I was stood in line with the other new corporals, waiting to be assigned to our posts. All the captains and colonels and generals etc had already walked past looking for new subordinates. I kinda hoped to be assigned to colonel Mustang, he's an amazing alchemist and he's in charge of the Fullmetal alchemist. Anyway I was eventually assigned to his task force but as a general foot soldier. I walked into the general office area where my new desk was. Ordering files and running errands. Great. A pile of papers were dropped on my desk. "Hey newbie." A voice spoke. I looked up to see a tall man with blond hair and blue eyes towering over me, half a cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth. As I looked up a smile formed across his face. "Oohhh. A new female officer!" He said excitedly. "You wanna get dinner some time?" He asked flirtatiously.
"Can't sorry. You're my superior officer. We'd lose our jobs and I've worked too hard to get here." I said, looking back down at my paperwork as I spoke. He walked over to another desk.
"Ohh. She's so cold." He sighed. "I LOVE it. I have to have her!" He exclaimed to a fellow coworker. Oh dear. This could be a long career in deed.
-time skip to the lab with lust. (You know when I mean.)-
Well. I'd finally completed my alchemy training and become a state alchemist. Sure is one way to move up the ranks. Now a Major in title I have been sent on a mission with Colonel Mustang, Fullmetal, Hawkeye and Havok to some lab. We split in half. One half going one way and the Colonel, Havoc and I going the other.
We came face to face with a homunculus. Before any of us could move she broke a water pipe using her freaky claw like fingers. Intentionally rendering the Colonel completely useless. "Major! Think you can dry us off?!" The colonel shouted.
"I can go one better sir. I can remove all water molecules from this room." I smiled removing my white gloves revealing the transmutation circles on my hands. In one swift movement I removed all moisture and the Colonel ignited the room. But before anyone could do anything she got to Jean and impaled him. "Jean!!" I screamed as I watched his now limp body fall to the ground, blood pooling around him. She managed the same trick on the colonel coming at him from behind.
"Well. It appears my work here is done. I'll let you watch them bleed to death and come back for you my dear." She spoke as she walked away.
"Jean! Jean it's okay!" I cradled him in my arms. A small smile formed across his lips.
"So you do care." He laughed dryly. I thought momentarily.
"Yeh I do. Now don't move Havoc. That's an order." I said sternly opening his jacket and shirt.
"Heh. Don't you think you should take me out to dinner first Major?" He is bleeding to death and still trying to flirt with me.
"The body is mainly water, so if I focus on the water inside you, I should be able to congeal the blood and stop the bleeding for now." I explained.
"Hey. What have I to lose. I'm a dead man."
"Havoc you idiot. If you live through this, then I'll take you to dinner." I smiled.
"Can't sorry. You're my commanding officer." He coughed, repeating what I had told him the first time we met.
"Damn you." I placed my hand on his side and began to seal the wound. I looked over to the Colonel who had already began to burn his own wound shut. That'd be even more painful than what I'm doing to Jean. He stood up and looked at me.
"Get Havoc out of here. I can handle the rest."
"Yes sir! And Colonel. Thank you."
I pulled Havoc out of the lab and got him to a hospital.
I waited by his bedside until he woke up. "Havoc. You're up." I smiled.
"You're still here?" He mumbled still evidently tired.
"Yeh. I made a promise didn't I?" he just sat there shocked.
"I thought that was just something to keep me going. I didn't think you were actually serious."
"well, you're a persistant guy Havoc. Somewhere along the way I just fell for you. Damn you Jean. Why'd you have to go and get yourself hurt?" I spoke, slight tears in my eyes. "The doctors have said that the damage done to your back cannot be repaired. Jean, you're not gonna walk again." He just sat staring at me. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't you worry about me Major." He smiled. "Plus if you take me on a date and I can't walk. I'll have you waiting on me hand and foot." He spoke his grin never left his face.
"Jean. Stop trying to be strong. I know you're hurting." I said looking down at him. "I would be. I am, for you." He continued smiling. Oh Jean. You damn fool.
