I opened the door to my dorm, and stepped in slowly. I almost yelped as I spotted Lapis sitting on my bed on her phone, fully awake. I closed the door behind me quietly, just praying she wouldn't notice m- "Where have you been?" Lapis asked, glancing over at me. "Uhm, nowhere." I replied quietly, avoiding eye contact. Lapis laid back and placed her phone on her stomach. "Nowhere, huh?" she raised an eyebrow, giving me a skeptical look.
"You're not getting into trouble now, are you?" she asked, resting her arms behind her head. "'Cause if you were, I'd wanna be apart of that." she added with a half smile. I couldn't help but chuckle a little, but I kept my head down. "It's really nothing, Lapis. Don't worry about it." I said, keeping my arms tightly by my sides. I then heard the squeak of my bed as she climbed off of it, and I sensed her footsteps getting closer to me.
She took my arm and I squeaked, looking over at her in surprise. "What is this?!" Lapis asked, studying my wrist. "Your wrist is bruised!" she said in an angry tone. "O-oh that?! That's uhm... I didn't...!" I stuttered, and couldn't think of anything at the moment. The bluenette stared me down, furrowing her eyebrows. "Where were you, Peridot?" she asked in a more serious voice now, and I shrunk back. "I sort of... maybe... might have... kinda... been with Jasper." I mumbled, looking away. "Y-you what?! What did he do?!" Lapis raised her voice, now sounding more afraid. She took a step back and gave me a fearful expression.
"Hey hey hey Lapis it's okay, I'm okay! Okay?!" I took a step forward, reaching my hands forward. She wrapped her arms around herself tightly, and her breathing began to pick up. "H-he hurt you, didn't he?! He did that!" she shouted, taking another step back. "What did you say to him?! Is he coming?!" she asked anxiously. "Lapis, please calm down! I hate seeing you like this! J-just don't worry too muc- BANG BANG BANG! Someone banged on the door roughly, startling both Lapis and I.
"Wh-who's that?!" Lapis whimpered, her body now starting to shake. I cautiously walked to the door and placed my hand on the knob. I ever so slowly turned it, and pulled it open gently. "JESUS!!" I screeched as I saw Jasper's hulking figure standing in the doorway. I heard Lapis gasp behind me, and Jasper took a large step into the room, causing me to back the hell up. I then took a small step forward, feeling my foot tremble a little. "G-get outta here, Jasper!" I said, my voice cracking a little.
"How did you find out?!" Jasper's deep voice boomed, and he took another step forward. However, I did not move from my spot, and stared him straight in the eye. "Th-that's none of your business! Now get out!" I shouted, feeling a little bolder. Jasper then looked over my shoulder, right at Lapis, and wore a serious expression on his face. I turned around to look at Lapis, and she stared back at my brother with terrified eyes. Her breathing became more heavy, and I could see her hands shaking. I turned back around and balled my fists. "Leave her alone, Jasper!" I commanded. "I need to talk to her." he deadpanned, taking another step forward.
He tried to side step to get past me, but I stepped in front of him to block him again. "LET ME TALK TO HER!!!" he shouted through gritted teeth. "N-no! You'll have to go through me first!" I yelled back. "I've gone through you several times, Peridot! I will gladly do it with ease again!" he stated, furrowing his thick eyebrows. "Try me." I growled, glaring at him. He then stomped forward, lifting his hand to shove me, but I backed up fast enough to barely dodge it, causing him to stumble forward a tiny bit. I then shoved him with all my strength, making a loud grunt noise. "Peridot!" Lapis cried in a panicked tone.
Jasper looked taken aback, and he lowly growled, gritting his teeth. "Why are you defending her anyway?! She's just your roommate, I've known her much longer than you have! You're gonna believe her or me?" Jasper asked in an upset tone of voice. "She's not just my roommate, Jasper! She..." I looked down at the floor, my fists remaining balled up. "She what?!" Jasper asked impatiently. "Sh-she's my girlfriend!!!" I shouted. Jasper's eyebrows shot up in surprise, and his jaw dropped a little. "How come you never told me you were gay?!" Jasper asked, looking over my shoulder at Lapis.
Lapis stuttered, and her voice was shaky. "That's enough! I want you to get out of here right now!" I commanded once again. "Excuse me?! I can't believe my own little sister betrayed me by going and moving in on my ex!!! That's some messed up shit right there!" he shouted. "I didn't just 'move in on your ex' for the hell of it, Jasper! I had no idea Lapis was your ex at first!" I explained angrily. The big guy crossed his arms and pursed his lips. "Mhm. Yeah. Whaaaat a coincidence..." he said in sarcastic tone. "I'm serious!" I cried, feeling more frustrated.
"This is your fault!" Jasper grumbled, pointing at Lapis. Lapis shrunk back at the accusation and scrunched up her eyebrows in an upset expression. "No it's not! She was just being honest and telling me the truth about how you really are!" I shot back, pointing a finger in his face. "That's it. Move over, twerp." he growled, placing his hand on me and roughly shoving me over, causing me to violently stumble backwards. He stormed past me and straight for Lapis, causing her to yelp in terror. She quickly backed away from him as fast as possible, but backed up right into her desk, making a loud bang noise.
"JASPER NO!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, charging towards him.
