-Christmas Eve-

"I still think it looks pretty damn good." Lapis stated triumphantly, staring at our deformed Christmas tree. She had somehow forcefully jammed the pieces together, and the whole thing was now just plain disproportionate. The middle was much skinnier than the bottom and the top, and it made me internally cringe. However, the lights did end up improving the tree's appearance a little bit. We were both laying on Lapis's bed, and while she was enjoying our tree, I had been on my phone for the past hour.

"You're lucky I love you. Otherwise that thing would be in the trash." I grumbled, not looking up from my phone. Lapis giggled in response, and I huffed. My eyes then darted up as soon as we heard a loud knock on the door. I stared at the door for a long moment, trying to send the message to Lapis that I did not plan on getting up and answering it. After the fourth knock on our door, Lapis groaned and finally climbed out of the bed.

I internally cheered as I watched her approach the door lazily. She opened it, and there stood Amethyst with a large grin on her face. I raised an eyebrow, and sat up in Lapis' bed. "Amethyst?" I squeaked. "Hey dudessss... just wanted to let y'all know that we're all goin' ice skating tomorrow!" she shouted, and Lapis' shoulders we're slightly tensed up. "Why didn't you just text me, Amethyst?" I asked, now dangling my feet over the edge of the bed. Amethyst was silent for a long moment, squinting her eyes as she stared off into space.

Lapis' eyes flickered between Amethyst and I. "I have eggnog!" Ame suddenly barked, seemingly startling Lazuli. "I'm assuming that is not just pure eggnog." I murmured, eyeing the cup in Amethyst's hand. "It's a liiiiiitle spiked. Don't tell anyone!" Amethyst loudly whispered the last part. "Ice skating, huh?" Laz changed the subject, and I stood up. "Yeah! Issa fun thing to do for Christmas, dude. It will be way more awesome if you two came along." Amethyst explained excitedly.

"Amethyst, I told you to leave them alone!" I then heard Pearl's voice scold from across the hallway. Lapis slightly leaned forward to peek out of the doorway toward the right. Pearl then approached the doorway, causing the bluenette to immediately back away. I then walked in front of Lapis, eyeing Amethyst and Pearl intently. "It's fine, Pearl. She was just inviting us to ice skating tomorrow." I explained, and Pearl hummed. "Right. I wasn't too sure if she wanted to exactly show up." Pearl said very quietly, crossing her arms. My eyes slowly moved to the side as I realized she was referring to Lapis Lazuli.

"It sounds fun to me. We will be there, guys." I replied, placing my hand on the door. "SWEET!" Amethyst screamed, spinning on her heel and heading back to her own dorm clumsily. I then heard Lapis make a loud grunt noise behind me, and I rolled my eyes. "Are you sure?" Pearl whispered, seeming to subtly peek over at Lapis behind me. "We'll figure it out." I whispered back, closing my eyes. "You know I can hear you guys." Lapis then deadpanned, and Pearl and I both tensed up.

"Hey um... I'm still really sorry about the whole thing." Pearl muttered, leaning to the side to look at Lapis. I turned my head to look over at the bluenette, awaiting her response. She only turned away, crossing her arms stubbornly. "I know you are." she flatly replied, and I closed my eyes with a sigh. I turned back to Pearl, and she looked certainly disappointed, but not too surprised. "We'll talk tomorrow." I said, nodding my head. Pearl then nodded back, and said nothing. I closed the door slowly, and leaned my back against it.

"Laaapissss..." I groaned loudly, leaning my head back. "What?!" Lapis sat back down on her bed. "It has been way too long. Way too long for you to still be this stubborn." I explained. "It hasn't been long enough, more like it." Lapis murmured quietly, not looking at me. "I'm not going ice skating if she's going to be there." she said, and I sat on the bed alongside her. "Yes you are." I replied. Lapis then looked over at me poutingly, squinting her eyes.

"You two are gonna get along, whether you like it or not. It's gonna be Christmas!" I explained, throwing my hands in the air. "What happened to you not celebrating Christmas?" Lapis asked, turning back away. I groaned, rolling my eyes and leaning back on my hands. "Just shut up and get along with her for one day. That is all I ask." I said sternly, and she remained silent.

My previous stern expression couldn't help but soften, and I reached up to place a hand on her shoulder. "Listen, Lapis. I know you can get along with her for just a mere day, alright? It won't be that difficult." I said in a soft tone, and I heard Lapis softly huff. "Easy for you to say." she grumbled, resting her chin in her hand. I only sighed in response, and pulled my phone back out. As I scrolled through it, I remained sitting up as I heard no sound from Lapis any longer.

I felt the bed slightly move as Lapis climbed off of it, but I did not look up. However, I did look up once I heard a rustle emit from the Christmas tree. Lapis stood there, holding a mistletoe in between her fingers as she stared at it. I simply shook my head and looked back down at my phone. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Lapis climbing back onto the bed as she slightly held the small thing up. "Peridoooottt~" she purred, and I pursed my lips. I barely had a second to react as I felt Lapis suddenly drop all of her weight onto me, holding me down. "H-hey! G-get off!" I growled in protest, feeling a blush coming on.

"Not until you follow the tradition, you nerd." Lapis replied, holding the mistletoe over both of us. I squirmed and thrashed, trying to escape from underneath Lapis, but failed miserably. She straddled me, and her arm remained unmoving. I stared up at her grumpily, and she only had a smug grin on her face. "Finnnneee!! Promise to get off me once I do?" I asked. "No promises. But I just might." Lapis replied, and I grunted loudly.

The bluenette then leaned down, and planted a kiss on my lips. My face heated up, and I eventually kissed back. After a few seconds, I caught my lips slightly curling into a smile through the kiss.

Hey. This aint technically a authors-note but I just wanna apologize for the late update. I was busy. - Paris
