Denmark
My plane lands in Copenhagen. Time for a great holiday with my friends. We've all always wanted to come to Denmark. We walk down a series of streets to our hotel and check in. We all agree to split up and walk around looking for things to do or somewhere to go out for dinner. "Okay. Back here in an hour and a half." We all nod and go our separate ways. I walk into a beautiful square and look around. Oh. I know what I could do. I'll ask a local. Test out my Danish. I walk towards a rather talk man facing away from me. "Um. Undskyld mig." I tapped his shoulder. He turned around and looked at me, bright blue eyes and blond.
"Ja?" He answered smiling.
"Uh. Engelsk?"
"Yeh. I speak English."
"Oh thank god. My Danish is really bad." I sighed.
"You were doing great. How can I help you?"
"Well my friends and I are on holiday and were wondering what to do. What do you suggest?"
"It depends what you like. We have a lot of museums and art galleries." He paused to think. "We have a shopping centre too come to think of it."
"Ok. Cool."
"I could show you."
"Sure." He walked me around Copenhagen, well as far as we could go showing me all the places we could go. We spoke while we were walking he told me all about himself about how he lived with his friends. He introduced himself formally as Mathias Kohler. It grew colder and started snowing. I pulled my jumper up around my neck. He took off his long brown coat and hung it around my shoulders. "No. You don't have to. You'll get cold."
"I'm used to it. This is my country after all." He laughed. He walked me back to my hotel. "Maybe I'll see you again."
"Yeh. Thanks Mathias." I said turning and walking into the hotel.
Austria
"Mum. Why'd you bring me to this? You know classical music really isn't my thing." I whined sitting in our front row seats. My mum made me agree to come to this in return for her driving me to college every day this year while I'm still learning to drive.
"Just sit back. You may enjoy it."
The first half was okay, mostly stringed instruments. Just as I was about to get up to go to the bathroom a young looking man walked out onstage and sat at the piano in front of us. He was quite good looking. His deep brown hair, dark violet eyes behind black framed glasses. I leaned forwards watching him intently. "See. Told you you'd enjoy it." Mum said smugly.
"Yeh only cos he's hot mum." I whispered to her. I looked back at the man on stage, a small smile graced his lips. Oh lord please tell me he didn't hear that. He played and man could he play. For someone who doesn't really like classical music I thought it was beautiful. I watched his face, the way he connected with the music. At the end of the piece we all stood up clapping, he too stood up and bowed.
"Amazing absolutely amazing." I said to mum. He turned to me, leant down from the stage, took my hand and kissed the back of it.
"I am glad I could convince jou zhat my music is beautiful."
At the end of the night I was walking home with mum. "Who was he? The pianist."
"Roderich Edelstein, Austrian pianist."
"Roderich.. I liked him." I smiled.
Switzerland
New job begins today, I started working at the local shooting range. Not ideal but it's a job and it'll get me the money I need to go university. Then I can finally become a doctor. I was told that today I was to just work the desk, welcoming people who booked and letting any spare ranges to walk ins. This I can do.
As I was left alone a short blond man walked through the door. "Good morning sir. May I take your name?"
"Vash Zwingli." He spoke walking past not looking at me.
"Ok sir enjoy your-" before I could finish he had walked out the back and shut the door behind him. "-day... What a dick."
"Who? Vash?" Another worker spoke from across the shop. "He's okay, doesn't talk much. Unless you catch his eye he won't respect you and will just brush you aside. Like he did." She said walking over to me. "You got any amazing skills?"
"No... I'm just here for a job then I can go to medical school."
"You want to be a doctor?" A voice spoke from behind me. The accent was strange, kind of Germanic but not completely. I turned around to see Vash.
"O-oh. Yes sir." I smiled.
"That must be very expensive for you."
"Yes, but I have a job so I'll soon be there with this job." He placed a hand on top of my head.
"You'll make a good doctor." He spoke before he walked out of the door.
France
"Alright, today we have a guest lecturer in to do a practical demonstration." My lecturer spoke. "This is Francis Bonnefoy. A highly qualified French chef." I looked up at the Frenchman in front of me. Long blond hair, tied back of course as he was working with food. Bright blue eyes and crisp, clean chef whites.
"Bonjour. I will be taking you for today." He pulled out multiple knives and other utensils. "Today we will be making a French classic. Croquembouche." Everyone else groaned and pulled out their phones but I sat up, getting ready to take notes. "Ah. Mademoiselle. You seem interested."
"Yes sir. It is my dream to be a top patisseur."
"Well then. Why don't you come a little closer mon cheri." He smiled. I moved closer and watched him work. It was one of the best lectures I've ever had. "Could you please wait behind, mademoiselle."
"Yes chef?" I replied, packing away my notes.
"I would like you to come and work for me, in France."
"Oh my-I would be honoured!"
"Good, I need a new patisseur." He said walking out, this was one of the best days of my life.
