I grabbed onto Jasper's arm and tried to yank him away from Lapis, but he just shoved me off, sending me tumbling to the floor. He grabbed Lapis's wrist, and pulled her away from the desk roughly. "HEY!!" I screamed, trying to sit up. Lapis's legs were trembling, and her arms were shaking. The expression on her face looked terrified and helpless, and I knew I had to do something. "I can't believe you would go and date my fucking sister, Lapis! What's the matter with you?!" he hissed, pulling her face real close.
Third-person POV:
Lapis stuttered, and wriggled, trying to escape his tightening grip. While Jasper was gripping her wrist with his left hand, he used his right hand to slap Lapis across the face. "That is just disrespect and you know it!" he growled, and Lapis just took it all. She was terrified, and felt like she was going to get beat again. She began to have flashbacks, and her lip quivered as tears spilled down her face uncontrollably. The sound of Peridot's throaty scream filled the room, startling both Jasper and Lapis.
The last thing Jasper saw was a chair as it came crashing down towards him. He was knocked out cold as it collided with his head, causing him to release Lapis and spiral backwards onto the floor with a loud thud. Lapis stared down at Jasper in awe, then slowly back up at Peridot. "D-did you just smash a chair over his head?!" she asked in a shaky voice. "U-uhhhh...y-yeah?" Peridot replied in a nervous tone of voice, shrugging. "WH-WHAT THE FUC-" "I COULDN'T THINK OF ANYTHING, OKAY?! I'M SORRY HE WAS JUST H-HURTING YOU AND I UH-GAH!!" Peridot rambled, feeling her face heat up.
Although Peridot felt like Lapis was upset with her for doing this, she was far from it. If anything, she was rather impressed by her boldness and she was grateful for her rescue. But, of course, Lapis was shocked by this sudden action, so she felt the need to freak out. "D-DID YOU KILL HIM?!" Lapis asked, staring down at him with wide eyes. "I-I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW!!!" Peridot screeched. She shoved the chair out of the way, and knelt beside him. "J-Jasper! Jasper?!" she repeated, lightly slapping him in the face. The blonde whimpered as she spotted the blood running down his forehead.
"Wait hold on." Lapis said, and Peridot scooted out of the way. Lapis straddled Jasper, and looked at him closely. "Jasper... JASPERRRRRRR!!!!" she yelled at the top of her lungs in his face, and Peridot raised an eyebrow. Lapis gently slapped him on the face about three times. She then slapped a little harder, still getting no response. She lifted her hand, then swung it down at the speed of light. "Uh, Lapi-" SMACK.
"LAPIS THERE ARE SEVERAL HANDPRINTS ON HIS FACE!!" Peridot shouted, getting anxious. Lapis then stared at her intensely for a moment in silence. SMACKSMACKSMACKSMACKSMACK- "LAPIS STOP!!" Peridot kept Lapis's hands from assaulting Jasper's face any more. "HE'S NOT WAKING UP!!" Lapis screamed, feeling under pressure. "Just ch-check for a pulse!" Peridot suggested. Lapis placed her two fingers against a part of his neck and waited for a moment. Lapis then let out a sigh of relief, closing her eyes. "He's alive."
Peridot's POV:
It felt like I was holding my breath this whole time, so I exhaled sharply. I scooted up to Jasper and put my ear to his chest, listening. Heartbeat. Okay good. "S-so what're we supposed to do with him now?!" Lapis asked in a worried tone of voice. What DO we do with him?! "I have no idea, but he's gonna wake up soon. So we gotta think of something fast." I replied, standing back up. "Why don't we just take him to his dorm? M-maybe when he wakes up he'll think all of this was a dream and he just had a lot of drinks last night." Lapis explained. "Good idea. But what dorm is he in?" I asked. "Shit I haven't been to his dorm in so long. I forgot." Lapis said, facepalming.
"Hey don't worry about it, okay? It's gonna be fine, and we're gonna work this out." I told her, and she looked at me with scared eyes. "We'll get the info from someone else here." I said, opening the front door. "Make sure the door is locked so no one barges in here and sees Jasper's bleeding body just laying there on our carpet." I said, looking down at my poor brother. "D-don't say it like that... you make it sound like we're tryna hide a dead body of a guy we just murdered." Lapis said in a shaky voice.
. . . .
"I have no idea. Why do you guys need to know, anyways?" Amethyst said, raising an eyebrow. "O-oh! Just... because it's been a while since I've seen him and I wanted to pay him a visit." I said, twiddling my thumbs. "Oh. Well it's been a while since I've seen him too, so I'll tag along." Amethyst said, and Lapis and I shot each other a nervous look. "NO!! N-no, it's uhm, Jasper might not even be at his dorm right now, heh. We don't even know where the dorm is, that's why we asked you. We'll let you know when we find it." I explained, trying my hardest not to stutter. "Well alright then. Seeya dudes later." Amethyst said, walking into the kitchen.
Lapis and I nodded, leaving her and Pearl's dorm without another word. "Who else do we ask? His friends maybe?" Lapis asked. "Uh... I-I don't know if that's a good idea..." I replied, remembering how they watched me tell Jasper off. We walked in silence for a while, thinking hard. "Wait...what about your sister?" Lapis suddenly asked, and I turned my head to look at her. "Squari?! No way!" I said loudly in a cracky voice. "Peridot, we really don't have any other choice. There's no doubt Squari went to go visit Jasper at least once since she's been here." Lapis explained, and I groaned. "nO! I hate her!" I growled, staring down at my feet.
"Please, Peridot. We're gonna be in big trouble if we don't do this... this could have serious consequences." Lapis said, turning to me and putting her hands on my shoulders. I stared into her eyes, and felt my palms get sweaty. We stared at each other for almost a whole minute, before I groaned loudly in defeat. "Fiiiiine." I grumbled, rolling my eyes. Lapis took her hands off of me and gave me a small smile. "Thanks. Like you said, everything will be okay. We'll figure this out." she said, and I looked down, blushing. We walked all the way over to my sister's dorm, and I knocked on the door.
