Chapter 15

After the track meet ended, I stormed up to Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, Lapis, and Squari on the bleachers. "Peridot are you okay?! What happened out there?!" Pearl asked anxiously. I ignored her and darted my eyes over at Amethyst. "We need to talk." I hissed through my teeth, and I grabbed Amethyst's wrist and pulled her down the bleachers. "Yowch!!" she yelped as I tightened my grip on her. I dragged her all the way to the locker rooms where no one else was.

"You're pinching my arm skiiinnnuhh..." Amethyst whined, and I rolled my eyes. I opened the door to the locker room and shoved her in there and walked in afterward. I closed the door behind me and glared at her. We stared at each other in silence for like a whole five minutes. Her eyes shifted to the side and she smacked her lips in awkwardness. "Are you gonna drown me in the toile—" "SHUT UP!!" I screeched. "AAaaaAaAAhhh???" Amethyst's cracky voice overlapped my interrupting screech.

"I brought you in here to tell you what the hell is up." I stated. Amethyst looked to the side awkwardly, and she squirmed under my death stare. We were in another tense silence for another five minutes. "So what is up—" "SHUT THE HELL UP DON'T INTERRUPT ME!!!" I growled and she shrunk back. "You poisoned me with that damn smoothie, causing me to spew chunks everywhere, Amethyst!! That's what's up!! I could've gotten first place in that dash, but nooo you just had to give me some rank monkey's ass mango smoothie!" I ranted.

Amethyst stared at me for a moment, and I waited for her response. "Actually it was banana—" "AMETHYST!!!" "I DIDN'T MAKE THE SMOOTHIE PERIDOT!!!" Amethyst protested. Huh? "Wait what? Then who made it?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Squari did! She handed it to me, and said that I should give the smoothie to you for a boost! I had no idea it was tainted, Peri. Honest." Amethyst explained with her hands up in defense. Yup. That sounds like Squari alright. I huffed and slapped my hand against my forehead, and dragged it down with a groan.

"I need to talk to Squari." I grumbled. "Well, she's out there with the others on the bleachers." Amethyst said, pointing to the door. "Right." I replied and looked at Amethyst for a moment. "Uh... sorry for jumping to conclusions, Ame." I said quietly, scratching the back of my neck. "It's chill. But you have like a death grip. Now my arm hurts." Amethyst teased, rubbing her arm. "Shut up... " I groaned, looking away.

We walked out of the locker rooms and I shot Squari a hateful glare from across the field. When we arrived to the bleachers, I walked up to my sister and stared at her for a moment. "Heya sis—GAHKHLLGH!!!" I grabbed her by the neck and violently shook her back and forth like a typical scene out of the Simpsons. "YOU'RE RUINING MY LIFE!!! " I growled in a screechy voice. My friends around me gasped as I jumped on top of her. I realized that this was a mistake, because as soon as I did that, Squari fell backwards, and we both went crashing down the bleachers stairs.

We both rolled and tumbled down, and as we did so, Squari struggled to rip my wrists from her neck and I only held on tighter. THUNK THUD BANG CRASH THUMPITY THUMP THIUNKITY CLANK BUMP CRASHITY CRASH BANG OOF CLANK!!! We both screeched and squeaked and hissed like brawling cats, and we soon hit the track where some runners were still running. The track meet had ended but others were still running just for fun or practice.

Squari had landed on top of me and ended up winning dominance as she now grabbed my neck while my hands were still gripping her neck. So we pretty much were strangling each other. I dug my nails into the back of her neck, and she groaned and tightened her grip on my neck. I then looked to the side and loudly gasped as I spotted runners coming straight our way. "S-S-Squari-i!!" I choked out, trying to warn her. However, it was too late, and the runners tried to stop themselves but were too slow. They tripped and trampled over us obnoxiously, and Squari and I both screamed in terror. "WAHHHHHHH—

"You gotta believe me, Lapis. Squari really did taint that smoothie! Otherwise I wouldn't have thrown up and I would've won first place." I complained, crossing my arms and slumping further into my bed. Lapis had placed a bandage on my forehead to mask the scrape from the horrible fall I took as Squari and I tumbled down the bleachers. "Peridot, she's your sister. I doubt that would do such a thing to ruin your chances at success." Lapis replied, sitting on her bed.

"THAT'S EXACTLY SOMETHING SHE WOULD DO!!" I argued. "Well either way, if you were tryna prove that Squari is the psycho attempting to hurt her sister, trying to strangle her to death isn't the best method." Lapis explained. Ugh, she's right.
"Anyways, I think you did pretty good for your first track meet... you were really fast at the start." She said, giving me a half smile. I blushed at the compliment, and beamed at her. "Wow thanks!" I said with a big grin on my face.

I spotted a little blush on Lapis's cheeks as she turned away with a small 'whatever'. I giggled, and laid back in my bed. "You better get a good night's sleep tonight, cause we're going on that camping trip tomorrow, remember?" Lapis reminded me, and my attitude immediately went from happy to bummed out.

"Right, right... " I groaned. That's gonna be fun...
