Chapter 43

Fuck fuck fuck is she complaining about the noise last night?! I HOPE LAPIS DENIED IT WAS US. Please tell me Lapis denied it was us. "H-hey, listen it wasn't us, Aquamarine, so you could ju-" "You cannot have that filthy thing living with you two in the dorms!!" Aqua interrupted me, and I blinked a few times. "Wh... what?"  squeaked, confused. "You have no right telling us what to do you frigid bitch." Lapis spat, pointing a finger in the shorter one's face.

"I have every right if it's breaking the rules here! You will get rid of that dog immediately!" Aquamarine barked. "This puppy isn't going anywhere." Lapis growled. "Then I guess I'll have to inform the school board." Aquamarine said in a cocky tone, crossing her arms. "You better not!" Lapis hissed as her hand swung back to probably backhand Aquamarine. My hands immediately shot up to grab the angry bluenette's wrist. "Hey hey hey l-look I'll handle this, okay?" I said softly.

Lapis only huffed and glared at Aquamarine. I turned around to look at Aquamarine with tired eyes. "Can you please just make an exception? Pumpkin's not even bothering you." I said quietly. "Yeah it's none of your damn business!" Lazuli piped up. I closed my eyes and sighed, hearing the British girl grunt angrily. "I won't let this fly. Especially with her nasty attitude!" Aqua spat, and I groaned. "You don't own the campus, Aqua. Can you just pretend you never saw the puppy?" I asked, as I peeked up at Topaz, who was standing behind her.

Topaz looked just as annoyed as us, but remained silent. "No!" she quickly snapped. "Why.... are you working to make everyone's life harder?" I huffed, rolling my eyes. "I'm just following campus rules that you delinquents seem to ignore." the brat grumbled. "Delinquents my ass... it's a god damn puppy." Lapis grumbled, crossing her arms. "You two ignorant bastards are only making it harder for yourselves. Professors and administrators will find out eventually." Aquamarine explained in a hissy tone, jamming her finger into my collarbone.

I furrowed my eyebrows, lowly growling knowing she was too close. Lapis jerked forward and slapped Aqua's hand harshly. "Don't touch her!" Lazuli balled her fists again. "Okay, Aqua, I think we've put 'em in their place. Let's go." Topaz said in a soft tone of voice placing a large hand on Aquamarine's shoulder. Aqua thrashed away from the larger girl's touch and shot us both a dirty look. "I promise the puppy won't get in the way of you guys, okay? Can you please just not tell anyone? She won't bother you, and we'll keep her well away from you." I pleaded.

The Brit stared at us both with murderous eyes, then shut them tightly. "You do realize that if you're caught with this dog, I could get in serious trouble?" she finally replied. "What? Why you?" I asked, arching an eyebrow. "YO PERIDOT!! LAPIS!!" Amethyst's voice boomed in the distance, and I looked over to my right. Pearl and Garnet were standing with her, and Ame waved. "WE'RE GOIN' BOWLING!! COME WIT' US!!!" she shouted, and I squinted my eyes. "Just don't let that dog be seen, understand?" Aqua asked in a serious tone. I scrunched up my eyebrows, and only stared at her.

She pinched the bridge of her nose, and speed walked away. Topaz looked over at us, shrugged, then followed after her slowly. What was she talking about? Why would she get in trouble? "WELL?!!!" Amethyst shouted again, and I slightly flinched. "W-we'll meet you at the bowling alley!" I yelled back, and Ame gave me a thumbs up. I looked back at Lapis, and she looked distressed. "I don't wanna get rid of Pumpkin, Peridot... we just got her." she whimpered.

"We're not gonna get rid of her. And we most definitely won't let Aquamarine anywhere near her either." I assured, putting a hand on her arm gently. I felt Pumpkin lick my ankle, and I looked down at her. "You know what... just to be safe, we're taking you with us bowling." I told her, petting her small head. Lapis bent over and picked up the small puppy, kissing her head. "I thought they don't allow pets into the bowling alley, either." Lapis chuckled. I snickered. "I know." I replied, walking back into our dorm.

I picked up my backpack from the floor, and dumped all of the contents out onto my messed up bed. I heard the door close, and the puppy squealed. I turned around and held out my hands, gesturing for Lapis to hand me the small animal. Laz stretched out her arms, holding Pumpkin out to me. I smiled and took her, hugging her close for a moment. She was so warm and soft. I turned back around and carefully placed Pumpkin into the backpack. "I'll bring her to the bowling alley the same way I brought her here." I stated, patting her head.

"Hm. Not bad. But will it really bypass the owners?" I heard Lapis ask. "It fooled you." I replied, turning to her for a moment. She pursed her lips and gave me disinterested eyes. I giggled and zipped the backpack up to the edge. I left it slightly open so Pumpkin could breathe, and I grabbed my wallet from the dresser. I placed the wallet into the front pocket of the bag, and slung the bag over my shoulder. "Alright, let's go then." I said, taking my keys off of the dresser as well.
