Chapter 11

I opened the door slowly and groaned. "Ugh whoever it is, come back lat--WAAAH!!!" I screeched, immediately recognizing who was at the door. "Heya sis!! Didja miss me?" Squari purred, giving me a devilish smirk. "What're you doing here?!" I yelped, pushing my big sister further out the door so she wouldn't think of coming into my room. "I texted you in advance! I told you I was comin' for ya." she replied, raising an eyebrow. Oh. That's who it was.

I had deleted my sister's contact before I went to college for freshman year because, uh, I despise the shit out of her. Our relationship was different from me and Jasper's because, I actually tolerated Jasper's presence. I was literally counting down the days until Squari left for college. She's a year older than me, and she was the star child if I'm honest. I remember one time I was beaten up at school for calling my own sister an attention whore - it pissed me off because it was true.

Squari is blind in one eye, she's about three inches or so taller than me, and her hair is a little longer and less spiky than mine. She was basically a hotter me, and she always got all of the attention, leaving me with the shit end of the stick. Whenever she found out about a crush of mine, she'd immediately pounce on them and claim them as her own in less than a week. WAIT. OH FUCK. SHE NEEDS TO LEAVE BEFORE LAPIS SEES HER.

I pushed my sister all the way out the door into the hallway, and closed the door behind me. "Why the hell would you wanna visit me?! I thought you hated me." I asked in an irritated voice. And I probably hate you more. "Well, actually, I've been meaning to tell you that mom insisted on us being closer. So she's planning on transferring me to this college by next week." Squari replied with a look of indifference on her smug face. "Not that I'm particularly thrilled about it, but ya know what they say - momma knows best." she added, smirking.

"NO!! YOU CAN'T TRANSFER HERE!! I DON'T EVEN WANT YOU WITHIN 100 MILES OF MY SPACE!!!" I shouted. "Peridot? Who's out there?" I heard Lapis call from inside the room. "Who's that?" Squari asked, peeking over my shoulder. I gasped and shoved her away defensively. "IT'S NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!! I NEED YOU TO LEAVE NOW!!" I whisper shouted. The tickle of Lapis's breath on the back of my neck startled me as she stepped up behind me. "Say Peri who's this fine gal?~" Squari purred, wiggling her stupid eyebrows.

Lapis's eyebrows shot up as soon as she got a good look at Squari. "Y-you guys look very similar. A-are you guys sisters?" Lapis asked in a surprised tone of voice. "N-no! I don't know her!! And she was just leaving!" I hissed, giving my sister the death glare. "Oh don't be hasty, sis! We've lived together for 17 years straight!" Squari argued. "Sis?! You guys are sisters?! Peridot you never told me you had a sister!" Lapis exclaimed, looking at me. I groaned and pinched my nose for a moment. "What's your name, beautiful?" Squari flirted, and I felt like puking.

"Um...Lapis." Lapis reluctantly replied, looking a little uncomfortable. "Yes, this is my roommate, and she's not. Interested." I hissed the last part. "Pretty name. And I love the color of your hair." Squari ignored me. Amethyst then walked by, but halted when she spotted my sister. "Squari? Is that you?!" Amethyst asked, squinting. "Hey Amethyst!" she replied with a smug smile. "Duuuude it's been forever! We gotta catch up!" Amethyst shouted. "For sure! I'm actually gonna be transferring here next week! So we'll have plenty of time to hang." Squari explained, and I rolled my eyes.

"Why don't you guys come in and we can all hang out for a while! You gotta have a little time, right?" Amethyst claimed, looking at my sister. "Hmm...of course I do!" Squari replied happily. Amethyst signaled for us to follow them into her room, and Lapis looked at me. "C'mon Peri." she muttered, walked in front of me, following Squari and Amethyst. "Sigh....coming..." I grumbled, following behind her. I feel like crying right now...
