Chapter 19

"It's awesome that you're joining us Peri, but remember the last time you went swimming?" Amethyst asked, slipping her jeans off. "Don't worry about it. I'll stay in the shallow part." I replied, halting from taking my shirt all the way off. Is Lapis looking? "Alright, suit yourself, P-dot!" Amethyst said, unclipping her bra, and turning her back to us. She then slipped her panties off, and Pearl groaned and looked away with a huge blush on her face. "Hurry up, Pearl!" the short girl shouted as she went running down to the edge. 

She yelled cannonball and jumped into the water with a huge splash. "This won't end well..." Pearl muttered, unbuttoning her shirt. She gently put it down on the ground and took her pants off as well. She was now left in her bra and panties, and she looked extremely hesitant. "C'mon, don't be shy, Pearl. Peridot and I will show you how it's done, right Peri?" Squari looked over at me with an evil smirk. I glared at her and grumbled. Squari then slid her jeans down slowly, and I can tell she was just trying to get Lapis's attention. Grrrr.

Next, she swiftly slid her long-sleeved shirt off, and threw it to the ground near Lapis. Of course she was wearing the sexiest set of bra and panties she could probably find, and I rolled my eyes, wanting to die. She swaggered down the path up to the edge that led to the water below, and she side-glanced us. I looked over at Lapis, and noticed that she looked super uncomfortable, avoiding eye contact with Squari. Jesus christ this was taking forever. As I stormed up to the edge, I yanked my shirt off, and kicked my jeans down. I threw my clothes to the side, leaving me in my sports bra and panties. 

"While we're young, Squari." I grumbled, gesturing for her to go already. "Oh, if you're so confident, then why don't you go first?" Squari suggested. My face heated up, and I realized that I didn't think I'd get this far. You can't let Lapis see you butt-naked! Or can you? Would she be disgusted? Or interested? Ahshdejfgng--"We're waiting, Peridot." Squari said, crossing her arms. "R-right!" I replied nervously, and looked down.

Third-Person POV:

Peridot gripped the hem of her sports bra, and started pulling it up over her head. She had a huge blush that spread from her cheeks all the way down to her shoulders. She had fully taken the bra off, but kept her back facing the others, embarrassed. "Take my glasses." Peridot deadpanned, handing them over to Squari. Amethyst watched from the lake, eyes glued to the nerd's nice rack. Peridot then quickly takes her underwear down, and throws it to the side as well. The heat in her face was now at maximum level, and she could feel the eyes on her.

Lapis's eyes wandered from Peridot's bare back, slowly down her defined hips, to her particularly large backside. The bluenette darted her eyes down to the ground, feeling a blush come on. Pearl watched in awe, not believing that Peridot actually followed through with this. Garnet watched in silence with her arms crossed, chewing on a toothpick.

Peridot's POV:

I stepped even closer to the edge, and was thinking of doing something else to impress the others. I couldn't tell if Lapis was looking at me or not, but I'm sure that this would get her attention. I took a few steps back, took a running start, and jumped off of the edge, jerking my body direction downward. I used enough force to do a full front flip, and surprisingly landed in the water feet-first. I knew that I wasn't that deep in the lake, so I reached the bottom of it with my feet, and popped my head out of the water. I gasped for air and slicked my hair back. "WOOOO NICE FLIP PERI!!!" Amethyst cheered, holding her hand up for a high-five. 

I high-fived it, and laughed victoriously. The water was hella cold, but I took a few deep breaths and sucked it up. Squari had a grumpy expression on her face, glaring right at me. It was my turn to give her a smug look, and she rolled her eyes in response. She still had her bra and panties on, standing there at the edge. Coward. She unclipped her bra and threw it to the side, and slipped her panties off too. "Let's go!" she shouted, running to the edge and dolphin-diving into the water. It barely made a splash, and the others cheered. I crossed my arms and scoffed. It wasn't as cool as my flip.

