The week had blown by slowly. I hadn't been able to sleep much, rooming alone is really taking its toll on me. I suppose I could room with Randy but that would make things a little sketchy looking and I don't really want to be on the cover of some ridiculous tabloid.
I haven't had any sort of contact with Dean and it's a little heartbreaking. I know we're fine and I know this is all for a better cause but it still hurts. I miss his cute voice and his warm hugs.
But tonight is RAW and The Authority has big things planned. Tonight is really where this feud is going to kick off and I'm excited but also a little terrified. I haven't been totally filled in on what my role will be tonight and I don't exacty know what to expect.
It was definitely unexpected when I walked into the arena to be greeted by Seth Rollins, and this time his face isn't full of anger and jealousy. He's actually excited to see me and it's pretty weird. Too bad I can't say the same for him. Maybe he's got some kinda' lil' plan in his mind as well.
"Trips and Steph aren't here yet but I talked to them yesterday. We're bringing out the big guns tonight. It's 'bout to get crazy." He smirked as we walked through the backstage.
I should know better than to follow along after Seth Rollins, for all I know he could be leading me into a supply closet where he'll lock me for the night. But surprisingly he just wanted to sit in catering and hangout while we wait for the bosses to get here.
"So, are we like best friends now or what?" I smirked, trying to joke a little bit. But he only glanced at me with an unamused look on his face.
"More like frenemies." He smirked. Frenemies. That seems pretty accurate.
The backstage area began to pack in the superstars as RAW came closer and closer, but it seems like the only ones missing back here is The Authority. I'm getting anxious. I have no idea what my roll is tonight and I can't just be told what to do and do it, I need some guidelines.
"Hey, whoa, never thought I'd see you two so buddy-buddy." The voice of the viper, Randy Orton chimed into my thoughts bringing me back to reality. I only just realized I had been totally leaned against Seth as I was in my own little panic in my mind, why didn't he shove me away?
"O-Oh. Sorry!" I quickly stood up and stepped away from the both of them. "Sorry I was lost in my head, ha, happens a lot." I felt my cheeks glowing red.
"Uh okay, well. I just got off the phone with Trips and one of their kids is really sick so they won't be in tonight. Maddox is in charge tonight..." Randy sulked, dropping his head at that last part.
"What?! Oh come on! Tonight we were supposed to really start this freakin' war!" Seth stood up and shouted, quickly quieting his voice when the faces around sent him a glance.
"That has to wait 'til next week. But tonight," He sighed. "Tonight we have to come up with our own plan. Hunter said he trusts us and this is where we show him that we're really worthy of our places. So, any ideas?" Randy asked sounding a bit worrysome.
What a bummer, but at the same time it's also such a relief. I was starting to freak myself out. I need to chill out because this is only the beginning and there's a long road to travel down before any of this is even near over.
"With the Authority gone, why don't we just act like we have no plan. You know, play it low key? Let Maddox do his thing. You guys will have your regular matches or whatever. They'll think we're unprepared and they'll probably attack, then whoever is backstage and myself will come in for the rescue and kick their ass." I smiled, rubbing my hands together.
"You're onto something, sweetheart. I shouldn't underestimate you." Seth smirked, pacing back and forth staring into his balled fists.
The word sweetheart oozed out of his mouth so smoothly but it still brought a sickening feeling to my stomach. Nobody other than Dean should use that word towards me. Why is Seth being so, so friendly to me? Yeah we worked out our differences slightly but not enough to be this cool with eachother.
"How about Seth, you have a match with Dolph Ziggler. He's been bashing you lately on twitter callin' you a sellout and whatever. Believable feud? Yes. Randy you can have a tag match with Kane versus John Cena and Sheamus. They've been a pretty solid tag team and I think it's time to end their little winning streak. There ya' go, a simple and totally regular night. When Dean and Roman come out to make their move, we attack. Tonight we destroy them, but, leave them within an inch of their conciousness so when The Authority return they have something to feast on." I spoke with a sly grin.
The two men looked on with extreme satisfaction and a sort of disbelief on their faces. What? Did they not expect a little darlin' like me to not be a total genius?
"Hate to say it, but I actually like that plan. I'll talk to creative and get them to throw together a splash of Ziggler's tweets. Then I'll challenge him to a match tonight. You guys will have my back and I'll have yours? That lunatic will be all over me if he has the chance and I'm not trying to get my face ripped off tonight." Seth spoke, a bit of excitement hidden in his usual angry tone.
"Alright, pretty brilliant. But what about you, since you've set up our matches I think it's only fair we set up a match for you." Randy grinned slyly.
Seth wiggled his finger at Randy, smiling wide. "Haha, I like that idea! Come on Paige, let us pick your opponent for tonight!"
The idea of Randy Orton and Seth Rollins picking my opponent for tonight is a bit terrifying. But, it's the kind of terrifying that I enjoy. Come on, what's the worst they could do? It's not like Kharma will return and kick my ass. Maybe they'll even be on my side for this one and pick an easy opponent.
"Fine. But if my match is a total flop because of you two, bosslady will be the first one to hear about it. So pick carefully boys." I smiled before strolling off towards the locker room to ready myself for tonight.
A few steps later I stopped in my tracks and spun around, laying my eyes on both Randy and Seth. "Hey, hey, wait a minute. Ambrose and Reigns need a match, a kinda' match that will remind them who's in charge. We don't have to get involved for them to know we're still so many steps ahead of them." I spoke, hating the fact that if I had kept my mouth shut the boys may have actually had the night off and time to relax and unwind.
"Oh no, we can't let them forget that we're in charge now, can we? How about a handicapped match. Let's really stack the odds against them. The Wyatt Family versus the remnants of The Shield. How's that for brilliant?" Randy smirked.
From the perspective of The Authority, that match is genius. It's a money match, one that will likely go down as one of the most brutal matches in history. But from the perspective of the women who is absolutely in love with Dean Ambrose and pretty fond of Roman Reigns, I hate myself for even bringing up the idea to put them in a match tonight.
What have I done?
