⭐ Wicked Feelings | Steve Rogers

Your eyes were glued on the television screen as the horror movie played, your heart was thumping rapidly against your chest. You could feel the fear that was building in you, as the ghost started to appear---

"Y/N!"

A bloodcurdling scream escaped your lips as someone touched your shoulder and yelled your name. Your eyes grew wide as Tony laughed next to you. He looked like he had so much fun messing with you.

"What the hell, Tony?!"

You hit his arm repetitively, making him wince in pain but he was still grinning at you. Bruce shook his head and he decided not to interfere with your business with Tony.

"Stark, please do not do that to Y/N."

Steve said, a soft smile was painted on his face as his eyes landed on you. You could not help but blushed when you looked at the Super Soldier. You always liked him, and he always picked your side no matter what happened--- making you fall head over heels for him.

"Rogers, you're killing the fun."

"There's no fun. Y/N was shocked."

"I was only joking, okay?"

"I know but it was mean and---"

Steve kept defending you and he was arguing with Tony. The situation annoyed Bruce who was watching the movie and he groaned. Bruce decided to leave you, Tony and Steve watching the movie while he went to his bedroom.

"I think you guys just annoyed Bruce. He was trying to focus on the movie."

You exclaimed, shutting both Steve and Tony for good. Tony raised his eyebrows and realised that his best friend was not there anymore. He sighed and got up from the couch.

"Well, I guess the movie was not that good. I'm going to have my beauty sleep. Good night, lovebirds!"

Tony said, leaving you and Steve. Lovebirds? You smiled at the thought. You looked at Steve who was grinning at you.

"It's just us now, Y/N."

"Yeah, are you still interested to watch the movie?"

You asked, and Steve shrugged his shoulders. Then he gave you a smirk.

"Not really. Let's take a walk."

"A walk?"

It was extremely dangerous to go on a walk during night time but with Captain America by your side, you did not have any fear nor doubts. It was sweet, really, that you could have a nice walk with him. However, deep inside, your feelings were battling with your mind.

You wanted to take his hand in yours and tell him how much you love him but you were too scared of rejection to do those things. Thus, you walked side by side with Steve, your hands were in your pockets.

"So, how's work?"

He asked, making you chuckle softly.

"Work is fine. I mean, working in lab with Tony can be a challenge sometimes. But hey, I'm used to it now."

You responded, without realising that Steve was admiring you. The night wind blew and it was cold. You wrapped your arms around yourself and grinned at Steve.

"It's a cold night, right?"

"Yes. I think I should do this."

He said, a sly smirk was dancing on his lips.

"Do what?"

A frown was on your face but then your face flushed as Steve wrapped an arm around your shoulder. His warmth spreaded to your body and a small smile was cracked on your lips.

"Oh, this is nice."

You laughed. Steve nodded and you both continued to walk in the cold night, sharing some laughs and you were jubilant.

If that night was not awakening the love inside of you, you did not know what it was. You were falling in love with Steve even harder and you could not stop. There was no end to your fall and you were exhausted.

You were too tired of hiding your feelings for the Super Soldier. It was not easy to pretend as if his smile was not making your heart skip a beat.

"Y/N, are you alright?"

Steve asked, as he realised that you were distracted whilst having your breakfast. You were shook from your train of thoughts and you nodded violently.

"I'm--- I'm fine."

You stuttered, a nervous smile was plastered on your face. Steve did not buy it as he put his hand on yours, without knowing that it made your heart swell in joy.

"Are you sure? If you're not feeling well, I can take you to the doctor."

He offered, a warm smile was sent to you. Oh, your heart fluttered at his concern. But your moment was disturbed when Tony walked into the dining room with Bruce.

"If you want to see a doctor, well--- we have a doctor."

Tony pointed at Bruce, who was looking as confused as ever. You mentally facepalmed and you wanted more than to punch Tony in the face right now. He just destroyed your moments with Steve.

"No, thank you. I'm fine, Stark."

You hissed, glaring daggers at Tony. Your eyes softened as they landed on Bruce who was absolutely innocent. Tony put his hands up and smirked.

"Why are you so grumpy today?"

"I am not!"

Bruce rolled his eyes and he was growing tired of you and Tony who kept bickering like some annoying kids. Tony looked at Steve and he was reminded of something.

"Hey, Rogers. Don't you have a date today?"

He asked, catching Steve off guard. You choked on your coffee and you quickly looked at Steve to see his reaction. A date? Oh god, did you just lose your chance?

"It is not a date, Tony."

Steve said, shaking his head at the billionaire. Tony chuckled under his breath.

"Then what it is?"

"It is just a meeting."

You frowned at Steve's answer. A meeting? You looked at Tony and from the look on his face, you knew Tony was not fooling around.

"Whatever you say. A meeting with Sharon Carter it is."

Tony said and winked at Bruce who was grinning. Oh, Sharon Carter. No wonder Tony and even Bruce were thinking that it was a date. You curled your hands in fists under the table and took a deep breath.

"Are you alright, Y/N? I'm worried about you."

Steve asked you, worry was evident in his eyes. You swallowed the lump in your throat and forced a smile. You were his friend, of course he would be worried about you.

"You don't have to worry about me, Steve."

"You're my best friend, Y/N. I just want you to be alright, that's all."

He smiled, without realising that he was breaking your heart. Your feelings were fading as you woke up and smell the coffee--- that you were only his best friend.

Yes, you could confess to him but you did not want to. You did not deserve him. Hence, you decided to bury those feelings deep within your shattered heart, expecting them to be gone once tomorrow came.