"COME ON, PEARL!! WE'RE WAITING ON YOU!!!" Amethyst yelled, cupping her mouth with her hands. Pearl stood there timidly, making confused noises. "Ugh, alright alright." she said in an irritated tone of voice. She unclipped her bra and dropped it to the ground, taking her panties off afterward. Her slim figure and pale skin gleamed in the moonlight, and her long legs were shaking. Pearl plugged her nose, and jumped into the water, shutting her eyes. It made a large splash, splashing my face, and I felt it get in my eyes. I rubbed my eyes and giggled. "Yay Pearl!!!!" Amethyst and Squari cheered. 

Pearl's previous neat hair was now drooping over her eyes, and she groaned. She slicked her hair back and covered her breasts with her arms. "It's freezing in here." she grumbled, looking to the side. "I've seen too many naked asses tonight." I heard Lapis deadpan from up on the edge, sitting in a fold up chair. "Only disappointment is that we haven't seen yours!!!" Amethyst shouted up to her, and Lapis rolled her eyes and scoffed. "You wish." she replied. I wish. 

"C'mon, Lapis! It's not gonna hurt!" Squari shouted, smirking. NO ONLY I CAN SAY THAT. "I'm good. I'll just watch up from here...where it's safe...and warm...and dry." Lapis replied, crossing her arms. I giggled and shook my head, bending my legs to sink lower into the cold water. A rumble noise then emitted from the water, and we all gasped and looked at each other. "What was that?" Amethyst asked, looking nervous. "What if it's the Ningen?" Squari asked, wiggling her fingers. "Stop it!" Pearl said in a scared tone of voice. "They do linger in the water late at night, you guys." Squari claimed, and I started getting a little shaken too. 

"That's silly, Squari. There's no such thing as a Nin--" FLOOSH!!! Something bubbled from under the surface of the water and looked like it was about to come up. "AHHHHHHHHH!!!!" All of us screamed in unison, and they started running out of the lake. "WAIT GUYS!!" I screeched, trying to run after them, but not fast enough. I was falling behind and heard the thing floating toward me, heightening my anxiety. I then just started screaming at the top of my lungs, as I was left behind, and I spotted Lapis at the edge. 

I heard her groan, diving into the water next to me. She popped back up and wrapped her arms around my waist, pulling me closer to the shore. I panted and looked up at Lapis, who was looking straight ahead while running in the water with all the force she had. She made grunting noises as she pushed her legs forward, and I tried to help by paddling. We then reached the shore, and Lapis dropped me onto the ground, falling onto her back in exhaustion. I felt myself trembling from the terror and low temperature, and I wrapped my arms around myself. 

I made sure to cover my chest out of embarrassment that Lapis might've seen it already. I also closed my legs and blushed, looking away. "I'm not looking, you nerd." I heard Lapis mutter, closing her eyes as she laid there. "You guys okay?!" I heard Pearl's voice ask as she ran up to us throughout a back path. "Yeah, we're fine. Lapis saved me...again." I said, feeling humiliated. "Also uhm, that supposed 'Ningen' we thought was swimming up to drag us down, was actually a tire that bubbled up to the surface." Pearl explained looking to the side. I looked over at the water, and spotted the large black object, just floating there. God dammit. 

I laughed nervously as Lapis then looked up at me with a glare. She sat up and grumbled. I had to admit though, her hair looked sexy when it was soaking wet. However, her clothes were soaking wet as well, and I could feel the tension between us build. "F-fuck I'm sorry! I just uh I..." I stuttered, looking to the side. I choked on my words and just huffed, dashing full speed up the path leading to the campfire, leaving Lapis sitting there. I felt anger and humiliation build up in me and I furrowed my eyebrows as I ran faster.

"Goodnight, guys." Squari said, as Amethyst was already fast asleep in Pearl in their tent. Garnet and Squari shared a tent next to the Amethyst and Pearl's tent, and mine and Lapis's tent was next to theirs. "Goodnight." Garnet and Pearl replied in unison. Lapis had already dried off, and changed her clothes. "Goodnight," she told me, before laying down on her side of the tent. "Night." I deadpanned, turning my back to her stubbornly and yanking the covers over me. I shut my eyes, still feeling humiliated from earlier, and huffed. 

Before I knew it, I heard Lapis's quiet snoring in the background, and I quickly peeked over to look at her. Her chest was rising and falling peacefully, and she looked exhausted. I turned back over and pulled the blankets over me tighter, trying to fall asleep. Dammit...
