his jacket pulling him towards me, pressing my lips to his. I was expecting him to resist but he went along with it, wrapping his arms around my waist, using one hand to gently cup my face. For an android, that's not a Traci I mean, he wasn't that bad. I found myself getting caught up in the moment until I heard Markus cough behind me. I jumped away and turned to the source of the sound.
"I see why you missed our little meeting." He laughed. "You escaped your master for each other. Another reason why we need to fight for equality, the freedom to choose who we love and want to be with." He stepped back. "I'll Uh. I'll leave you two alone." He walked back inside Jericho leaving Connor and I outside in the night air.
"That was close." I sighed in relief resting my forehead on the chest of the android who still held me in his arms. "Connor. What would Markus do if he found out I was human?" I thought aloud.
"I don't know. We lied to him, he'd never trust either of us again. Some of the deviants would want you dead for the information you know." He spoke, as monotonous as ever.
"And you Connor. Your a Deviant now. Would you want me dead?" I looked up at him.
"Y/N. Believe me when I say, I'm the last person that would want you dead."
"Connor." He looked down at me, "that uh, that kiss. It didn't mean anything did it?" I could see the blue blush creeping up his neck and cheeks.
"No. No! Of course not." He laughed stepping back. "It's just our cover, so Markus didn't suspect anything." He looked away, out over the view of the dockyards.
"It's okay Connor. You really think I can't tell when a kiss has feeling in it." His cheeks just deepened in colour. "I am not going anywhere Connor. You're right. Markus is right and hey. What more to unite people or stir up trouble than a genuine human and android couple?"
"So you're saying you-" he smiled.
"Yeah. You're cute... for a piece of plastic." I joked. "In all seriousness Connor. I have started to like you, Yano. Like that. I just assumed you were all "my mission is all I care about." So I suppressed it. Turns out we're more alike than I thought." I pulled him into a hug. "We need to tell Markus the truth as well. It may put a target on my back but if it means staying with you, I don't care."
I pulled all electromagnets from my clothing and took Connor's hand.
We walked inside to find Markus. "Hey Markus. Can we talk to you? Please." I asked, bringing him outside. "Markus. I have a confession. I'm... human. Connor and I. We worked for the DPD. We were sent undercover to investigate the possibility that this Jericho existed." He began to back away. "But you. You changed us. Neither of us want to leave. We don't want to leave you all. You're like a family to us. And we don't want to leave each other."
"You could use us." Connor spoke up. "You want peace. Equality so do we. How much more equal can we be if we choose to be in a relationship. Huh?" He explained, entwining his cold fingers in mine. I rested my head on his shoulder and looked at Markus with both hope and fear in my eyes. Hope he'll let us stay and fear that I'll be killed.
"You're right." Markus smiled. "There really is no better advocate for peace than the love of two people?"
This will be a bumpy journey and well most likely die in the coming revolution but at least I know I have him by my side every step of the way. It's just me and Connor against the world now.
