Amethyst zoomed straight into the wall, of course taking me with her. The wall made an obnoxiously loud BOOM noise as soon as we crashed into it. Amethyst fell forwards as I fell backwards violently. Ame landed on her stomach, and my back landed against her back roughly. I quickly rolled over off of the short girl, and groaned loudly in agony. "My head was tHIS CLOSE TO BEING SLICED OPEN BY YOUR SKATES, AMETHYST!!" I screeched, gesturing to her blades.
"That wouldn't have been good." Garnet quietly stated, standing at the side with crossed arms as she watched. Amethyst groaned as well, her face seemingly planted against the ice beneath her. "That was awesome." she muttered in a muffled voice. "GET OFF ME!!" I heard Lapis' angry voice shout, and I immediately sat up. I looked over at the two, and frowned immediately. Pearl yelped, and lifted off of Lapis at the speed of light. "I-I'm so sorry, Lapis, i-it wasn't my fault!" Pearl whimpered, scooting back rapidly.
Lapis growled in response, shooting Pearl a death glare as she sat up. Lazuli climbed back to her feet steadily, and regained her balance. However, Pearl remained sitting on the ice, watching Lapis with nervous eyes. "L-Lapis, she's right! It wasn't her fault!" I chimed in, attempting to climb back onto my feet. "Why do you have to be so aggravating!" Lapis shrieked, balling her fists. "Peridot and I were the ones who did it, Lapis! We just ran into Pearl! You saw it!" Amethyst protested, now sitting on the ice as well.
"I-it's true, Lapis! I wouldn't dare crash into you deliberately." Pearl insisted, scooting back a little further. "It's not just that! It's everything!" Lapis groaned, tangling her fingers into her hair. "Oh, here we go..." Amethyst murmured, now resting her chin into her hand. "I didn't want to come here! I didn't want to have to see you! I knew I should've just stayed home!" Lapis yelled, and we all watched silently. "What the fuck was I thinking?! Coming ice skating on Christmas when I knew damn well I was going to see my ex who cheated and lied to me!"
"Lapis, I said I was sorry! I feel absolutely terrible!" Pearl cried, now climbing back to her feet. "Good! You should!" Lapis shot back, gritting her teeth. "C'mon, guys, it was just a little fall! We don't need to be yanking at everyone's chains, right now!" Amethyst groaned in protest, throwing her hands up. "This talk is long overdue, Amethyst." Garnet very quietly stated, adjusting her glasses. "It's not a talk! Lapis is screaming at Pearl!" Ame argued, pointing at the angry bluenette. "You meant everything to me, Lapis. Please trust me when I say that." Pearl said, sliding a bit closer to Lapis.
"I don't have to believe a single word that comes from your mouth." Lapis grunted. "It was a long time ago, Lapis! We were in highschool! We didn't know any better!" Pearl justified. "It wasn't that long ago, Pearl." Lapis muttered, looking away. "It was nearly five years ago!" Pearl shouted, throwing her arms up in the air. The bluenette was silent, and crossed her arms. "You can't hold a grudge forever. It was a huge mistake I made, and I will always feel horrible about it. I did enjoy being together with you though, Lapis." Pearl explained in a quieter tone.
"It doesn't matter. You obviously didn't enjoy it enough." Lapis stated, closing her eyes. I then tried standing up, but as soon as I straightened my posture, my feet slid forward at the speed of light. I screeched loudly as my feet flew up in the air, and I flailed my arms maniacally. I fell back down and landed straight onto my ass, and I screamed again, feeling sheer pain shoot up and down my body. "MY ASSSSS!!!" I hollered, shutting my eyes tightly.
I heard skates skid up to me, and I opened my eyes once again. Lapis stood there at my side, leaning down to check on me. "Are you okay, Peridot?!" she asked in a concerned voice. "Y-yeah I'm fine, I-I just um... may have shattered my tailbone, that's all..." I squeaked, feeling my lower back tremble. Lapis huffed, then scooped me up bridal style. "D-DON'T DROP ME PLEASE!!" I screeched, holding onto Lapis for dear life. "I won't!" she replied, proceeding to skate carefully to the sideline. I looked over at Pearl, who was standing in the middle of the rink as she watched us move farther away. "SOMEONE'S A GRINCH TODAY!!" I heard Amethyst holler.
I stared at Pearl over Lapis' shoulder, and she tilted her head. I mouthed 'it will be okay' to her, and she spun on her heel, turning away from us. "A-are you ever gonna forgive Pearl?" I asked, hugging Lapis tighter. Lapis was silent, and almost didn't reply. I opened my mouth to add something, but was cut off quickly. "Already did. But she doesn't need to know that." she muttered in a very quiet tone that was almost inaudible. "You stubborn bitch." I giggled, and she 'hmph'ed, turning her head away from me. "I just can't talk to her right now. I just wanna go home." she whispered, and her voice sounded a bit strained as she arrived at the gate.
I rested my head on her shoulder, and closed my eyes. "We will. After you take me to the hospital."
