-The next morning-

I barely had any sleep last night, yet I didn't even feel like getting up. I laid in my bed grimly as I stared blankly up at the ceiling. The only thing that would be motivating me to get up today is confronting Jasper and Lapis. It is absolutely infuriating that Lapis would even consider going back with Jasper for so many reasons. One of the most flaring being they would be in the exact same situation as Lapis and I were previously.

Once mine and Lapis' mothers get married, Jasper will be her step brother! It's not fair, and it doesn't make any goddamn sense! I furrowed my eyebrows, and the raging thoughts surging through my head fueled me to sit up quickly in my bed. I threw my feet over the edge of the bed, and swiftly hopped off. I landed on the floor with a loud stomp, and I approached my hanging hoodie.

I snatched it off the hanger, and roughly yanked it on, along with my shoes. I grabbed my phone and keys, and speed-walked to the door. I pulled it open, making sure Pumpkin didn't run out, and stormed down the hallway. As I passed by, I noticed a random college student asleep on the floor in front of my brother's door, earning a confused expression from me.

I shook away the thought and stepped up to Jasper's dorm door, and I squinted my eyes. I knocked on the door roughly three times, before stepping a small step back again. After about thirty seconds, there was no answer, which frustrated me more. I then decided to pound on the door harshly, nearly gritting my teeth. "You and me both." I suddenly heard the dude on the floor say in a raspy voice. This startled me, and I whipped around to look down at him.

"What?" I arched an eyebrow. "Jasper hasn't let ANYONE into the room since last night. He has both keys, too." he explained, slowly sitting up. "What? Do you know where he went? Did you see a girl with him?!" I asked, tangling my fingers into my hair. "He should be in there, dude." he simply replied. I rolled my eyes and groaned loudly. "He would have OPENED UP BY NOW!" I raised my voice.

"Hey, cool your jets, I've been asleep this whole time! I dunno if he left or not, but he still has the key!" he insisted. "Agh God, this isn't going anywhere." I grumbled, pulling out my cell phone. I decided to just call Jasper to see if he'd even answer this. I held it up to my ear as it rang, and it had rang a few times already. I tapped my foot impatiently, looking around the hallways as I waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?"

"Jasper."

"Oh hey, Peridot!"

"Where are you?"

"Wh-what?"

"Where the hell are you?!"

"What do you mean?"

"I've been knocking on your goddamn door, and you supposedly locked your roommate out as well? Where are you?!""

"Wh...why do you need to know?"

"JUST TELL ME!"

"Jeez! I-I'm just wiiitthhhh..."

Jasper's POV:

I began to internally panic as Peridot repeatedly questioned me. I sat at a Starbucks table, staring at Lapis with a nervous expression on my face. She was previously wiping off the tables, until she heard me mention Peridot's name. At the sound of that, she whipped around to look at me, and her face paled.

"Wh...why do you need to know?" I shakily asked. "JUST TELL ME!" Peri screamed into the phone, causing me to wince. I looked at the bluenette with a fearful expression. "Jeez! I-I'm just wiiitthhhh..." I trailed off, looking to Lapis for an answer. "Don't tell her I'm here!" she mouthed, shaking her head quickly. "Mmmmy-m-myself! At the coffee shop." I stammered, immediately regretting what I said.

Lapis then facepalmed, and puffed her cheeks out, clearly frustrated. I cringed at myself, giving her an apologetic expression. "With... yourself. At the coffeeshop." the increasing skepticism in Peridot's voice made me more nervous. "Y-yeah..." I murmured quietly, staring down at my table. "Hm. Well alright then. Bye." she deadpanned before hanging up.

"What the hell, Jasper?! You're with YOURSELF at the coffeeshop?! Wh!" Lapis furrowed her eye brows and threw her hands in the air. "I'm sorry I PANICKED!" I replied quickly, holding my hands up in defense. "That was so fucking suspicious. Do you think she'd suspect that you're here with me?" Lapis asked, twisting the wipe in her hand repetitively. "Uhm... maybe? Maybe not?" I unsurely answered.

"Ugh, why can't you just leave me alone and go back to the dorm?! Please let me workkkk..." she groaned, running her fingers through her messy blue hair.

Peridot's POV:

I bit the inside of my cheek as I stared down at my call log. Jasper sounded so nervous... it was sad how hard he was trying to hide things from me. They're on a date at the coffeeshop. Ugh. Of course. Lapis WORKS there. Angry and jealous thoughts flooded my mind as I paced back and forth in the hallway. I need to go there, I thought. I need to do SOMETHING about this.

They both need to be confronted, and if no one else is going to do it, I will. Wait...what if I got my mother to confront them instead?
