Lapis's POV:
I unlocked the door, swinging it open and walking inside. My steps come to a halt for a moment, realizing that my roommate had already gotten here. She was sitting on her bed with her laptop sitting in her lap. It slightly startled me when she dropped her headset on the thing with a loud 'clack' noise.
I looked at her, and noticed that she had this cool-looking blonde hair styled into a triangle shape. She pushed up her round glasses, her face beet red. Damn, I must've startled her bad, I thought. I noticed that she was staring at me for a while, so I decided to speak first. "Hey roomie," I say casually. She introduced herself, "U-uh h-hello! My name is Geridot Preene....WAIT NO PERIDOT GREENE! Peridot Greene hehe..." "Name's Lapis. Lapis Lazuli.." I reply, walking over to my side of the room, dropping my backpack on the floor.
"So what year are you?" the blondie asked after some silence. "Sophomore. What about you?" I asked, continuing to put my clothes in the drawers. "Same..." she replied, and I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked the time - 3:18 PM. "I gotta get going. I'll catch ya later, Peridot..." I said, and with that, I picked up my blue backpack and headed out the door for my class that I was in fact late to.
Peridot's POV:
Lapis left and quietly closed the door behind her. I was alone once again. "Peridot? Hello? HELLO?! PERIDACTYL!!! pErIdOt!!!" I heard Amethyst's voice shouting from my headset, and I quickly picked it up, putting it over my head. "Oh my stars, you guys. My new roommate is hot." I said through the mic. "oOoOoO, I'll be the judge of that. What's her name?" Amethyst shouted, and I had to turn my volume hella low because of her obnoxiously loud voice.
"Her name's Lapis, and you better not scare her off, Amethyst!" I growled, proceeding to walk across the terrain of the video game. "Chill it dude! I won't. But I definitely gotta see her!" she replied, and I saw her in the distance setting random houses on fire. "The hell are you doing?" I asked, watching as the villagers panicked and ran in circles as they were engulfed in flames.
"None o' yo beeswax, P-dot! When does this chick's class end?" she asked. "I dunno, she just left for it, so probably around 4:15ish..." I muttered. "Dude. You gotta show her to me! You know what? We're all gonna meet at the cafeteria and you gonna show her to me once she gets outta her class." Amethyst stated. "Amethyst, we're gonna look like creeps just staring at her as she leaves her class. I barely even know this girl, and I don't wanna have a bad impression on her already..." I scolded.
"Watch out, dude." Amethyst deadpanned. "Hey! I'm not scared of you, what makes you think tha--aAaAaAAAGGHGHHH!!!" I screeched as I realized that Amethyst was referring to the creeper sneaking up behind me, then blowing me up. "DAMMIT!" I hollered, thrashing my legs in the air for a moment. "You're such a nerd, Peridork..." Amethyst said with a chuckle.
I growled in annoyance, and searched for my hard-earned supplies that I left behind in the explosion. "Fine. But we're gonna hafta be slick about it, you hear me? I don't want her to think that we're spying on her or something..." I explained. "Isn't that what we're doing though?" Amethyst asked, snickering. "SHUT UP! You guys are really embarrassing and loud whenever I get into these situations..." I said.
"Ouch." Garnet suddenly muttered. "Hey, when you liked me I was chill with being spied on..." Amethyst said jokingly. "I NEVER SPIED ON YOU!!!" I screeched, curling my fingers in frustration. "Well you were pretty head over heels for me..." Amethyst purred. "Ughhh.." I groaned, and I took off my headset for a moment. Yes, Amethyst and I went out for about 2 months - it's kind of a sore subject for me because she ended up cheating on me with Pearl.
I guess it wasn't really meant to be, considering that I kind of lost feelings for her when she hung out with Pearl more often than me. Her and Pearl are still dating, and I don't like bringing up the subject too much because it still bugs me to this day. But this new girl is different - not only is she more attractive, but she might actually be nice and trustworthy for a change.
No shade to Amethyst, hands down she's still one of my best friends, but I just get peeved about the past sometimes. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, pinching the bridge of my nose. I had a headache, and I had to get out for a while. I heard shouting and other weird noises coming from my headset even though the volume was at like 2 out of 10.
I picked up my headset to switch it off, but then I heard Jasper's voice. Jasper?! I haven't talked to him in forever! (A/N: Yeah Jasper's a dude in this one - otherwise the story wouldn't work) "Jasper?!" I said in the mic. "Ay, Peri! How you doing?" he asked as he joined the game. "I'm good I'm good!" I said enthusiastically. "Oh honestly you guys, it's only been a couple months." Pearl deadpanned. "Hey! It gets tough when you haven't talked to your little sis in that long." Jasper barked into the mic.
Jasper is a senior in college and I hardly get to see him often - so this was a big deal. I was never really involved in his life, but we still looked out for each other when we needed it. It all changed once he left to college. "So whatcha guys talkin' about?" he asked. "Peridot's new hot roommate." Amethyst said. "Amethyst!" I growled through gritted teeth. "What? You said she was hot!" she said, laughing.
"Ooooo, what's the gal's name?" Jasper asked, sounding genuinely interested. "Um..." I mumbled, not really wanting to answer. "Her name's Lapis." Garnet deadpanned. "L-Lapis...? Lapis Lazuli...?" Jasper asked, suddenly extreme surprise in his voice. "Y-yeah, you know her?" I asked in a curious tone. Jasper was silent for a while. "I, uh....I-I've seen her around..." Jasper muttered, and he quickly changed the subject. Huh?
