Squari's eyes flickered from my face down to the phone in my hand. She raised an eyebrow, and her lips curled into a larger frown. "What're you two doing with mom's phone?" she asked, taking a step further into the doorway. I instinctively swiped my arms away, hiding the device behind my back. I stood up, and felt the pace of my heartbeat pick up drastically. "N-nothing! We don't have mom's phone!" I quickly replied in a shaky voice. "Do you ever knock?" Lapis then asked.

"She's my sister. I can come in here whenever the hell I want." Squari claimed, staring at Lapis. Lapis then stood up, shooting Squari a glare. However, Squaridot simply looked past Lapis toward me, and my stomach lurched. She approached me slowly, and tilted slightly to peer behind my back. I kicked at her, and backed up swiftly. "Don't come any closer, you heathen." I lowly growled, and this earned only a giggle from my sister. "I'm gonna tell mom either way." she stated. "YOU BETTER NOT!" I shouted.

"Then tell me what you were doing with it!" she demanded, and I shook my head violently. Squaridot then stared at me, then Lapis for a long moment. She then spun on her heel, and zoomed out the door. Lapis immediately sprinted after her, and I nearly dropped the phone out of terror. I frantically picked it back up, and ran after the two girls. As soon as I exited my room and entered the hall, I watched Lapis shove Squari against the wall, holding her in place.

Squaridot attempted to remain smug, and kept a smirk on her face. She yanked against Lapis' grip, but her fighting was cut short. She yelped and groaned in pain as Lapis pinned her harder. Her face was now mushed against the hallway wall, and her expression was grumpy. "How strong~" she purred, and Lapis rolled her eyes. "You are not telling your mother anything, you hear me?" Lapis hissed through her teeth.

"And what're you gonna do if I do tell?" Squari asked, squirming. "What is all of this commotion?!" my mother's frightening voice echoed the hall. My gaze switched over to the tall figure standing at the end of the hall. "M-mom!" I whimpered. "MOM!!" Squari yelled, and Lapis immediately clamped a hand over her mouth. "What is going on? Why are you holding Squaridot there?" my mother asked, walking towards us. "W-wait mom! Mom! Don't listen to Squari, she's a big fat liar! She always has been! NO ONE LIKES HER! SHE JUST HATES ME!" I rambled manically, holding my hands up in defense.

"Peridot, what on earth is the matter with you?" my mother asked in an irritated tone of voice. Her voice was still a bit raspy, most likely because she was woken up by the racket. "N-nothing!" I insisted, taking a step back. I held onto the cell phone for dear life, making sure it was out of her sight. Squari's muffled yelling and cursing startled me, and clearly confused mom. Lapis gritted her teeth as her grip tightened on my sister's face. My sister briefly screeched in apparent pain.

"Ms. Lazuli, unhand my daughter this instant!" my mother commanded, and I looked over anxiously at the bluenette. She looked back at me, and I shook my head no. Squari thrashed again, and my mother began to approach the two girls. "HEY WAIT!" I screeched in a panic. "If you want any bit of my respect, you will release Squaridot right now!" she demanded strictly. "She doesn't need your validation!" I protested, attempting to block my mother from coming any closer to Lapis. My mother then shoved me out of the way, causing me to stumble and hit the hard floor.

I groaned, and propped myself up with my elbows. My mother then grabbed Lapis' arm, and I furrowed my eyebrows. "DON'T TOUCH HER, MOM!" I yelled. Lapis immediately released my sister to avoid any further physical contact, and I sighed in relief. I then realized that Squari was actually freed, and I went into another panic. "THEY HAVE YOUR PHONE!" Squari tattled, pointing her finger at me. "NO WE DON'T!" I shouted back. "Peridot, if I check my sidetable, will my cell phone be sitting right there?" my mom asked, turning to me.

I felt sweat form on the back of my neck, and my heart was nearly pounding out of my chest. "Y-yes!" I replied quickly, nodding. My mother raised an eyebrow, and slightly nodded. "Very well. I guess you wouldn't mind me checking." she stated, turning around and heading back upstairs. "N-nope." I shakily squeaked, and Lapis gave me a shocked expression. I threw my arms up in distress, giving Lapis an 'I PANICKED' expression. Squari then snatched the phone out of my hand. "NO!" I screamed, watching as Squari hopped up and down.

"MOM! LOOK!" she shouted, and our mom froze in her tracks. She turned slightly to look down at us all. She then began to walk back down the staircase as she spotted her phone in my sister's hand. "Peridot. You have some explaining to do." she sternly said, taking her phone back. I took a step back, and balled my fists anxiously. "M-mom sh-she had it the whole t-time! I didn't do it! Sh-she tried t-to FRAME ME!" I lied, pointing at Squaridot. Squari then loudly scoffed in response, glaring at me.

"That is not true at all, mom. I mean look at her! She's a deer caught in headlights! She's a trembling mess!" she claimed, gesturing to me widely. "What were you doing on my phone, Peridot? Why couldn't you simply ask for it? What were you sneaking around for?" my mom asked, and my legs felt frozen. "I...I...I-I wasn't doing anything!" I whimpered, feeling my face begin to burn. She then turned on her phone, and began to look through it. "N-NO MOM! I DIDN'T I-I-" I couldn't stop stuttering, and I just wanted to cry. "Why did you plant this ridiculous conversation into my cell phone, Peridot?! Are you trying to ruin my relationship?!" she asked, throwing her hands up in the air.

Her previous angry expression suddenly dissipated. Her face was now blank, and she stared off into space for a good moment. Lapis and I exchanged nervous glances, and Squari looked a bit confused. "That's it...my relationship. Our relationship. YOU TWO ARE TRYING TO RUIN IT!" my mother then raised her voice, and I slightly flinched. "You must have been the two idiots who sent the flowers and card as well?! Don't even try to deny it!" she scolded, and I began to feel ashamed. Lapis had an angry expression on her face, and she just glared straight back at my mom.

"How could you do this?! So you could have this pointless highschool romance? It is hopelessly pathetic, Peridot!" she claimed. "We are in college now, mom! It is not hopeless! I love Lapis!" I argued, furrowing my eyebrows. "But Blue and I are older. We are more mature. I have told you this. Do things just go in one ear and out the other with you?!" she asked, now her furious expression returning. I gulped, and began to look around the floor. I looked at the walls, then up at the ceiling frantically. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears, and my breathing quickened.

All of these emotions began to overwhelm me, and it felt like a borderline panic attack. That's when I snapped. "F-FINE! I-if if i-if y-you won't split up with Lapis' mother, and will proceed to marry her to ruin our relationship..." I balled my fists, and switched my gaze back and forth. I then turned to Lapis, and she looked genuinely concerned about me. I then grabbed Lapis' hand, and dropped down onto one knee, feeling incredibly anxious and impulsive.

"LAPIS!" I cried, staring up at her. Lapis looked utterly shocked, and her mouth gaped open. "WILL YOU MARRY ME?!" I shouted, tightening my grip on her hand. "WHAT?!" Squaridot then screeched in protest. "You can't propose without a ring, you idiot!" my mother then argued. I thought deeply for a moment, and then an idea sparked. I shoved my free hand into my pocket, and yanked out my alien ring from the store we had went to for the flowers. I held it out to her, and stared straight into her eyes. "MARRY ME!" I repeated, and Lapis' bright red blush had spread down her neck, and up to her ears at this point.

My mother then shouted next. "WHAT?!"
