Fictional Character X Reader Oneshots

Sugawara x reader.

New school, new people, new things to do. Karasuno High. Well known for its sports, I have already signed up to the Karate club, I've been studying the martial art since I was a child, but I also want to try something new. Hmm. I stare at the wall filled with the sporting activities. "Track. No. Cycling, not likely. Volleyball, possible I am quite tall. Swimming, nah. Archery another possibility." I muttered to myself.
"Volleyball is your best bet." Someone spoke standing next to me. I jumped away slightly at the sudden presence. "Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you." He smiled. I turned to look at him. He was relatively tall, had silver hair and adorable brown eyes. I mentally slapped myself for staring too long.
"What do you mean volleyball is my best bet?" I asked.
"Well, you're tall, lean, fast and from how quickly you reacted to me being here your reactions are great. You'd make a good volleyball player. Probably somewhere like a setter or a Libero. Probably the latter." I tilted my head slightly.
"You seem to know a lot about volleyball. You're not on the team are you?"
"Yep. Sugawara Koushi. Third year. Setter." He smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Well I'll leave you to decide. It was a pleasure meeting you." He spoke before walking off.
Volleyball it is then.
A few months later.
"Y/N! Nice receive!" My team mate shouted as I successfully received what would've been an ace serve.
"Chance ball!" I called to our setter. The ball was set, spiked and blocked. I had a second to react, to run from one end of the court to the other, to leap, to slip my hand over the floor before the ball could touch it. I'm known in the team for being a wreckless Libero but this was a stretch for me. But I made it. The ball was up again, and this time the point was ours. Little did I know we were being watched.
We won the game and in walked the Karasuno men's team. Oh. I recognise one of them. "Sugawara!" I exclaimed. He smiled and waved at me.
"Well done ladies." The captain addressed us. "I can see you all making it to nationals with us. Karasuno will be on top."
"Yes!" We all said in response and bowed. We all went to walk out to allow the guys to train when someone caught my shoulder. I turned to see Sugawara.
"So. Seems you chose volleyball." He looked at my white and black uniform. "And became a Libero." He smiled.
"Yeh. Well you did say I'd be good as one." I spoke, scratching the back of my neck nervously.
"Yeah. Some of your receives were just amazing." He was so sweet. "Well what I really wanted to ask was would you train with us today. We hate going to half the team and have a match to practice and we need a Libero on each side. Will you train with us?"
"I'd love to!" I beamed. Elated at the idea of playing with Suga and his team. He introduced me to the team and we started practice.
After practice we all sat around chatting, tossing around the last ball. "Y/N! You're meant to be in training!" My karate instructor spoke from the door of the gym.
"My apologies Sensei." I spoke in a low bow. "I'll be right there." I ran to the corner of the room where I threw my Gi on over my volleyball gear and ran out the door. Not saying goodbye to the lads.
I entered the Dojo, bowing as I did so and helped my Sensei take the beginners class. We were about to begin after the warm up when the dojo door opened. In walked the volleyball team. "Hey. We're here to try something new. May we join the class?" Daichi spoke stepping forward. Before I could speak my Sensei spoke up.
"Of course Y/N will take you with the beginners." I turned to him and bowed.
"Yes Sensei." I took the other beginners and the team to one side. "Okay guys today we are doing kicks. I'm going to demonstrate them and then talk you through them." I demonstrated the few Kicks I will be teaching them. "So. You should be able to kick your own head height. So before we start I know we did a warm up but I want you to do some stretches. Get into pairs and one of you sit on the floor." Everyone paired up which only left Suga. "Suga you come with me." He sat on the floor in front of me. "Ok spread your legs and grab your right ankle or foot. Now. The partner, lean your knee on their back." I leant gently against Suga, helping him stretch. "Now the other side." We repeated for the other people and readied for the lesson. "Right!" I clapped my hands. "Now the real fun begins."
At the end of the session I was packing up my stuff when Suga approached me. "You were great, your kicks were amazing! No wonder you're such a good Libero." He picked up my duffle bag, "allow me." He smiled. "I'll walk you home it is getting late."
"Or shouldn't I be walking you home?" I spoke pulling off my black belt and placing it in the bag on Suga's back. "Keep you safe." I smiled.
"Would it be alright if I came back next time?" He asked, as we walked down the street.
"Of course. You did great today." I complimented.
"You know. I've wanted to spend some time with you since we met, but I've never had the courage to." He looked away blushing.
"That's weird. I've always been too scare to ask you the self same thing. You're a third year and I'm just a second year, and I'm new." I smiled shyly. "I've watched you play, you guys are amazing. Your sets look so easy to spike, just slow and steady, little rotation. Oh and your Libero, such skill, he can save almost anything!" I spoke jumping around. "Oh. This is me." I spoke looking at my house. "It was great to spend some time with you Suga. We should uh, do it again sometime."
"I'd love to. Oh. Here's my number. Hopefully we can see each other before next practice." He handed me a piece of paper with his number on it.
"I'll be sure to call you. See you soon Suga."
"See ya Y/N"
