It's me again God,

The most-prepared-for day of the year has finally arrived! It's so peaceful as I lie in bed —the usual hum of distant traffic on the highway is absent! Most people will be off work and will enjoy a sleep in on this public holiday, that is if they don't have small children who are excited to get up and open presents!

Some will already be up, putting the turkey in the oven and preparing for a house full of visitors. Some families will head out to the beautiful beaches nearby to celebrate Christmas with a swim and a picnic by the sea while others spend the first part of their day at a local church, giving thanks for all You have done!

What a difference it makes to know You!  When I think of the people who will wake up today and not realise that You have sent Your Son into the world, it makes me so sad. There is a story to tell to those around me and I am determined to let as many people know! Thank You for the privilege of sharing the Good News like the shepherds did that first Christmas and for the beautiful carols that were written so long ago to celebrate the most pivotal event in history!

Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the new-born King!
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled."
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
With th' angelic host proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem."
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the new-born King!

I love the line that says 'God and sinners reconciled'! Yes Jesus, You are my Prince of Peace! Your birth opened up the way for all to be reconciled to the Father, bringing all the nations of the world together as one to worship You! Your birth makes us all equal as You came for the rich and the poor alike. You came to bring light and life to all, no matter what circumstances they are in!

Hail! the heaven-born
Prince of peace!
Hail! the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Risen with healing in his wings
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die:
Born to raise the son of earth,
Born to give them second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the new-born King !"

Thank You Jesus for leaving the glory of heaven to be born in humble surroundings but with such a great purpose —'born that man no more may die'! I am thankful to have been given a second birth:

"Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. ""
‭‭John‬ ‭3:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Thank you that I have become Your child as I have been born again and adopted into Your forever family! Thank You that Your coming also means there is healing available to all - 'risen with healing' reminds me that Your death and resurrection not only brought me into Your family but also dealt with all my sicknesses:

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I claim this wonderful promise today and boldly declare that by Your stripes or wounds, I am healed! Thank You for Your sacrificial love for me!

Today I will join with many families and individuals who come together to sing Your praises in churches all around the world —desiring to give You all the glory, 'Glory to the new-born King'!

Please help me to keep focussed on You throughout this time of celebrating, after all, this day is really all about You!

In Your precious Name,
Amen.
