"Oh my god we have to go!" Lapis stated, bouncing up and down. I groaned, and pursed my lips. "I dunno, Lapis. The last time I wore a costume was very traumatic." I grumbled, looking to the side. "So what, you wore a skimpy vampire superhero outfit on the wrong day, big deal. This is frickin' Halloween we're talking about!" she argued, and stared at me. "What's so great about it?!" I asked, shrugging. "Halloween is my favorite holiday ever! It's amazing and it's hella fun. You just need to get into the spirit. We're going to that party." she explained with a shit ton of passion in her voice.

I rolled my eyes, and ran my fingers through my messy hair. I flopped backwards onto my bed as Lapis sat at the edge with Pumpkin in her lap. "I guess... but what would we even wear?!" I asked staring up at the ceiling. Pumpkin hopped from Lapis's lap, and sprinted over to her water and food bowls. Lapis then placed both of her hands onto my bed, and climbed over to me. My eyes darted down toward her and my face heated up. Her deep blue eyes sparkled and she rested her chin on my chest softly. "We could do a couples thing." she suggested. I raised an eyebrow and slightly nodded. "Good call. But what would we do?" I asked, resting my hand on her head, feeling her soft hair.

"What if we did one of those things like the peanut butter and jelly couple costumes." Lapis said, giggling. I snickered, closing my eyes. "Or mustard and ketchup." I added, now giggling. "Let's be Shrek and Fiona." Lapis suddenly stated and it was silent. I then let out a stifled snort and burst into uncontrollable laughter. Lapis kicked her legs a little as she buried her face into my shirt and laughed as well. "Ugh we're so stupid. For real though, what would we wear?" I asked, catching my breath. "Hmmm..." Lapis closed her eyes for a moment, looking deep in thought. "Why don't we just go out and look around? Shop for some." Lazuli suggested, and I blinked a few times. "Hm. Sure why not." I replied, closing my eyes and smiling a little.

Lapis then climbed off of me, and hopped off of the bed carefully. She stretched her arms up and groaned loudly, and I watched (I'm not a pervert I swear). "Where should we shop?" I asked, now sitting up. "We should go to the mall. They have a lotta stuff there." the bluenette replied, picking up her varsity jacket. I agreed, and climbed off of the bed as well.

"I honestly didn't have this in mind..." I muttered, eyeing the lines of fortnite costumes down the aisles. "Yeahhh... maybe we should just be vampires or something." Lapis murmured, staring along with me. "Well where can we find fangs and stuff?" I asked, turning to her. "They have those realistic fangs at Hot Topic. We should also look in Spencer's for some ideas." Lapis explained, looking toward the entrance of Hot Topic. "Alright." and with that, we walked out of the previous store and entered the next one. There were leather backpacks, gages, necklaces, band t-shirts, bobbleheads, pins, all kinds of stuff in this store.

Heavy metal music blared from the speakers on the ceiling. Every single employee working here had at least three piercings on each ear and dyed hair. "Okay... fangs... " Lapis said barely above a whisper as her eyes scanned the shelves. I looked around as well, but couldn't find what we were looking for. "Did you find anything?" I asked, looking over at Lapis across the aisle. "I just asked one of the employees, and they said they don't sell 'em here at this specific Hot Topic." Lazuli explained. "Hm. Okay. Well... looks like we have to keep searching." I said, looking back towards the entrance. Lapis nodded, and took my hand as we walked out of the store.

"Let's go to f.y.e before Spencer's." I suggested, spotting said store right across from us. We walked into the store, and I gasped as I spotted all of the comics displayed across the nearby shelves. I ran to them, and beamed brightly. I heard Lapis stifle a snort as I was fangirling about how many issues they stocked here. "I have to catch up!" I gushed, reaching into my pocket for my wallet. "Peridot, are these really necessar-" "YES!!!" "We're hear for our costumes." Lapis protested, crossing her arms. "Yes yes I know I know, but these are important! I haven't been able to catch up since college started!" I whined, hopping up and down.
