A/N: Hey guys!!! I actually published this story a long time ago, but I took it down because I couldn't update it very often (I was busy updating my other works). But my time's freed up now so enjoy this story my dudes!
Peridot's POV:
"Wahhhgh!!!" I wailed, spilling boiling coffee on my grey sweatpants. I was driving from Starbucks on my way to Beach City University while talking on the phone with my mom. I wasn't paying attention and ran a red light, almost colliding with another car, so I swerved and spilled my coffee. Dammit...I'm gonna have to change before classes start.
I parked in the university parking lot, and walked onto campus. I slung my backpack over my shoulder, and carried my duffel bag with my left arm, and my laptop messenger bag with the other. I struggled through the double doors, and walked right up to the front desk. "Can I help you?" The lady at the desk asks. No, I walked all the way over here to say hi. "Y-yeah, um, I n-need my dorm room key...?"
"Oh! Can I get your name?" She asks in the most enthusiastic, fake might I add, voice she could muster up. "Peridot Greene." I state, setting my duffel bag down for 3 seconds to rest my tired arm. "Okay, here's the key for dorm room 308," she tells me, handing me the key. I struggle to grab the key with the hand currently holding the laptop bag, but I manage to do so anyway.
As I'm walking through the halls, looking for my room number, my hand suddenly slips and drops my laptop bag. It lands with a loud thud on the hard floor. "SHIET!!!" I shout a little too loudly, receiving looks from students walking by. I bend over to pick up my bag, when I suddenly see a tan hand pick it up for me, and hand it to me. I look up to see who it is, and it was my friend Amethyst. (A/N: HA! Y'ALL THOUGHT IT WAS LAPIS DIDN'T YA?!)
"Looks like your first day of school didn't start too well, did it?" She asks, laughing. "Ugh, does it look like today's been a ray of fuckin' sunshine for me?!" I reply sarcastically, gesturing to my coffee-stained pants. "To be honest, I thought you crapped your pants!" The chubby girl states, laughing even harder. "What dorm are you stayin' in?" She asks, ending her mocking laughter. "308..." I mumble, continuing to walk down the hall, Amethyst following closely behind. "Oh! I know where that is! That's right across from mine!" She shouts excitedly, running ahead of me.
She stops at a door, and points to it, "Here it is." I thank her, jiggling the key into the door, kicking it open with my foot. "It's awesome that you're finally living on campus with us, dude!" Amethyst says, before leaving into her dorm. For my freshman year of college, I lived with my parents in our mansion, but my friends begged and begged me to come live at the dorms. I finally gave in and told them that I'd live here sophomore year. And welp, here I am! I much prefer to stay living in my amazing mansion with my awesome parents, but when I mentioned the idea to my parents they were more than happy to send me off.
I felt like they were just trying to get rid of me, so I reluctantly went through with it. I already knew I was gonna be miserable here, walking into my dorm room. It was a very unsettling feeling, living in a small room, with a complete stranger. Well, at least my friends are next door....then again, they didn't really act like friends all of the time. When we were little, they would bully and tease me all the time and call me a nerd. They still tease me here and there, but not as much.
I unloaded my bags, and put my clothes and stuff in the drawers on my side of the room. I closed the door and quickly changed into my dark grey skinny jeans. I put on a black t-shirt with a green alien on it, and threw on a plaid green flannel over. I checked in the mirror real quick and gelled and combed my hair into the triangular shape I was hoping for. I put my small black gages in and adjusted my glasses, grabbing my backpack and heading out the door for my classes.
-One class later-
I had three more hours before my next class started, so I decided to head back to my dorm. I unlocked the door and walked in, throwing my backpack in the corner and flopping onto the bed. I grabbed my laptop and placed it on my lap. While the power was turning on, I noticed that my roommate hadn't shown up yet, and I was wondering if I was even getting one this year. I hoped not, and I began to play Minecraft on server. I know what you're thinking: why the hell is a sophomore in college still playing Minecraft?! I'm a major gamer, and the biggest reason I play Minecraft is because Amethyst and Garnet play on the same server as me and it's a way we 'hang' if we are too lazy to actually see each other in person.
I picked up my headset to put it on over my head, but before I could, I heard someone unlocking the door. My head jerks in the direction of the door, and moments later, the door swings open. My eyes grew wide, I felt my cheeks burn red hot, and I dropped my headset on my poor laptop. A tall girl with short blue-dyed hair, and lightly-tanned skin struts in. She had a slim, curvy figure and a large dark blue backpack hanging from her strong arm. She was wearing a sleeveless white crop-top that revealed her flat, toned stomach. The crop-top read 'GORILLAZ' in red, spray paint-style letters, and she wore dark blue jean short-shorts. She also wore blue converse, but none of the blue clothing she had on compared to those ocean blue eyes. Oh my stars.....WHAT. A. BABE. "Hey roomie," OMIGOD HER VOICE!!!
"U-uh h-hello! My name is Geridot Preene....WAIT NO PERIDOT GREENE! Peridot Greene hehe..." You fucking clod. "Name's Lapis. Lapis Lazuli..." She says with a smirk. We're in silence for a moment, and I suddenly don't mind living on campus anymore...
