A/N: hey guys sorry for the late update, I've had a busy evening lol thanks for your patience <3

"Now what?!" I asked, lifting my head back up from the desk. Lapis then yelled something, but her voice was muffled in the blankets. "What?" I spun back around in my chair to look at Lapis. She then lifted her head, and glared at me. "We obviously can't get them to break up through supposed 'lies'! They trust each other too much for that!" she repeated. "I bet they haven't even been together that long." I grumbled, crossing my arms.

"It doesn't matter. There's no way their trust could be broken that easily! We have to dig deeper." Lapis said, sitting back up. She stared at the floor looking deep in thought, and I tilted my head. I bit the inside of my cheek, beginning to think hard as well. "Those flowers could've been from anyone in a prank or something... I should've known our parents are smarter than that." Lazuli huffed. That statement suddenly sparked an idea into my brain.

"True...but what if there was proof that my mother knew this 'secret admirer'?" I asked, squinting my eyes. Lapis then cocked her head to look back up at me. "You have something in mind... spill it." Lapis then got off the bed, and approached me. "What if we planted evidence into the situation... and left it deliberately in your mother's reach?" I suggested, taking Lapis' hands in mine. "But how? What kind of evidence would be valid enough?" she then asked, raising an eyebrow.

I pursed my lips and glanced over at the wall for a moment. "Hmmm..." Lapis then slipped from my hold, and she began to pace back and forth. It seemed that she had an idea in the works. "You got something, Laz?" I stood up from my chair. Lapis put a hand on her hip, and held a finger up to me. She then put her free hand on her chin, and grunted. "Text messages." she deadpanned. "Yeah...that could work!" I perked up, looking around my room. "We just need to find a way to get ahold of my mom's phone." I muttered.

"Does your mom always keep her phone with her?" the bluenette turned to me. "Probably not. We'd most likely have to do it once our parents are asleep." I replied. "Shoot. What about timestamps?" she then asked. "What do you mean?" I signaled for her to further elaborate. "If we plant all the text messages at once while Yellow is asleep, mom will know it's a lie because she was asleep during that time. With her right beside her!" Lapis explained.

"Trust me, if a woman sees cheat texts on her fiance's phone, the LAST thing she will pay attention to is the time they were sent." I stated. "Are you sure?" she asked timidly. "I am 99.99% sure." I said, puffing my chest. "Well then, we better get ahold of that phone." Lapis then said, shrugging her shoulders. "Once they go to bed, I'll sneakily take it off the charger. It's perfect." I insisted.

. . . .

I clamped a hand over my mouth as I accidentally stepped on a jagged high heel. I wanted to scream so badly, but I gave my everything to refrain. Once I regained my composure, I continued to tip toe towards my mother's side table. My mother and Blue were fast asleep in their queen sized bed, and the side table was right beside the mattress. I finally reached the table, and I slowly reached for the cell phone.

I picked the up carefully, and tried my best to stay quiet as I unplugged the charger. Once the long cord was separated from the device, the device made a loud buzz noise. My heart literally sank in my chest as the noise startled me at the same time. I immediately crouched down, just in case my mother shifted or anything. I waited a few minutes before realizing it was safe to move again.

I then quickly tip toed back out of the bedroom, avoiding the high heel I previously stepped on. Lapis was waiting outside the door, and as soon as I exited, she beamed with excitement. "Good job, babe. Now LET'S HURRY BEFORE SOMEONE CATCHES US!" she whisper shouted. I nodded in response, and we dashed back to my bedroom. As we entered, I carefully shut the door behind us.

"Okay so what number are we planning on texting from, Peridot?" she asked, scrolling through my mother's contacts mindlessly. "My mom doesn't have your number, so we could just save yours under another name." I replied, taking the phone back. Lapis gave me her number, and I created a new contact. "What should we name this gal?" I asked, looking back up at Lapis. "Patricia." she almost immediately replied, and I gave her a strange look. I held back a laugh as I did as she requested: ❤️Patricia❤️

We spent nearly twenty minutes creating a whole fake flirty conversation, giving details about obvious 'plans' they had. Lapis and I weren't even this flirty, but it had to be exaggerated enough to really get Blue's temper boiling. "This has to work!" Lapis insisted, looking down at the fake conversation with me. My heart nearly stopped as someone kicked my bedroom door open. Lapis' head snapped in the direction of the door, looking just as terrified as me. There stood my sister Squaridot, with her arms crossed and a nasty expression on her face.
