It's me again God,
It's everyone's desire that 2019 will be a happy one. At midnight all over the world, people wished each other a Happy New Year —it's a tradition but people can wish all they like and things might not be happy! There is only one way to be happy and that is to trust in You and to put You first!
As this year begins, I submit to You! I put all my trust in You:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
As I sat on the beach this morning, watching the sunrise, a large tractor with a raking plough began to trek across the sand, making it smooth. It made straight pathways in the sand and I couldn't help but think of these verses! Thank You that You go ahead of me this year, smoothing the way, making straight paths for me to walk on!
The thing I really need watch out for is 'leaning on my own understanding'. My own opinions or knowledge is very limited compared to Yours and I can be so easily influenced by my feelings or what others say. This can lead to me spiraling down to thinking negative thoughts! I know it doesn't have to be this way! Thank You that You have gone ahead of me into this year, making straight paths —I choose to walk on them, submitting to You in everything. I confidently rely and trust in You as You take me into 2019!
Please help me to come to You each day in prayer and read Your Word. I will trust in Your promises and believe that I am who You say I am!

Thank You Jesus for loving me and for all You have done for me! Thank You that on this day and all the coming days this year, I am secure knowing I am Your child, I am free from carrying the weight of my own sin and there is a place for me in my Father's house!
Lead me and guide me today and may my heart continue to praise You:
"From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised."
