You requested fluff but I started it with a little bit angst, but of course there is also fluff— I hope you like it!

Based on a prompt:
46. "Have you been crying again?"

Tears had been your loyal companion now since a few weeks ago. You had been dating Tony Stark for more than a year but managed to keep it from the people, besides the Avengers.

But somehow the press knew about your relationship with Tony a few weeks ago and it became a headline in the newspapers.

At first, the reaction from the people was positive. They were all happy that the billionaire had finally found his love after Pepper left. But not so long after that, the negative comments appeared.

You were a doctor, a cardiologist to be exact, and the news didn't help you at work at all. Your patients kept asking you about it and you just smiled, even if their questions could be bitter.

"So you're just a rebound, huh?"

One day a patient asked you this. Your heart almost stopped, but you pulled yourself together and sent him a smile. You just shook your head and hoped that he would stop asking you about it. You wondered if you ever only be a rebound.

Tony always noticed when something was bothering you. Since the news spreaded, he knew you were uncomfortable with the attention that you were getting.

Every night you came home, looking more tired than usual, your eyes red and puffy and he knew you very well. He could guess that you were crying while driving back home.

But everytime he asked you to talk about it, you would just shook your head and gave him a smile.

"I'm totally fine, Tony."

It hurt him to know that you were affected by the people's opinions. He loved you, and he wouldn't let anyone say otherwise.

Tony respected your decision if you didn't want to tell him about it. He knew you were strong but he also noticed that you were breaking.

He found you crying a few times but you quickly shrugged it off and told him that you were fine. You would smile at him, or even laughs. He wondered how you could be so selfless.

Tonight was no different. You came home from work, away from your colleagues who were still busy talking about you and Tony.

You were getting ready for bed and you realised Tony was already falling asleep while he was waiting for you. A soft smile creeped on your face and you left a kiss on his forehead lovingly.

"I love you, Tony."

You whispered softly and you were going to sleep before your phone buzzed. You frowned when you saw a few messages were sent from many unknown numbers.

"You don't deserve him, and you know it."

Your jaw clenched and you wondered where did the haters got your number. You didn't want to read the other messages, but your finger still clicked on them.

"Poor you. Will you ever see that Tony will never love you as much as you think he would?"

"You're a rebound, Y/N. Wake up and see that!"

"You're dating Tony Stark? I was expecting a prettier, a smarter and a better woman for him. But no, you're worse than Pepper."

Tears gathered in your eyes and your lips quivered. You had no idea why would they hated you so much. You tried to stop being sensitive, but you couldn't. This was too much for you to bear.
